My Review

Okay. I don't think Rebecca is capable of writing a male character that I hate. Even the ones that I disliked, I eventually liked. She's like an Alpha male writing, wizard! First the Flight & Glory boys, and now Bash.

Six years ago, a forest fire changed the lives of everyone in Legacy. The town was completely destroyed and loved ones were lost. Fast forward to the present and Emerson has played a vital role in revitalizing Legacy and Sebastian is back to reestablish the one thing that a lot of the townspeople don't want: the Legacy Hotshot Crew.

But here's the thing: Six years ago Sebastian and Emerson were in love. But they were also very young and going through something that no one should ever have to deal with. They consummated that love, but the next morning Sebastian was gone and Emerson was left with a lot of questions and a shattered heart.

And even though Sebastian left town and Emerson never once heard from him, we learn that he never forgot her. He knew exactly what she was doing every step of the way. It was painfully obvious that neither of them had moved on from each other and no matter how much time passed, they never would be.

This story is a fantastic second chance romance! There were some light moments that made me laugh (Ryker is hilarious!) and some serious ones that made me all emotional. And of there were those moments that made me want to take a cold shower! But I think the most important thing about this story is the idea of the power of healing. The town rebuilt after the devastating fire, but it never really dealt with losing the hotshot crew. Sebastian return allowed them to not only do that, but also do what needed to be done to prevent a repeat of history.

I'm so glad that this is going to be a series. Rebecca introduces us to some great characters that I loved and want to know more about (Uhh, hello...KNOX!). Bring on the Legacy Hotshot Crew!
