It was supposed to be the happiest time of my life. And it was, until my husband left me. On our honeymoon. For the wedding planner.

Now all I want to do is get over the humiliation with the one man I shouldn’t.

Except he's avoiding me at all costs.

But I'm not going to let Aiden McHugh get away. He might be the hottest quarterback in the NFL and my older brother’s best friend, but he doesn't intimidate me. He promised to help me and I’m holding him to it… even if it means I have to convince him one seduction at a time.

Until the seduced becomes the seducer. I no longer want to get over my ex; I just want Aiden.

EXCERPT

Shocked doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel when I see Layton standing outside, wearing a large coat… and is she holding pom-poms?

After another insistent pounding on the door, I stride to it, yanking it open. “What the hell are you doing at my house? And who let you the fuck in my neighborhood?”

“I gave the guard my brother’s name and said I was taking important papers to you.”

“That’s… pretty damn smart.”

Throwing off the coat, Layton beams at me and puts her hands on her hips. “I came over to S-E-D-U-C-E you!”

My jaw drops and gets stuck to the floor. “You what?

Her brow furrows. “Did I spell seduce wrong?”

I look around, half-expecting that at any minute, someone with a camera phone will jump out at us and yell just kidding, because there's no way in hell Layton Price should be on my doorstep wearing a cheerleading outfit and shaking her pom-poms at me.

Well, she hasn't shaken them yet, but her tits are about to pop out of her top, and the skirt… the skirt leaves little to the imagination. Swear to God, with a faster turnaround, I’ll see her ass cheeks hanging out.

“You spelled it right.” I rub my jaw. “What do you want?”

She rolls her eyes. “I came here to seduce you.”

“Wearing that?” It’s not usually my thing, but…

“Should I shake my pom-poms for you first?”

Hell yes, you should. “No. Put your coat back on.” I bend over and pick it up, then place it around her shoulders. “You need to go home, LT.”

She juts out her bottom lip. “My Uber already left.”

“Not my problem.”

“Come on, Aiden,” she pleads, batting her lashes at me and letting the coat slide down her hot little body. “It’s cold outside.”

“Should have thought about that before you put,” I wave my hand at her, “that on.”

“I wore it just for you. The top’s too tight, though.” As if to torture me, she started bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet. “Oh, wow. I can’t believe the girls are staying put.”

Me either. “Good for them.” I try to shut the door, but she shoves a pom-pom in at the last minute. “Damn it, LT. I said go home.”

“You can't leave me outside when it's cold like this.”

Better than me taking advantage of her like this. “I’m not a gentleman, baby girl.”

“You don't have to be a gentleman to be a decent person,” she points out. “And stop calling me baby girl. I’m neither one of those.”

She's right. “Get your ass in here. You can wait in the foyer while I get an Uber for you.”

Pushing her way in, she grins and spins around, stumbling a couple of times in the process. “What do you think of the outfit? Be honest.”

BLOG TOUR & REVIEW: Love So Wild (Lawson Brothers #8 ) by Marquita Valentine

Love So Wild, an all-new contemporary romance from Marquita Valentine is available now!

Love So Wild by Marquita Valentine
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publishing Date: December 13th, 2017

Pilot Elijah Lawson always knew he’d return to Jessamine, marry a hometown girl and settle into very predictable life. After all, he made promises to his parents that once he’d gotten his fill of adventure that he would do exactly that… and Eli was a man of his word. Only he's never been able to get the bewitching redhead he’d fallen hard for two years earlier out of his head and he’s afraid that no woman in Jessamine will ever measure up.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop his family from trying to set him up with every single woman in town… until Skye Holland shows up on his doorstep.

The only reason Skye Holland moved back to North Carolina was so she could do the right thing for her one year old son. A boy, after all, needed his father, while she… she simply needed a fresh start. But first, she has to let Eli know that their red-hot affair had consequences. Consequences she has no intentions of repeating, no matter how many old feelings come rushing to the surface when they’re together.

Too bad for Skye that Elijah has other ideas and he’s not going to let this second chance at love get away again.

EXCERPT

She rushed out of the kitchen before anyone could stop her, going as fast as she could without breaking into a run. But by the time she got to her room, Elijah had caught up. He grabbed her by the arm and pushed her inside, closing the door behind them

“Mind telling me what that was all about?” he asked, even as sparks of desire tripped up and down her arm from where their skin touched.

Did he feel it, too?

“I was only stating the truth,” she insisted.

“Your truth is to tell us that we shouldn’t bother getting to know you because all that matters is Miles?”

She closed her eyes for a moment. “Of course, he’s all that matters. I stopped mattering as soon as he was born!”

“Well, that’s not how we do things in this family. You matter just as much."

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Lawson men always do the right thing. It may take them a while to get it together, but they do. So when Skye Holland shows up on Elijah's doorstep with a one year old, claiming that Elijah is the father, he accepts that and is determined to make things right. Elijah and Skye were a couple for few months until things suddenly ended. Skye wants only the best for her son and that means having his father in his life. She has no expectations of Elijah. She just wants him to decide how involved he wants to be.

Of course Elijah wants to be involved. Like really involved. He immediately has the two of them move into this house. It doesn't take long for his family to get involved either, which of course freaks Skye out. But like Skye, they too want the best for her son and that means she is now a part of the Lawson family. Elijah stepped up and not only took responsibility for his son, but he also decided that Skye is and always has been the one for him. He just needs to prove that to her and it won't be easy.

I really enjoyed this book. We get to see some of the Lawson family again and they are, like always, awesome. Elijah's mother is a big help to him and his brothers and cousin are there to keep him humble. I loved watching him reconnect with Skye, while learning to be a father to his son.

BLOG TOUR: Scored by Marquita Valentine

Title: Scored
Author: Marquita Valentine
Publication Date: June 20th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Scored, a sexy all-new STANDALONE from Marquita Valentine is available now!!!

Dallas Drake has a big salary and an even bigger…ego…and he’s not afraid to use either of them to his advantage. As infamous as he is attractive, Dallas has all the equipment necessary to bring home the win.

The first time I met him, I was in handcuffs.

The second, he saved me when I fell off a ladder.

Now? Now we’re working together to plan a charity event.

I may not be interested in what Dallas has to offer, but as the game goes on, I’m becoming more open to his passes.

Is he looking for the win, or just determined to score?

EXCERPT

The one good piece of advice my mom gave me concerning men is that their egos are huge yet fragile and it takes the delicate, yet strong touch of a woman to handle them.

Leave it to a man I know only by reputation to drive that point home.

Dallas sits in my office, an ice pack on his lip and the back of his head. To be nice, and since it was my fault he’s in pain in the first place, I’m holding the one on his head, so he can have at least one hand free.

“Sorry,” I say for what has to be the tenth time in the past twenty minutes. “I didn’t get to explain myself before, but I wasn’t laughing at you…well, it was at you, but not your pain. Pain is not funny. When I fell out of a tree and broke my wrist at the growth plate, I laughed the whole way there because that’s the only way I could deal with the pain. Finley didn’t order to me stop either.”

Dallas glances at me, his normally warm eyes icy. “Not sure how that helps.”

“Hopefully, it lets you know that I’m not laughing all willy-nilly.”

“Willy-nilly,” he mutters. “Who says willy-nilly?”

“I do, and to be honest, you’re not that soft. It actually hurt to fall on you.”

He arches a brow. “You weren’t exactly a pile of feathers.”

“Yeah… that’s not helping either.” I take the ice pack away and gently inspect the back of his head. “There’s a tiny,” he hisses, “bump here, but um, I’m sure if you go to the doctor that you’ll get fixed up in time for your next game.”

“You do realize that if I have a concussion, I can’t play this week.”

Slowly, I shake my head. “I didn’t know that.” Now I feel even worse for freaking out when I fell off the ladder. The dang thing is only three feet off the ground. I wasn’t falling to my death or into a pit of snakes.

I shiver.

Pushing away the thoughts of snakes and pits, I focus on Dallas. Although, I plan on making it up to him, I do need to say something about his sneaky ways.

“This could have been avoided altogether if you hadn’t sneaked up on me.”

His jaw works. “I spoke to let you know I was there, so I wasn’t sneaking up on you.”

This time, I’m the one arching a brow. “Next time, do you mind waiting until you’re standing on the ladder with me, or I don’t know… wait until I’m done with said ladder before scaring me to death?”

Dallas tosses the ice pack on my desk. “I guess you have a point.”

He’s agreeing with me? From my Google snooping, or Snoogling as I like to call it, everything about Dallas screams he is a cocky, confident man who has been known to argue with a referee a time or two. Then again, according to the article I read, Dallas argued with the ref over not throwing a flag for unnecessary roughness due to player being tackled after the whistle was blown. That kind of behavior, the other player’s, I mean, is considered very poor sportsmanship and worth some sort of penalization.

So maybe he was right to argue… and maybe I’m wrong to assume the worst about him. Even Finley says he’s not that bad, which for her is practically an endorsement.

But not for us to date—I’m not that stupid.

Or am I…?

“Is there any way I can make it up to you?” I ask. Yes, that is a hopeful tone in my voice. I do want to go out with him, try something new, and see what happens. Besides, it’s not like he’s going to ask me out again. That ship has sailed based on his grumpiness.

“Have drinks with me tonight at 451,” he says.

The ice pack I’m holding plops onto his head, and he grunts. “Sorry. Dang it.” I grab the pack and toss it onto my desk, where it slides precariously close to the edge. “Yes, I’d love to have drinks with you. My treat, of course, since I’m the cause of your injury and… you can send me any outstanding bills.”

“Why would I do that? You didn’t make me try to save you, and I sure as hell could have finessed my approach better.”

“Drinks only, then?”

“Appetizers, too. My treat.” His infamous grin curves his lips. “Don’t want you to think I’m trying to take advantage of you due to an empty stomach.”

So smooth. I eye him. “You might want to get your head looked at first because I’m pretty sure that alcohol and concussions don’t play nice together.”

He salutes me. “Will do.”

I fist my hands on my hips. “Did you come by here to see me, or to see the event space?”

He bites the unbruised side of his lip. “Would it bother you if I said both?”

My stomach flips at his answer. “No. I like honesty.”

“Then you’re going to love this,” he says with a serious look in his eyes that is in direct opposition of his tone, “because I need you to help me win a bet so a fellow teammate can get some mentoring.”

Intrigued, I reach across my desk and drag my office chair around. The floor is smooth and the feet have wheels, so it’s relative easy to do. Plus, I’m pretty sure Dallas is checking out my butt right now and I kind of like it.

Plopping down, I cross my legs and lean forward. “Tell me more.”

“You might not like it,” he warns.

“Do we have to kill anyone?”

His brows shoot up to his hairline. “No, but it’s kind of scary and insulting that you’d go there first.”

“Had to be asked.” I shrug.

Royal Affair, a sexy all-new STANDALONE from Marquita Valentine is available now!!!

A sheltered princess goes wild—and makes the best mistake of her life—when she falls for a roguish reporter in this fun, sexy romance from the bestselling author of Royal Scandal.

Online muckraker Brooks Walker has a reputation for exposing the political elite. Now he’s set his sights on the Sinclair siblings, who’ve been embroiled in their fair share of drama ever since their exile to North Carolina. But Brooks has never been afraid to get his hands dirty—until he meets a royal wallflower at a charity ball who makes him reconsider everything. Is Brooks feeling guilty because he knows all the sordid details of her family’s history? Or because he’s putting their relationship first, before his journalistic integrity?

As the “spare” twin, Princess Charlotte has always been the responsible one. So when her sister finally agrees to fulfill her duty as queen, Charlotte gives herself permission to break a few rules by flirting with the very off-limits CEO of Walker Media. Brooks is the worst sort of man to start an affair with, but Charlotte just can’t help it. The trouble is, since she’s no good at playing games, soon she’s tiara over heels in love. And when Brooks comes clean, Charlotte must decide whether his confession is worth a royal pardon.

EXCERPT

“I see.” He kisses me again, tenderly. Sweetly. It’s so confusing that I turn my face away from his.

“What do you see?”

“That you’ve been neglected more than I thought.”

“I don’t want your pity.”

He nuzzles the side of my neck, his mouth going lower and lower. “The last thing I feel for you is pity. Show me how you feel, Princess. Take my cock and put it where you want it the most—your hands, your pussy, your mouth … your ass.”

“You are so naughty,” I gasp, and he laughs.

“I came prepared for that, too,” he says in a low voice. “Up to you, though. Everything we do tonight is up to you.”

“Then I want to do this.” Guiding the head of his cock into me, I pause and say, “You’re very big.”

“All the better to fuck you with,” he says, but for some reason, he pulls out. “A real cock is a million times better than a magic wand.” He winks at me, and I want to sink into the mattress. Leaning over, he grabs something above my head before looking at me again. “What?”

I scowl harder at him, even though I’m very pleased he remembered protection when I didn’t.

Gosh, Charlotte, could you be any more idiotic?

“Don’t quote fairy tales to me.”

He drops his head beside my ear and whispers, “You love fairy tales, sweetheart.”

“But you did some creative talking and added a vibrator to it!”

“I can always go home.” After tearing open the package, he rolls the condom down his hard length. He strokes himself, his big hand wrapped around his large cock. My core pulses and throbs in anticipation. Mesmerized, I lick my lips. “No.””

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Charlotte is the wallflower princess. Her sister takes the throne while Charlotte is the "spare". But this allows Charlotte to live a little. And when I say live a little I mean do something that is totally unCharlotte-like for her. Brooks is the last person Charlotte should be getting involved with. His business is the news and the last place the Sinclairs need to be is in the news.

When Charlotte proposes a particular arrangement to Brooks, he cannot refuse her. They not only enjoy each other's company, but they get each other. Brooks sees a side to Charlotte that basically no one else sees and Charlotte knows that deep down Brooks is just doing what he needs to do to be successful. They each have qualities that the other has admired from afar, but now they can appreciate each other up close.

And appreciate they do! I freaking loved Charlotte and Brooks together. More often than not Charlotte is the most polite person on the planet. She can't help it. Even in the heat of the moment Charlotte is doling out compliments and acting all prim and proper. And Brooks...whoa baby. He is the whole package. Good looking. Successful. Sexy.Heart of gold. And most importantly, he is not afraid of the Sinclair family. That last one is the most important because when it comes down to it, that is quality he will need the most.

I LOVED this book. Charlotte and Brooks had amazing chemistry and being with him allowed her to be the person she wants to be. Some of my favorite moments in this book is when it is just the two of them just being themselves. Charlotte is able to let her hair down and show him that she is more than just the "spare princess". Of course Brooks thinks her to be way more than that and he shows/tells her every chance he gets. Of course there are a few kinks along the way to their happily ever after and I found those to be just as interesting at their relationship. And if you thought there were some family secrets in the first book, just wait until you read this one!
