BLOG TOUR & REVIEW: Shaken Not Stirred by Sawyer Bennett

The Last Call Series: Tenn’s Story
Release: March 17, 2015
Publisher: Big Dog Books, LLC

Welcome to Last Call...a bar where the drinks are cold and the nights are scorching hot.

Casey Markham is a man-eater in a rut. Swearing off relation- ships may keep her heart safe, but she’s beginning to question if her casual flings will ever leave her satisfied. She’s wondering if it’s finally time to let go of the past and stop letting history control her future.

Bad boy biker, Tenn Jennings can’t get Casey off his mind. A chance encounter with the beautiful blond has left its mark, and now he’s determined to prove her wrong about everything she thought she knew about men.

It’s safe to say… Casey Markham has met her match.

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED can be read as a stand-alone.

My Review

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Holy crap. The author wasn't kidding when she said that Casey Markham has met her match. Tenn is a force to be reckoned with, just like Casey. From the moment he meets Casey, Tenn can tell that she was made for him and he sees through the Casey that she lets people believe is the real her. Tenn is an amazing boyfriend and an even more amazing father. When he loves someone, he loves them with EVERYTHING he has.

Casey is a tough chick. She doesn't do relationships thank to some douchebag she dated in high school. She has sex with wealthy men and as soon they show any interest that goes beyond that, she dumps them. But as soon as she meets Tenn she knows that he could be a game changer. The more time she spends with him, the more she actually starts to like him and actually sticks around when he starts to want more. I laughed out loud when I read the quote below because it knew from that point on she would have a really hard time letting him go.

Fuck, fuck, fuck. I will not let my heart get tied up with this man. I will not let my heart get tied up with this man. I will not let my— Crap. I’m doomed.
As soon as Tenn meets Casey he knows that she is different. And after one night with her, he falls. He falls HARD. It doesn't take him long to figure out why Casey does what she does:
I nod, my eyes wide with understanding. “It’s easier to keep yourself closed off from those types of people. You aren’t in any danger of getting hurt, because you know exactly what you’re dealing with. And because these men really aren’t of any true interest to you… at least no more than a nice diversion… you aren’t ever in any danger of breaking your own boundaries. You’re not in danger of falling for them.”
Despite knowing how Casey works, Tenn doesn't back down. He makes it very clear to her that he isn't going away. He introduces Casey to his daughter. He fights for Casey when she makes a bonehead decision regarding her past. He essentially plants himself into Casey's life and refuses to go away. I loved that about him and I think he knew that he had to do that. If he gave up or waited for Casey to come to him, their relationship may have never happened.

Luckily for both of them, the rest of the gang is still around to give advice when needed. Even Tenn's daughter Zoey is helpful when it comes to letting Casey know how Tenn feels about her. When Casey needs a ladies night, the girls are there for her. Tenn even spends some quality time with Casey's brothers at one point. It was nice to see everyone hanging out and of course getting into everyone else's business. You know. like family & friends should.

Casey and Tenn were smoking hot together. Tenn was gentle when he needed to be, but also an awesome dirty talker when he felt he needed to kick things up a notch. Towards the end of the book Tenn has to go home to the family ranch after a family emergency and Casey goes with him. One day while they are out riding something happens that made me go "Really? Is that possible?" and then it turned into "Wow. That's really hot." I would tell you what that, but I don't want to ruin it.  So go ahead and just click on the link know you want to!
