RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Open Fire (Florida Glaze, #3) by ME Carter

His chestnuts will be roasting…

With just 24 hours to hang out with his dad, Becker Bell is determined to get home for Christmas. Things aren’t looking promising. Multiple delays are making it harder than necessary to get where he needs to be, leaving him frustrated and even worse… bored. That is, until a scattered redhead is knocked right off her feet in front of him.

Sloan Webster just wants to be with her family for the holidays. However, between security mishaps and several hours’ worth of delays, it seems the universe is against her. But when an unexpected good Samaritan offers his assistance, things begin looking up.

Maybe there’s time for a Christmas miracle after all…

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Sloan and Becker find themselves stranded at an airport, trying to get home for Christmas. Initially on their own, they discover they are on the same flight and have plenty of time to kill, so they spend it together. There isn't a ton to do in the airport, but they definitely find ways to entertain themselves and in the process, they get to know each other.

Now, there isn't a lot of spice in this book, but honestly, it didn't need it. But there is a lot of possibility of spice. It's clear that Sloan and Becker like each other, but their current situation is being stranded at the airport with lots of other people. And they are headed home to see family, but they will eventually be back in the same city. Lots of possibilities.

I started this book while I was on a couple hour bus ride and I was able to finish it while I was still on the bus ride. It was an absolute delight and I couldn't put it down!

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Trial by Fire (Florida Glaze Hockey #2) by M.E. Carter

Chemistry this explosive can’t stay hidden for long…

Prestyn Caine doesn’t want to be known as a “hotel princess.” She wants to be recognized by the men in her family for who she is - a strong and confident business woman. Instead, she finds herself banging on the glass ceiling her great-grandfather put in place long ago. As if that wasn’t enough, her one foray into dating ended with her accidentally being the “other woman.” Needless to say, her faith in men is dwindling quickly.

Nick Williams hates wearing the title of Tampa’s Bachelor of the Year. He shies from any additional publicity of being a professional hockey player. Even dating without being hounded by the media doesn’t seem like a possibility. It doesn’t help to discover the untoward way his sister’s marriage fell apart. Any ability he had to trust others is quickly evaporating.

Still, despite the tumultuous way their paths cross, Prestyn and Nick have an undeniable attraction. With their busy careers and mutual disdain for the spotlight, a no-strings attached non-relationship is an ideal setup for both of them.

As long as they can keep their feelings in check, it doesn’t matter how much things heat up… right?

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I love when "let's fake date to scratch an itch" is paired with "I definitely won't develop feelings for you". You know going in that the itch will not be scratched and there will be feelings developed. It's just so lovely to watch unfold.

Nick and Prestyn were both very likable characters. I loved him because he wasn't your stereotypical athlete. He was pretty sensitive and loved poetry. Prestyn was the only woman in the family business, trying to prove herself. She was a badass who knew what she wanted and went after it. And when these two get together their chemistry was off the charts.

Thanks to Nick's sister, Nick and Prestyn meet in a very unconventional way. And there is a little bit of rocky start to their arrangement, but thankfully they are able to work through their issues. Overall there was very little drama throughout the book and that just added to my enjoyment of this story.

Since Nick plays for the Florida Glaze we get characters that we met in the previous book as well as the enjoyable shenanigans they get up to. You don't need to read the previous book to enjoy this one, but you should definitely go back and read it if you haven't

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Under Fire by (Florida Glaze Hockey #1) M.E. Carter

Tempers are about to flare and sparks are about to fly…

Tucker Hayes is holding a grudge. After being unexpectedly traded from his beloved professional hockey team in San Antonio, he’s still trying to mesh with his new teammates in Tampa. It’s going fine, but that’s just it… fine.

Lacy Hawkins is holding a grudge of her own. She blames the man who left her alone five years ago and caused her dreams to die a slow and painful death. Now it takes all her energy everyday just to stay afloat.

When their paths unexpectedly cross again, drinks are thrown and anger becomes the norm. But Tucker and Lacy have to find a way to stop fanning the flames if they want to come out unscathed.

Because when you’re under fire, the innocent can get burned…

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I love the start of a new series! I have read the author's previous books, so I was already familiar with Tucker, but there is also a short story called Playing with Fire that came out before this essentially sets up this story. You don't have to read it before reading this one, but it is worth the read.

The thing I love about books by this author is that there is drama, but I never feel like it's too much drama. Don't get me wrong, I love a drama filled book, but I don't always want one or feel like the story warrants one.

Gah! Tucker is such a sweetheart. I just adored him. He had no problem stepping up and taking responsibility. And I really did enjoy Tucker and Lacy as a couple. I did get a little frustrated with Lacy and her doubts, but I understood why she had them. I just wish she had gotten over things a little earlier in the book. Because of those doubts, this book is a slow burn, which I liked, but I wanted a little more steam from them.

This book is sweet and a little sexy at times with a side of humor brought to you by some adorable children. A few familiar faces make cameos in this book and I always enjoy that. I look forward to the next book in this series!

Better than the Book: A Romantic Comedy (Charitable Endeavors #4) by M.E. Carter and Andrea Johnston

As you all know, With the Charitable Endeavors series, these two romance authors have committed to releasing each book with a significant portion of the release month proceeds being donated to charity.

Better than the Book is a funny celebrity romance featuring Hunter and Celeste, two individuals with a passion for the stage. That's why we're thrilled to designate a portion of the release month ebook proceeds to New York City Children's Theater! New York Children's Theater reaches children through their communities and education with stage productions, interactive workshops, and in-school residencies. Their mission is to demonstrate that engaging young people in the arts has a positive impact on their cognitive, emotional and social development, and furthers a lifelong appreciation of the arts. You can learn more about their program here NYCCT - NYC Children's Theater.

ABOUT THE BOOK

New York is where dreams come true. Or at least that’s what I’ve been told.

Despite my love of planning, my dream of working on Broadway and meeting my Hollywood superstar crush seem to be running into more brick walls than necessary. Still, I could never have anticipated my crush on Hunter Stone was just one Ambien trip from an unexpected reality.

Now, I find myself lost in his charms and enamored with his passion for acting. Beyond his good looks and brooding reputation is a man who sends my heart racing and leaves me wondering if fictional boyfriends are real.

***

Passion and drive have made all of my acting dreams a reality. All I’ve worked for is at my fingertips, but I can’t seem to settle. In my life or on my future.

Meeting Celeste Pumper… Pumper-Something was never part of my plan. Her own passion for the stage has reminded me of a life beyond the big screen and celebrity. Holding her in my arms and staring into her eyes should frighten me but instead I feel more solace than my lifestyle normally allows.

Our paths didn’t cross by happenstance. It was always meant to be. Sometimes truth is better than fiction and our story is better than the book.

COVER REVEAL: Model Behavior (Charitable Endeavors #3) by M.E. Carter and Andrea Johnston

Title: Model Behavior
Genre: Contemporary Romantic Comedy, Single Dad
Release date: 12/12/19

Charity: Wildlife Center of Texas https://wildlifecenteroftexas.org

He thinks he’s so perfect with his model behavior . . . and he just might be.

Reading and reviewing books is my hobby. Rescuing wildlife is my passion. It never occurred to me that both my hobby and passion would collide in the strangest of ways one day.

I was perfectly content in my quiet little world. Working, reading, and supporting my favorite authors left little time for dating or a relationship. Besides, when you take the horizontal mambo off the table, you sort of limit your prospects.

Then one night, Matthew Roberts in all his cover model glory blew into my life and swept me off my feet.

~

Life as a single dad is not for the weak. Especially when your daughter is a spunky six-year-old with a passion for singing and a weakness for baby animals. I’ve been strictly focused on being her dad and smiling for the camera to provide for her future. Having my abs splashed on the cover of romance novels hasn’t left much time for a personal life. Much to my mother’s dismay.

When a storm dropped—literally—a wild animal into my life, I knew there was one person who could help us—Carrie Myers. I just never expected her to save not only the small squirrel but to also find her way into my heart.

Sometimes the most unlikely person can be your greatest gift.

RELEASE BLITZ & 5 STAR REVIEW: Ear Candy by M.E. Carter and Andrea Johnston

Title: Ear Candy
Genre: Contemporary Romantic Comedy
Charity: The Guardians Foundation, Inc.

As you all know, with the Charitable Endeavors series, we have committed to releasing each book with a significant portion of the release month proceeds being donated to charity. With the release of Ear Candy, we have chosen THE GUARDIANS FOUNDATION. TGF is a non-profit located in north Idaho and was founded by Michael Shaw, a SSG in the Idaho National Guard. The mission of TGF is to utilize resources within the community to support veterans and their families to bring comfort, offer hope, and provide immediate assistance. TGF assists veterans in the state of Idaho and parts of Washington with shelter, emergency and unexpected expenses, transportation, education and job opportunities, and an outdoor sportsmanship program. We are honored to support such an amazing organization that supports veterans.

He’s the plot twist she didn’t hear coming.

Becoming a book narrator was never my goal. But if your deep voice tempts romance listeners to swoon and throw their proverbial panties at you, plans change.

When an unexpected chain of events rockets my easy-going and chill life in a completely different direction, I tackle it like I do everything—with humor, wit, and a little bit of my “Hawk Weaver” charm.

That’s not a hardship, though, because it means establishing a friendship with erotic romance author, Donna Moreno. She’s a game changer. In all the best ways.

~

As an over-thirty single woman who writes erotica for a living, you would think I spend my days fighting off every handsome, dirty-mouthed billionaire in a twenty-mile radius. I don’t. Sure, I have a checklist for my ideal man who I write in my books. I just haven’t found “the one” in the real world.

Todd Chimolski may not check all the boxes on my current list, but there’s something to be said for a friend who makes you laugh and puts on a suit to make all your fantasies come true. Hearing him bring the words I’ve written to life is nothing short of an eargasm, and that’s a box I didn’t know I needed checked.

What happens when the woman who writes sexy romance and the man who narrates it build a friendship that quickly turns to more?

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

We get another "insider's view" with this book. Donna is trying to branch out with her writing and take more risks. Todd, aka Hawk Weaver, is a narrator who currently only works for his best friend Aggi. He likes to keep his identity a secret, but after attending a signing with Aggi, Donna (who absolutely LOVES Hawk Weaver) figures out who he really is. Donna finds herself very intrigued by him and before she knows it, she is learning A LOT more about Todd.

After Aggi convinces Donna to get away for a writing retreat, Donna finds herself alone in a cabin the woods. Okay, well she's not alone as Todd is there. The two end up spending time together an Donna realizes that Todd is nothing like she thought. Let's just say she that she should have never judged a book by it's cover.

I loved everything about this book. I found myself smiling like an idiot for most of it because it just made me so happy! Donna and Todd had great chemistry and I absolutely LOVED the banter between the two of them. I've said it before and I will say it again, good banter can be used as a form of foreplay and it definitely was in this book.

5 Star Review: Switch Stance by ME Carter and Andrea Johnston

A #MyNewLife & Country Road Series Crossover Standalone

I, Agnes Sylvester, a successful author known as Adeline Snow to the romance community, enjoy the simple things in life: watching the X Games with my childhood friend Todd; taking pictures of interesting buildings; and creating stories based on fantasies about my favorite skateboarder, Spencer Garrison. I’m known for my extreme sports stories, and as long as no one ever figures out he’s my muse, all is well.

But fate has never liked me and now that muse is standing in front of me. Asking me to sign a book.

What.
Is.
Happening!?!

“Extreme Sports Superstar” is the term the media has used to describe me over the years. I prefer to just be Spencer Garrison, a small-town guy who happens to ride a skateboard for a living and is known for philanthropy.

Nearing retirement, I’m focusing on my non-profit efforts and building a life outside of a professional athlete. My agent won’t let me retire in peace and consequently a talented and kindhearted woman stumbles her way into my life.

Sometimes happy endings aren’t written. They’re lived.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I loved the idea of an author coming face to face with her muse. In this case, Aggi, aka Adeline Snow, meets her muse, Spencer Garrison, the extreme sports star. And the way they meet is fantastic. Spencer accompanies his sister to a signing and from the minute he sees Aggi, he can't stop thinking about her. Meanwhile, Aggi cannot believe that she is actually meeting her muse. And embarrassing herself in front of him. Repeatedly. And then she has to go on tour with him. No, really.

There is so much to like about this book. Aggi and Spencer are wonderful characters that you can't help but love. At first Aggi thinks that there is no way that Spencer could actually like her, but as they start to spend more time together, she starts to see Spencer for the regular guy he is. Sure, he might be a famous athlete, but he's very down to earth and finds Aggi to be unlike anyone he's ever met before. And he loves that. They have a fun, playful relationship that made me think #relationshipgoals pretty much the whole time. Because y'all...Spencer is the SWEETEST and amazing book boyfriend material.

One of the things I also loved about this book is the whole "insiders view" of attending a book signing. We get Aggi's point of view as an author and then Spencer's as a "reader". I laughed out loud more than once because I thought "Yup. Exactly!" It was a fantastic nod to something that I could relate to, but it was also so much fun!

While this is a crossover book of sorts, you do not need to have read either series to enjoy this book. I admit that I have not read Andrea's books, but it didn't matter.

At the time of this posting, 50% of proceeds from the sale of this book was going to charity, so you can't go wrong. You'll get a fun story and also help out a great cause!
