Synopsis
Some people said that love and hate couldn't coexist. That such polarizing emotions could never be assigned to one singular thing at the same time. That much like roller coasters or Brussels sprouts, you either felt love or you felt hate, but never both. Common ground was nowhere to be found, forcing a person to pick a side.Olivia Quinn would tell those people they'd never met Asher Coleson.
Never met him. Never touched him. Never loved him.
And never hated him.
Asher Coleson hadn't always lived his life from the outside looking in. That neat little trick of the mind started somewhere around four years ago. Right about the time he'd gone to sleep one night living the American dream, and woken up the next morning in his own private nightmare.
Considering he was a front-lines defender of that American dream, it was irony at its best.
But that didn't change his life story.
Magic to tragic, in less time than it took paint to dry.

My Review
I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.
Asher and Olivia meet when he attends an event at his father's winery. The attraction is instantaneous. Insta-lust turned into insta-love which resulted in a marriage that seemed to be going great until tragedy struck. Now it is four years later and Olivia finds herself reaching out to Asher at the request of his father, who also happens to be her employer.
Gah! This book! I loved Olivia. She walked right into Asher's office, shocked the hell out of everyone (In a scene that I absolutely loved because let's be honest...you get all the guys together, not matter what the reason, and there is bound to be hilarious moments. And there is!) and found out that her husband is not ready to let go of what they had. Talk about shocking. They haven't said a word to each other in four years and thinks she is ready to finally move on from him, but he is not willing to let that happen.
Olivia is one strong lady. She struggled at first, but the way she dealt with their separation and how she slowly built herself back up after being utterly devastated was an amazing thing. It was heartbreaking to read, but even more heartbreaking was how Asher dealt with it. He's such a strong, stoic person and too see the other side of him brought me to tears more than once. Even Olivia found herself shocked when Asher shared things with her that she never knew.
Asher and Olivia go on quite the journey in this book. The love they had for each other never disappeared and rediscovering it was important not only to the possibility of reconciliation, but also to the healing process, which is a vital part of this story. There were a lot of unspoken things between them that needed to be said. Four years is a long time to not talk to someone and they are not the same people they were. Olivia and Asher had to get to know the people they are now, but also reconcile that with person they were four years ago. It is an emotional journey that will tug at your heartstrings and have you hoping that Olivia and Asher get their happily ever after.
I absolutely LOVED this book. I laughed. I cried. I didn't want it to end. I wasn't sure what Asher's story would be, but if I had to guess, it wouldn't have been this. ALL THE FEELINGS Y'ALL. All. The. Feelings.
And now this is the part where I thank the author because JASON IS NEXT. Thank you! I wrote about this guy when I reviewed book one, so I am REALLY excited to read this. So don't mind me, I'll just be over here waiting for it.

About the Author
My love for steamy romance began when I was in junior high. A friend and I came upon a dumpster of discarded paperbacks behind our small town's Ben Franklin store. Covers missing and each book torn in two, split right down the center of the spline, I scanned the pages for any love or lust words—and curse words, too. From that point on, I scoured the public library and our local discount store, devouring anything labeled romance. I said a tearfully grateful goodbye to Judy Bloom as Jackie Collins began ruling my world.I live with my high school sweetheart turned husband and our three, beloved DVR's, in the desert Southwest. Otherwise known as the surface of the sun during the summer.
My life long goals are to think before I speak, smile more and swear less, and actually weigh what my driver's license states I do. And I have been contemplating a hair color change for the last decade. I'm thinking red.
