Title: Get Lucky
Author: Lila Monroe
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 26, 2016
Blurb
What happens when you wake up in a hotel suite next to a gorgeous naked man with absolutely no memory of the past twelve hours?
I guess it's true what they say. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
Or at least I hope it stays here. The Romantic Style convention was meant to be a weekend of raucous fun with friends, sun, and enough poolside margaritas to forget about my ex. But now, instead of meeting my fans and signing books, I'm stuck with cocky divorce lawyer Nate Wexler. He's arrogant, infuriating, and I can't keep my hands off of him. Judging by the state of our hotel room, last night was wild. I just wish I could remember it.
A pair of matching tattoos. A cheap wedding veil. Half an empty box of glow in the dark condoms.
What the hell just happened?

My Review
I received an advanced copy of this book
in exchange for an honest review.
I knew I was going to enjoy this book by
the time I finished the first couple chapters. We meet Julia who wakes up in bed with a
man and she has no idea how she got there. The rest of the book is basically
Julia and Nate trying to figure out what happened.
Julia is a successful writer and is in
Vegas for a romance writers convention. Nate is a divorce lawyer, in town for a
friend's wedding. Julia is a bit of a free spirit who has just finalized her
divorce. Nate comes off as a cranky suit who had his heart broken not that
long ago. On the surface Julia and Nate appear to be very wrong for each other, but as
they try to figure what happened the night before, you start to realize that maybe they
could actually work as a couple. And when they are not bickering, they have
amazing chemistry. There's this scene where they go into
a utility closet and let's just say that I needed a cold shower by
the end of it. WOW.
I laughed a lot while reading this book. Both Julia and Nate have some pretty hilarious friends who pop up every so often and a few times I even laughed out loud. In public. (It's my curse living in NYC. I'm almost always on the subway when stuff like that happens.) And as a fellow Whovian I really appreciated the Doctor Who references, especially the
David Tennant ones. (I miss you Ten!) I loved the idea of him being her alter ego.
I groan as I flip on the lights and rush into the bathroom. I need a shower. That’s it. A good hot shower will stop the pounding headache. I look at the mirror over the sink, grimacing at my smeared eye makeup. Then, just to make sure, I pull down my skirt, turn around, and bam. Tattooed TARDIS, right square over my ass. My Whovian heart has led me astray at last.
“Well, Ten, here’s another fine mess you’ve gotten us into,” I grumble.
Confession: I like to imagine that the Tenth Doctor is kind of like the physical embodiment of my wild and crazy side. I mean, he’s played by David Tennant. How could he not be reckless?Love it! These two get up to some crazy stuff and the more they learn about their drunken shenanigans, the more they realize that they were wrong about their initial impressions of the other person. They even had some (sober) moments that were quite sweet. A few times in the book Julia wonders if Nate has a romantic bone in his body and by the end of the book she gets her answer. And all I will say is HOLY SWOON BATMAN!
Lila has given us another great book. If you are looking for a light read, with little drama and lots of laughs, this book is for you!
