RELEASE BLITZ & 4 STAR: Stay for Me (The Arrowood Brothers #4) by Corinne Michaels

Hollywood taught me everything I know about relationships—except how to be in one. As an actor, I became an expert at faking it. Faking that I wasn't affected by my childhood. Faking that I was okay. Faking that I knew how to save the day, the girl, the whole damn world.

But I've always known the truth—I’m no one's hero.

Until I’m forced to move back to Sugarloaf for six months, and Brenna Allen offers me a chance to prove otherwise. She’s everything I never knew I wanted, but can't have. Her broken heart, perfect face, and adorable children turn my world upside down. Instead of preparing for my next leading role, I’m directing a middle school play.

All to make her smile.

The more time I spend here, the more I want to stay. Build a life in this town that I swore I’d leave—for her.

But when the world comes crashing down around us, I’m forced to decide if staying for her is the right choice or if leaving is better for the woman I love.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I've been waiting for Jacob's book and I was not disappointed! He's the last Arrowood boy to come home and like his brothers before him, he thinks that he will serve his six months and move on. But if you've read the previous books, you will know that that is not how things played out for his brothers. Of course he thinks he will be the exception, but then he meets Brenna.

I loved Jacob and Brenna. They both know that getting involved was a terrible idea, but they also realized that being just friends was impossible. They stayed "just friends" as long as they could until they just couldn't do it anymore.

My favorite thing about this book was that we finally had all the Arrowood boys in one place at the same time and it was wonderful. I loved the relationship between all of them, especially when they are teasing each other. As soon as they all realize that Jacob is going through what they all went through, they're supportive, but they also tell him that he needs to be careful considering Brenna's recent personal loss. Nothing like some brotherly love to help him through things.

This book is a great ending to the series, but we do meet a character who will be getting her own book! I won't say anything else, but an important even that occurs in this book makes way for a future Corinne Michaels' book and I can't wait to read it!

I haven't seen her in three years.

I haven't talked to her since the kiss.

So why am I on a plane, flying across the world to spend a week with her in Germany?

One word: Pops.

My life’s a mess.

My possible football career is hanging on by a thread.

I'm driving the roads of Germany in honor of Pops with the one girl I can never have.

And I’m sharing a bed with her, the girl I've measured everyone else up to, while desperately trying to not to touch her.

We made a pact growing up, never to get romantic with each other - never fall in love.

And I'm about to break that pact. For good.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

This is more like it! Meghan's last release wasn't my cup of tea and that was the first time that has happened, so I was ready to jump into another Meghan Quinn book.

This book is FANTASTIC. I am a sucker for a friends to lovers story and this one was so good. Crew and Hazel were childhood friends who, as they got older, grew apart, but they still had one thing in common: Crew's grandfather. And when he passes away and sends Hazel and Crew on a road trip, they them find themselves on a trip of a lifetime in Germany.

Having said that, Germany was basically another character in the book. The trip they go on was very carefully planned and every stop and activity had meaning. It wasn't always obvious to Crew and Hazel what that meaning was, but it was always there.

This book is very fun, but it is also an emotional journey that will give you all the feels. And we also get to visit with some of Meghan's previous characters and it was so nice to see them again.

USA Today Bestselling Author, wife, adoptive mother, and peanut butter lover. Author of romantic comedies and contemporary romance, Meghan Quinn brings readers the perfect combination of heart, humor, and heat in every book.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

CW: addiction, on page drug use, death of a loved one, two instances of physical violence

This is an excellent book, but a hard one to read. An excellent book that I actually had to put down for a few days before I could pick it up and start reading again. 2020 has been a giant trash fire and and I've tried to read mostly all happy books. When I started this book I knew that at some point it was get complicated and a bit dark, but it wasn't until I started to get to that point that I knew I had to step back until I was mentally ready for it. I even had the thought that maybe I wasn't going to finish it, but I'm glad that I did.

A lot happens in this book and I won't unpack everything that happens, but I will say this: Vinny and Andy were a mess from the start. They were both dealing with things in their lives in unhealthy ways and I knew that eventually it would all come to a head. I do admit that I was a bit shocked as to how it all played out, so props to the author for keeping me on my toes.

I said in a previous review, that when you read a Kelsey Kingsley book, you get much more than a love story. She manages to go beyond the surface story and gives us so much more. This book is no exception.

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: See Me After Class by Meghan Quinn

SEE ME AFTER CLASS by Meghan Quinn
Release Date: November 12th
Genre: Romantic Comedy

"Did you have relations with my brother . . ."

Good question.

I’d like to preface this by saying it was never my intention to ever get involved in a workplace romance, let alone get involved with the most surly, agitating, and pompous man I’ve ever met who just so happens to be my new friend’s brother.

My intentions were to show students how English and reading books could actually be fun and make a new life for myself in the suburbs of Chicago.

But so far, I’ve managed to be called into the principal’s office.

Coerced into participating in the teacher's badminton league.

And instigated into passionate fights with Arlo Turner over education and decorum while losing my underwear at the same time.

Known as Mr. Turns Me On, he’s the reason I might get fired from my first ever teaching job.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I know I am going to be in the minority with this one and I can't believe I am about to say this, but *deep breath* I did not like Arlo. I love the grumpy/sunshine trope, but I honestly thought Arlo was a jerk. And not to mention he does something in this book that just pissed me off and I wanted to throat punch him afterwards. He was mean and incredibly rude to Greer for a big portion of the book and not even his amazing grovel could redeem him in my eyes. *sigh* It really does pain me to say it and I'm bummed about it, but that's where I'm at.

Having said that, I did like Greer (I wanted so much more for her!), the other members of the Ladies in Heat Book Club as well as the rest of the characters in this book. We get even get a couple great cameos of some previous beloved characters. The book was filled with the author's signature humor and I did find myself laughing out loud more than once.

The author also planted plenty of seeds for future books and even though I didn't care for this one I'm definitely on board for everyone else's books.

PROLOGUE

**GREER**

“Before we get started, I’ve been told I need to ask you a question.” Stella sits cross-legged in front of me, a nervous look on her face, water in hand.

“Oh?” I ask, trying to act casual as I bring my glass of red wine to my lips. I have a scary inkling what this might be about.

She glances over at Coraline and winces. “Uh, I feel weird asking.”

Oh God . . . I was right.

Shifting, I say, “You know, we don’t have to—”

“Then why bring it up if you’re not going to propose your query?” Keiko asks impatiently while pushing her green-rimmed glasses up on her nose. “You know the frequency of these meetings is dependent upon staying within the comprehensive itinerary I composed during my lunchbreak.”

“Cool your bloomers, Keeks,” Coraline says while taking a large sip from her wine glass. “I want to know what’s making Stella so fidgety.”

The four founding members of the Ladies in Heat Book Club—aka my mismatched collection of friends—each bring diverse and unique character traits to our group.

Keiko “Keeks” Seymour—resident AP chemistry teacher at Forest Heights High School. Her social etiquette is lacking, her intelligence is off the charts, and she’d rather play with beakers than penises. She wasn’t thrilled about the book club name and made a noble attempt to explain why her suggestion, the Austen Empowerment Collaborative, was far more credible. Majority ruled, she lost.

Stella Garcia—Spanish teacher at Forest Heights and my co-coach. Currently single, makes the best tamales I’ve ever had, and is one stamp away from getting a free donut at Frankie Donuts. Can be shy at times, but when it comes to her family and friends, she doesn’t take shit from anyone. Loyal to the core, one of the reasons I adore her.

Coraline “Cora” Turner—recent divorcée and living with her brother, Arlo. Jobless at the moment and couldn’t care less about it since both she and Arlo have enough inheritance to last them a lifetime. Often annoyed by her older brother or annoying him, doesn’t partake in Twitter—says it’s a filthy pool of opinions, and is the first to offer up a bottle of wine.

Then there’s me . . .

Greer Gibson—twenty-four-year-old fresh to the teaching scene as Forest Heights’s new English teacher and women’s volleyball coach. I love running, have a penchant for a man in a cardigan, and can get a little noisy in the classroom while teaching. I currently share a classroom wall with Arlo Turner, Forest Heights most prestigious English teacher, and might have lost my underwear—

“Out with it, Stella,” Cora says, snapping at her.

“Please, so we can proceed,” Keeks says, straightening her notepad on her lap.

Stella looks me in the eyes and says, “Brock wants to know if there’s anything going on between you and Turner. Apparently, Turner won’t say a thing, but Brock thinks there’s some strong sexual tension building.”

Cora whips her head to me, her eyes wide. “Are you getting it on with my brother?”

Finger pointed in the air, Keeks leans in and says, “The proper term amongst company would be coitus.”

Rolling her eyes, Cora asks, “Did you have coitus with my brother?”

“You could also say intercourse if that amuses your jargon more,” Keeks adds. “Or copulating would be sufficient. But if you are inclined toward romantic terminology, since we are in the presence of the book club, you could say lovemaking or performing intimate acts. Although, given the circumstances of when coitus took place—in the work environment—I would deduce that your actions were performed carnally rather than with the interest of developing a devoted accord.”

“Good God, Keeks,” Cora says, irritated. “Who cares what it’s called? We just want to know if it happened.” Cora looks me in the eyes. “Did it?”

Did it . . .

Good question.

I’d like to preface this by saying it was never my intention to ever get involved in a workplace romance when I was hired at Forest Heights, let alone get involved with the most surly, agitating, and pompous man I’ve ever met.

My intentions were to show students how English and reading books could actually be fun, bring the volleyball team to a state championship, and make a new life for myself in the suburbs of Chicago.

But so far, I’ve managed to be called into the principal’s office.

Infiltrate the teachers’ athletic league.

And had passionate fights with Arlo Turner over education, decorum, and student-teacher friendships.
Not to mention I’ve lost my panties to him in my dreams more than I care to admit.

Why did this all happen?

Simple.

The man dresses in a cardigan, that’s how.

Arlo Turner. The bane of my existence, annoyance to my sanity, and the only man who’s ever made me want to spread my legs in a classroom.

He’s torn down my metaphorical walls, strapped on a cottony cardigan—pushed up the sleeves—and has driven me to the brink of insanity, so now whenever I hear the mention of his name, my legs automatically spread, and my heartrate picks up.

Known as Mr. Turns Me On, he’s the reason my star athlete is struggling to keep her grades up.

He’s the reason I tend to avoid the teacher breakroom.

And he’s the reason I might get fired from my first ever teaching job.

RELEASE BLITZ & 4 STAR REVIEW: Warning Track (Callahan Family #1) by Carrie Aarons

Colleen Callahan is exactly where she’s always dreamt of being.

From a young age, she’s been groomed to take over as general manager of the Packton Pistons, her family’s professional baseball dynasty. Except she never expected her father would have to go to prison for the role to become hers.

The public, and even her own family, are counting on the first female to wear the title to fail. Hoping to wipe the slate clean and clear the club’s name, Colleen vows to put her job above everything else. Friends, a social life, her well-being, and most of all, love.

Until she meets the team’s new star player. Their chemistry is instant, igniting the stadium and her heart. But the last thing she needs is a distraction, much less a surly God of the clay diamond who seems to despise her.

Fate has other plans, though. If they’re found out, it could mean the end of both of their careers. Except hurtling so close to the danger zone has never felt more right.

Hayes Swindell would prefer hell over the place he ended up.

After a series of bribes and blackmail gone bad, the league’s most desirable veteran superstar finds himself playing on a team that he wants no part of. The family who runs this dynasty is corrupt, and he’s spent his career avoiding limelight exactly like this.

With a chip on his shoulder and the intention to hightail it out of Pennsylvania as soon as his one-year contract is up, he has no plans to fall for the very woman he should stay away from.

In his ten years in the league, he’s never once gotten bit by the love bug. But the moment he lays eyes on her, Hayes can see his days are numbered. When the forbidden happens, he has a decision to make.

Should they head for disaster together, risking it all, or course-correct and save themselves the ultimate price of heartbreak and scandal?

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I always enjoy the start of a new series. New people. New locations. New storylines. But then add in the fact that it takes place in the world of Major League Baseball and I am all in! I love sports romances.

I really loved Colleen. She was such a badass boss lady! Her moving into the general manager position was under terrible conditions and she handled it so well. She definitely had the whole "You will not tell me what to do" attitude down and had no problem telling people that.

I wasn't a huge fan of Hayes at first. He was a little too cranky towards Colleen. Sure, she was a Callahan, but she had nothing to do with the scandal. Yes, I understood WHY he was cranky, but she didn't deserve it. He also had one foot in the "she can't do this job" camp, which annoyed me as well. But fortunately it didn't take long for him to realize how misguided his feelings were.

Once Colleen and Hayes got together, I was totally on board with them. Hayes really was a great guy and he was totally invested in the relationship once it started. I did keep waiting for the other shoe to drop because I knew it was inevitable.

Now that we have met the Callahan family and members of the Packton Pistons I cannot wait for the rest of the series. We meet two people in this book that I am VERY curious about and I cannot wait for their story!

COVER REVEAL - It Happened One Summer by: A Novel Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey is back with a Schitt’s Creek-inspired rom-com about a Hollywood “It Girl” who’s cut off from her wealthy family and exiled to a small Pacific Northwest beach town... where she butts heads with a surly, sexy local who thinks she doesn’t belong.

Piper Bellinger is fashionable, influential, and her reputation as a wild child means the paparazzi are constantly on her heels. When too much champagne and an out-of-control rooftop party lands Piper in the slammer, her stepfather decides enough is enough. So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father’s dive bar... in Washington.

Piper hasn’t even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won’t last a week outside of Beverly Hills. So what if Piper can’t do math, and the idea of sleeping in a shabby apartment with bunk beds gives her hives. How bad could it really be? She’s determined to show her stepfather—and the hot, grumpy local—that she’s more than a pretty face.

Except it’s a small town and everywhere she turns, she bumps into Brendan. The fun-loving socialite and the gruff fisherman are polar opposites, but there’s an undeniable attraction simmering between them. Piper doesn’t want any distractions, especially feelings for a man who sails off into the sunset for weeks at a time. Yet as she reconnects with her past and begins to feel at home in Westport, Piper starts to wonder if the cold, glamorous life she knew is what she truly wants. LA is calling her name, but Brendan—and this town full of memories—may have already caught her heart.

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the workforce as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eleven years and seven-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

ABOUT THE BOOK

New York is where dreams come true. Or at least that’s what I’ve been told.

Despite my love of planning, my dream of working on Broadway and meeting my Hollywood superstar crush seem to be running into more brick walls than necessary. Still, I could never have anticipated my crush on Hunter Stone was just one Ambien trip from an unexpected reality.

Now, I find myself lost in his charms and enamored with his passion for acting. Beyond his good looks and brooding reputation is a man who sends my heart racing and leaves me wondering if fictional boyfriends are real.

***

Passion and drive have made all of my acting dreams a reality. All I’ve worked for is at my fingertips, but I can’t seem to settle. In my life or on my future.

Meeting Celeste Pumper… Pumper-Something was never part of my plan. Her own passion for the stage has reminded me of a life beyond the big screen and celebrity. Holding her in my arms and staring into her eyes should frighten me but instead I feel more solace than my lifestyle normally allows.

Our paths didn’t cross by happenstance. It was always meant to be. Sometimes truth is better than fiction and our story is better than the book.

COVER REVEAL: The Christmas Blanket by Kandi Steiner

Surprise! Author Kandi Steiner has a Christmas novella, The Christmas Blanket releasing November 5th, and we have the gorgeous cover!

From bestselling author Kandi Steiner comes a cozy second-chance romance about love, loss, and adventure...

When I decided to surprise my family in Wellhaven, Vermont for Christmas, I never could have known that I'd get a surprise of my own -- in the form of an unexpected blizzard.

I haven't been home in four years, not since I left this town with my eyes set on adventure.

And my heart set on forgetting the only man I’ve ever loved.

River Jensen -- my ex-husband.

I don't plan on seeing him during my visit. I definitely don't plan on him saving me when my little rental car slides off the icy road. And the last thing I could have ever prepared for is being stuck in a tiny cabin with him, waiting out the storm.

Four years have passed since I've seen him -- the boy I loved, now a man I don't know at all.

But being stuck inside with him leaves us nothing but time together.

Everything about him has changed, and yet, he still has the same forest green eyes that have haunted me since I left. Back then, we were at an impasse. Back then, there was nothing left to talk about, nothing left to fix. Back then, the only choice I had was to leave and start anew.

But the more I re-discover the man I left behind, the more I question why I ever left at all.

And if I’m too late to find my way back home.

The Christmas Blanket is a stand-alone holiday novella set in a snowy small town in Vermont.

Kandi Steiner is a bestselling author and whiskey connoisseur living in Tampa, FL. Best known for writing "emotional rollercoaster" stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance -- in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you're a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she's your gal.

An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women's Studies. She started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her "freedom of press." She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs.

When Kandi isn't writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys live music, traveling, anything heavy in carbs, beach days, movie marathons, craft beer and sweet wine -- not necessarily in that order.
