My review

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Warning: The excerpt I chose is kind of spoilery, but it is one of my favorite moments in the book so I just had to share it. Read at your own risk.

Okay. I knew that Lily and Sawyer's book would be good, but I had no idea that I was going to want to reread it as soon as I finished. IT'S. SO. FREAKING. GOOD.

It was clear in the first book, My Perfect Mistake, that Lily and Sawyer liked each other. But at the time Lily had a long term boyfriend (which was well past it's expiration date) and Sawyer was definitely not a relationship guy. So he gives her a job and they becomes friends and coworkers. They see each other a couple times a month and while the sexual tension between the two of them is about as thick as it can be, they make it work. But I gotta tell ya, I was sexually frustrated for them! I may have yelled things like "KISS HER!!" or "KISS HIM!" or "OMG JUST DO IT ALREADY!" while reading. (Don't judge. You've done it too!)

Lily finally gets up the nerve to break off her relationship and suddenly she is available. When Sawyer hears the news he acts like a freaking bonehead and I wanted to reach into the book and smack him in the head. Lily goes away to lick her wounds and after a bit of soul searching, Sawyer comes to his senses.
“Hey, Lil.”
Those two words nearly send me toppling, and I drop my shopping bag.
Sawyer is here. In Belize. On my porch.
His short-sleeved button-down shirt blows in the breeze, his canvas shorts and sandals exactly what a vacationing man would wear. A vacationing man in Belize.
My eyes sting. Tears fall, and he rushes over and lifts my sunglasses onto my hair. He rubs the wetness with his thumbs, his brow pinched with worry. “What’s wrong?”
“You’re here,” is all I manage.
The sun suddenly seems brighter, my skin warmer.
He grins. “Yeah. A week was too long to wait until you got back. I wanted to have that talk sooner.”
Oh my freaking God, he’s here. “Yeah?”
“Yeah. You free right now? If you have plans, I can come back.”
His hands are still on my cheeks, his gaze traveling to my lips. And lower. He wouldn’t have flown six hours to tell me we can’t be together. There’s only one reason he came. “Now is good.”
“I was hoping you’d say that.”
Then he kisses me, deep and thorough, and colors burst behind my eyes. His thumbs travel to my jaw, his fingers curling into my neck as his lips move against mine. Perfection. Sweet, hot, delicious. Our tongues swirl as the kiss intensifies, a flurry of emotion—the rightness of it, how in tune our movements are—lightening my limbs. He groans, telling me everything I need to hear without saying a word, and I grip the fabric at his back.
Two soft kisses later, he pulls away. “That about covers it. Anything you’d like to add?”
Let's just say that Sawyer more than makes up for being a bonehead and this is where the book not only gets good, but I melted into a big ol' pile of Kimmy goo. Yeah....Kimmy goo.

These two as a couple...OH MY GOD. They were basically made for each other. Sawyer is witty (I loved his little superhero moments), caring, and it is clear he is head over heels for Lily. I mean the guy is just downright panty dropping sexy at times. And while Lily is shy, Sawyer brings the best out of her....in and out of the bedroom. They make a pact to say or do whatever they are feeling no matter where they are and that leads to some seriously hot moments. Like I I needed a cold shower and a panty change, hot.

Of course it is not smooth sailing for these two and there were some moments that were just heartbreaking. When Lily tells him her dirty little secret, he doesn't run, which is what she thought he would do. He just reassures her that he is there for her. But Sawyer is also dealing with his own demons and let's just say he makes some decisions that I WAS NOT a fan of. I cursed the author and made my feelings known <insert evil author laugh> on social media, but it was all worth it in the end.

I can't wait for the third book! Nico is a big ol' teddy bear of a guy and Raven has this whole tough girl exterior thing going on and I have a feeling they are going to be lots of fun!
