An Evening Between the Sheets Signing - 7/31/15

I was super excited about this event the minute it was announced. These are the authors that I LOVE. The ones whose books I pimp out to everyone I know. So the fact that I was going to meet them made me absolutely giddy!! It was a wonderful event and I am so glad that I went.

So in no particular order, these are the authors I met:

Rebecca Yarros

So I've been threatening Rebecca that I was going to hug the crap out of her when we finally met and I did! Her books are awesome and she is just an amazing human being. I had the chance to hang around and chat with her toward the end of the night and it was lovely. She's just the best!

Mandi Beck

If you haven't read Love Hurts yet you are missing out! Mandi wrote an awesome friends to lovers book that will leave you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book to come out! I need me some more Deacon!

Claire Contreras

I absolutely LOVED Kaleidoscope Hearts so it was great to see her in person. I told her a friend of mine randomly picked up her book after I gave it 5 stars and ended up loving it just as much as I did. If you haven't read it, click the link below and 1-click that book!

Whitney G

Whitney was a absolute sweetheart and as you can see below, she really takes the time to sign her books. It was a pleasure to meet her in person. Sincerely, Carter is a fantastic friends to lovers story and the Reasonable Doubt series is SUPER sexy. That Andrew Hamilton will melt your panties off!

Corinne Michaels

Corinne loves to torture us with her cliffhangers and I love her for that. Her books are these intense, emotional reads that will leave you exhausted at the end, BUT you will be so happy that you read them. Not to mention Corinne writes amazing Alpha males that us ladies are constantly fighting over....instant book boyfriend material.

Elisabeth Grace

I had actually met Elisabeth very briefly the previous week at RWA, so it was an absolute treat to see her again. She's the sweetest and I absolutely adore her!! If you haven't read her Indiscretion series, you should. It is one of my favorites and Max is up at the top of my book boyfriend list.

Linda Russell

Linda, who works for  Sassy Savvy Fabulous PR & Marketing, was sitting with Rebecca Yarros. We interact online all the time, so it was wonderful to finally to meet her. Especially since I didn't realize that she would be there!! Surprise!!  :-)

Lauren Rosa

Lauren is a fellow blogger (http://www.cherryredsreads.com/) and the one person that I have seen at all 3 signings I've been to this year! It's always nice to see a friendly face at these things. Lauren is the nicest and if you don't follow her on all social media, then you are doing it wrong.  ;-)

I had such a wonderful time at this signing and it's hard to believe that in the short time I have been doing this, I have been able to meet most of my favorite authors! Thank god for living in a big city!

On to the next event!

RWA Signing: "Readers for Life" Literacy Autographing - 7/22/15

I did not attend this year's RWA conference, but I did go to the "Readers for Life" Literacy Autographing event that took place on July 22nd.

Here is what the RWA website says about the event:
At the "Readers for Life" Literacy Autographing, hundreds of romance authors meet with and sign books for fans in this two-hour event, with the proceeds from book sales going to literacy organizations.
In 2015, Romance Writers of America raised more than $48,000 to benefit literacy programs — bringing our total donations since 1990 to more than $900,000. This year's beneficiaries are ProLiteracy WorldwideLiteracy Partners, and Literacy Assistance Center.
The event took place in a giant ballroom at the Marriott Marquis and it was crazy. So many authors. So many fans. So many people! It was a great event and I am glad that I went.

The picture below is the holding room that we waited in before the signing....I liked the giant lights.  Very cool.

So like the description said, there were hundreds of authors that were signing so I took it upon myself to figure out who I wanted to see and made a point of looking at the seating chart to see where they would be sitting. I needed to be prepared!

I didn't wait in Nora Robert's line (it was SO long), but I did manage to take this photo, which I immediately sent to a friend of mine and was like "IT'S NORA ROBERTS!!!" I have read so many of her books and she was one of the first romance authors that I ever read. She's a legend!

Here are the authors that I did wait in line to see:

Jill Shalvis

I've read all of her books and the Lucky Harbor series is just the best!  I had already read Second Chance Summer, but I couldn't help myself....it's JILL SHALVIS!!! (Plus it was for charity, so why not?!?!)

Jennifer Probst

I met Jennifer  for the first time back in May and was lucky enough to see her once again. She is the nicest person! Seriously, if you are ever at a signing and she is there, make sure to stop and say hello!!

Toni Blake

I read Toni's Destiny Series quite a few years ago and I LOVED it so I took the opportunity to pick up the two books in her Coral Cove series. She was the sweetest. Did you know she writes erotics books under the name Lacey Alexander? I didn't either!

Marquita Valentine

I've made it very clear on my blog (as well as other social media outlets) that I LOVE Marquita's books!  I picked up the first book in her Lawson Brothers series. Have you read it yet?  It's currently FREE on Amazon: http://amzn.com/B00RTZGCB0. It was awesome to meet her in person as well!  I am now making my way through her Holland Springs series and I LOVE it!

Rachel Lacey

I've interacted with Rachel on both Facebook and Twitter so I made a point of stopping by to say hello and picked up some swag while I was there.  Have you read her Love to the Rescue series?  She has a new book, Ever After, coming out in a couple weeks. You can pre-order it here: http://amzn.com/B00QQQL7I6

Chanel Cleeton

Chanel didn't have any books for sale, but I have read Capital Confessions series, so I stopped by to say hello and tell her how much I love her books!  The 3rd book comes out in September and I can't wait to read it! I have a feeling this will be the best one yet!

Overall the signing was fantastic! It was a bit overwhelming at time for a newbie like myself, but it was all for charity and I not only picked up some great books, but I got to meet some of the best people!

I also got to meet a couple more authors that weren't taking part in the signing event:

Claudia Connor

After the signing I had the chance to meet the one and only Claudia!! I am part of her Facebook group (HI CRAZI CREW!!) and she was nice enough to meet up with anyone who was attending the signing. She even gave us some Worth the Fall swag...I DO LOVE MATT!!! It was awesome to just sit and chat with her and also a few other authors who were just hanging around. I even met  a couple other Crew members who were there.

Chloe Barlow

On Friday of that week I met up with Chloe! We have been interacting online (HI CHLOE'S CREW!) for a while now, so it was wonderful to finally meet her. We had a lovely chat about books (what else?!?!) and I'm so glad she was able to have some free time to meet me. If you haven't read her Gateway to Love series, you really should. She writes amazing, kick ass women and swoonworthy men. Go check her out!

Sexy in the City Event - 5/30/15

Last weekend I attended that Sexy in the City Event here in New York City. Thanks to The Hype PR and Jenna Galicki for putting on a fantastic event. It was my first book event and it was just the right amount of crazy for me to handle!!

I already owned some of the books I brought with me, but I also bought my fair share at the event. Either way...it was a lot of books! Also, isn't that print everyone received adorable??

My first stop was to see Steph Nuss. I LOVE her books and couldn't wait to meet her! She is just the sweetest and I'm so happy that I now own all 3 books in her Love in the City series. We chatted for a long time and she gave me a little insight into her next book. (JUSTIN!!!)

I even met some fellow members of Steph's fan group Nuss' Navy! (HI LADIES!!!) It was lovely meeting them and hopefully I will see them at future signings!

I was also super excited to meet Tessa Bailey and she did not disappoint! Tessa is not only an amazing author, but she is also the nicest person. I stopped by her table twice and the second time we ended up chatting for a little bit. She commented later that we could have kept chatting for a few more hours, which is totally true!

Fun fact: I won that ARC of Chase me from Monica Murphy, who was also at this signing!

Fellow author Rebecca Yarros asked me to get a "bad photo" of Tessa and this was the best I could do. Sorry Rebecca!!

After meeting these two I slowly made my way around the room....

Jennifer Probst was the sweetest person. I had tweeted at her earlier that morning so when I introduced myself she gave me the most awesome excited greeting. It was awesome. I had just read Searching for Beautiful and I LOVED it, so I picked up a copy and had her sign that. She also had some awesome swag. I grabbed an adorable wallet.

I have read all of the books in Carly Phillips' Dare series, but the most recent book was definitely my favorite and I managed to get the last copy!  Check out the cool swag she included with my purchase!

I have been wanting to read Kristen Proby's Boudreaux Series so I picked up the first book. Also, she is really good at taking selfies. If you ever meet Kristen, have her take a selfie!

The week before the event I made a trip to Strand Bookstore to see what they had in stock and I was lucky enough to buy the first two books in Emma Chase's Tangled series. I read them and LOVED them so it's nice to have the paperbacks. We chatted a little about her new series, which I haven't read yet, but is definitely on the top of my TRB.

I introduced myself to Monica Murphy as "the girl who won the ARC of Tessa Bailey's Chase Me" that she recently gave away. It was nice to be able to thank her in person.

I had a nice stack of books that I had her sign. I read Fair Game and loved it (SHEP!!!!), so I picked up a copy of that. I also bought her One Week Girlfriend series from Strand so I had her sign that as well.

The last stop I made before I left was to see Ahren Sanders. I met her earlier that day, but I wanted to say goodbye because she was the NICEST. She also had some cool swag at her table so I picked up a few things.

I also picked up a copy of Deborah Bladon's book Chance. She was giving them away at her table! I wasn't familiar with this particular book, but it is a friends to lovers book, so I am sure I will enjoy it.

It was such a fantastic day! There were a lot more authors there that I didn't meet and of course those handsome cover models. Every once in a while I would hear a big cheer coming from the direction of one of the cover model booths. I guess that's what happens when they take their shirts off!

Thanks again to the organizers and to everyone I met that day for being so lovely. Hopefully we will meet again at future events!

HAPPY READING!
