My "go to book list" and a GIVEAWAY!

Everyone once in a while I will finish a book and I'm not quite ready to pick up a new one. But I still want to read, so I go back to a book I have already read. A book that I already know and love want to read again. I may not read the whole thing over again, but just skim some of my favorite parts.

Below are some of those books that I go back to time and time again.

Don't forget to enter the giveaway at the end of this post!

Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

This book gave me a MASSIVE book hangover and it remains of the best things I have ever read.

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

Unfixable by Tessa Bailey

I love everything Tessa writes, but this book is one of my favorites. Shane is a Formula One race car driver who also happens to be a sexy Alpha with an Irish accent.  SOLD.

He's the last thing she wants…but the only thing she needs.

Willa Peet isn't interested in love. She's been there, done that, and has the shattered heart to prove it. Ready to shake the breakup, she heads to Dublin, Ireland. But there's a problem. A dark-haired, blue-eyed problem with a bad attitude that rivals her own. And he's not doling out friendly Irish welcomes.

Shane Claymore just wants to race. The death of his father forced him off the Formula One circuit, but he's only staying in Dublin long enough to sell the Claymore Inn and get things in order for his mother and younger sister. He never expected the sarcastic American girl staying at the inn to make him question everything.

But even as Willa and Shane's fiery natures draw them together, their pasts threaten to rip them apart. Can Shane give up racing to be with the woman he loves, or will Willa's quest to resurrect the tough-talking, no-shit-taking girl she used to be destroy any hope of a future together?

Indiscretion Series by Elisabeth Grace

There is a scene in this book that is probably one of the sexiest things I have ever read. Let's just say I can't even think about massages without thinking of this book.

F*ck and chuck. Pump and dump. Hit it and quit it. One night stand. Didn’t matter how I branded it—that’s all she had wanted it to be. That much was clear when she left me with my pants down and my dick still out.

What she hadn’t counted on was fate intervening and our worlds colliding—again.

The day I showed back up in the life of Chloe Griffins, I knew I had to have her again. My body was hungry for another taste. Like an addict, I’d been craving another hit for months, and there she was—flesh and bone, tits and ass.

The fact that she worked for the competition should’ve been reason enough for me to leave her alone. I had a job to do that summer and f*cking Chloe wasn’t part of it. But I was like a man possessed.

I’d do whatever it took to have her again.

Worth the Fall by Claudia Connor

Matt McKinney fell in love with Abby and her children pretty much the moment he met them. And then I fell in love with him.

They meet on a beach. . . . Abby Davis isn’t wearing a skimpy bikini or sipping umbrella drinks, not when she’s busy chasing around four little ones. And Matt McKinney isn’t looking for fun—he’s a Navy SEAL, a grown man with a long list of missions . . . and fallen brothers.

They only have a week. . . . Abby has brought her children to this beach to start over, to give them the enjoyable memories they deserve. Matt’s been sidelined by a combat injury, and haunted by the best friend he lost and the promise he made: to remain a SEAL—focused and dedicated. This leaves no time for what he’s always wanted: a family.

But a week is all it takes. . . . Matt opens her heart while Abby soothes his soul. And though they plan to say good-bye when the week is over, something magical happens on that beach, something neither can forget. Something utterly, completely worth falling for.

Locke by Harper Sloan

There is just something about Maddox Locke that made me love him even before Harper wrote his book. He makes appearances throughout the whole series, but once I read his story, he cemented his spot on my book boyfriend list.

Darkness is the only thing I see. Ever since the day my life changed. The day that everything and everyone I held close to me ceased to exist. The day I lost it all and the demons of my past consumed my every waking moment.

I tried to keep others at arm’s length. Tried not to let my darkness taint them. Ruin them. Harm them. And whether I want to admit it or not, as much as I wish I could keep them locked out, they refuse to leave. Refuse to let me suffer alone.

If I hadn’t been so focused on keeping those demons from flying free, I wouldn’t have missed how one perfect angel was able to sneak her way under my skin—refusing to let go. Making me want things I don’t deserve.

She consumes me. Her beauty knows no end. The love she promises tempts me every time she’s near. But that pure heart that makes her MY Emmy is the one thing I’m convinced I’ll destroy if I ever let her close.

I’m a broken man. A broken man with too much darkness in his soul to ever let her light shine upon me. But even that doesn’t stop me from craving her with every single breath in my body.

Start Me Up by Victoria Dahl

Victoria Dahl knows how to write a sexy book, but for me, this one may be her sexiest. It's a friends to lovers book that has them acting out the sex scenes from the books the heroine reads. Pretty much the definition of HOT.

Lori had always planned to get out of tiny Tumble Creek, Colorado, but when her late dad left her his beloved auto body shop, she'd stayed. Now, according to her crazy best friend, Molly, what Lori needs is some excitement, in the form of hot, no-strings-attached sex...and lots of it.

Quinn Jennings has buildings on the brain--not love and romance. A serious architect, he's delighted to discover that Lori is willing to skip dating protocols and head straight for the sheets. And aided by the steamy books on Lori's bedside table, he's busy indulging both of their wildest fantasies. But when life in Tumble Creek takes a dangerous turn for Lori, Quinn's protective instincts kick in.

Suddenly he cares. More than either of them ever expected...

Charlotte Chronicles by Jen Frederick

This story of true love destroyed me. The author released a new chapter in a weekly newsletter and it quickly became the first thing I read when I woke up on Friday morning.

Charlotte and Nathan were supposed to be forever. They grew up together. Their families were intertwined. Charlotte was Nathan's first love. Nathan was Charlotte's first everything.

Until they weren't.

How do you hold on to the person you know in your heart you are supposed to be with when everything and everyone in the universe is telling you it's over?

How many times does a heart break?
When is enough…..enough?
How long is forever?

Beautiful Player by Christina Lauren

WILL. AND. HANNA. This book is my favorite of the Beautiful Bastard series. These two were ridiculously hot (Nerds can be sexy too!) and I can't wait until their next books comes out. Is it 2016 yet?

A bombshell bookworm. A chronic Casanova. And a lesson in chemistry too scandalous for school.

When Hanna Bergstrom receives a lecture from her overprotective brother about neglecting her social life and burying herself in grad school, she’s determined to tackle his implied assignment: get out, make friends, start dating. And who better to turn her into the sultry siren every man wants than her brother’s gorgeous best friend, Will Sumner, venture capitalist and unapologetic playboy?

Will takes risks for a living, but he’s skeptical about this challenge of Hanna’s…until the wild night his innocently seductive pupil tempts him into bed- and teaches him a thing or two about being with a woman he can’t forget. Now that Hanna’s discovered the power of her own sex appeal, it’s up to Will to prove he’s the only man she’ll ever need.

Review: Beautiful Beloved (Beautiful Bastard #3.6) by Christina Lauren

Synopsis

In Beautiful Stranger , finance whiz Sara Dillon met the irresistibly sexy Brit, Max Stella, at a New York City club. Through the series we’ve watched them learn to balance commitment with their less than private brand of playfulness. In Beautiful Beloved, Max and Sara take it to the next step. But the question is: Will they be able to find a balance between the wild sexcapades they aren’t ready to retire, and the demands of parenthood that come along with their new Beautiful bundle of joy? Parenthood: it’s not for the weak of heart.

My Review

So this book is like one giant aching ovary inducing story. Max being cute with the baby. Will being cute with the baby. (I'm gonna need more of that. Thanks.) And it turns out Niall is basically a freaking baby whisperer. Holy crap. Not gonna lie...I would read a book that was only the men being all adorable with the baby.

But, there is an actual story in 'Beautiful Beloved." It's 4 months after baby Anna was born and Max and Sara are trying to get their relationship back to "normal." While trying to go out on romantic dates and get some alone time together (one particular scene had me laughing hysterically), they suffer some hilarious mishaps. They finally come to the conclusion that they are back to normal, it's just a new normal.

This book also gave us an introduction to Max's brother Niall, who is the subject of their next book "Beautiful Secret." I can't wait to read his story...he intrigues me. (And hopefully get more Niall & Anna time!)

Kimmy's Book Boyfriend List - Part 1

Of course I love all my book boyfriends equally. Kind of. Okay, maybe not, but I do love them all. These are the guys that make me audibly sigh when I think about them. And if you are reading this, you probably know exactly what I am talking about.

These guys may not always make the best choices and I may have wanted to give them a good Gibbs smack, but I still love 'em. Not sure what I mean by a Gibbs smack?  Here you go:

Haven't we all wanted to do that? Trust me...it comes in handy when discussing characters with your fellow book lovers.

Now keep in mind...this is only part of the list. It was getting so long that I knew I would never get around to posting the darn thing, so I'm breaking it up. 5 delicious men at a time. And in no particular order.

1. Wyatt

While reading "City of Champions" I started using #wyattistheswooniest when discussing this book. Enough said.
"You and me? We're going to happen, Doc. I'm not afraid to wait. I'm pretty sure you'll be worth it." He let his lips brush her earlobe, sending a shock wave through her body. Then, before Jenna could even fight to get her bearings back, he leaned away and stood to his full height. "See you later, Doc. You too, ladies." As he walked out, Jenna clutched her yoga mat and tried to appear under control.

2. Will

Not gonna lie....part of me wanted to go running in Central Park just to see if I could find my own Will. And I don't run...EVER.  Will is that HOT.

I bet I can make you come like this,” I said, and slid two fingers carefully inside, feeling her squeeze me. I brushed my nose against hers. “Tell me. Do you like my fingers here? Fucking you?”
“Will . . . you’re so dirty.”
I laughed, nibbling at her jaw. “I think you like dirty.”
“I think I’d like your dirty mouth between my legs,” she said softly.
I groaned, moved my hand faster and harder into her.
“Do you think about it?” she asked. “Kissing me there?”
“I have,” I admitted. “I think about it and wonder if I’d ever come up for air.”

3. Archer

This book is probably one of the best books I've ever read and you know why?ARCHER HALE.

“What are your dreams, Archer?" I whispered, wanting to know what was in his heart.
He looked at me for another couple beats and then pushed himself back onto his knees and pulled me up so that I was straddling his lap. I smiled at him, wrapping my arms around his neck, but pulling back to let him speak.
He brought his hands up and said, "I didn't know enough to dream you, Bree, but somehow you came true anyway. How did that happen? He rubbed his nose along mine, pausing and then pulling back again. Who read my mind and knew exactly what I wanted, even when I didn't?”

4. Nathan

Oh Nathan. Nathan. Nathan. Nathan. He is probably the one I wanted to Gibbs smack the most, but I don't think I have read a book where the guy stayed as loyal to the woman he loves as Nathan did.
“This letter is a mess of words, a jumble of thoughts. Maybe there’s not a coherent sentence in the above paragraphs. There is only one thing you need to know. I have never stopped loving you. You have always been first in my heart even when my actions didn’t convey that message.
I come to you, on my knees, beseeching you for forgiveness to give me one more chance to show you that I am a man worthy of your heart. I will spend the rest of my days proving to you with my body, with my heart that I am the Nathan of the Charlotte and Nathan that we were meant to be."

5. Evan

His book isn't even out yet (release date is next week, 1/27/15), but I am putting him on this list. Evan Downey is a smart, sexy, loving, funny, tattooed, single father.  And he knows how to treat a lady.

He kissed her again, then grinned against her lips. “So fucking sexy. Let go, baby.” His hand reached between their bodies to clasp her wrist and increase her speed and pressure, and she felt herself going over.
“Evan.” She tried to speak, but it was more of a high-pitched squeak. “Evan.”
“I know, Ace. You need it. Take it.” He kissed her again, guiding her arm with one hand while the other clasped her butt and his chest rubbed against her sensitized nipples. “Take it. You deserve it.”
“For you,” she heard herself say, cresting, the wave nearly rolling over and drowning her beneath.
“For me, baby,” he agreed.

Review: Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren (Wild Season #2)

Synopsis

Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other...which would explain why their marriage lasted only twelve hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman—or just what he needs.

My Review

Okay.  We all know that Christina Lauren give good book.  I’ve read The Beautiful Bastard series and the first book in this series, Sweet Filthy Boy.  All the men in those books are hot, ridiculously sexy men, but in this book we meet the sexist, hottest one of all, Finn Roberts.  HOLY CRAP.   (Sorry Will…I still love you though.)  I’m not even sure where to start with this book, but I’m going to try.

We first met Finn in the Sweet Filthy Boy, but we didn’t get to know much about him.  Well in this book we learn A LOT about Finn.  At the beginning of this book we again meet Harlow Vega.  If you remember from the first book, Finn and Harlow were paired up when the group got all drunk and married.  Unlike Mia and Ansel, they got annulments and parted ways (except for that time Harlow flew up to Vancouver to surprise Finn wearing nothing but a trench coat…interesting).  But now Harlow is in line at Starbucks and Finn in is line directly behind her.  And why is he in town?  We find out why, but not before we learn that both Finn and Harlow are dealing with family issues that take an emotional toll on both of them.  And how do they cope?  Well let’s just say that it isn’t long before they are falling into bed…again.  And despite the fact that they are telling themselves (and others) that what is going on between them is not a big deal, they slowly come to realize that it is.

I really liked Harlow.  She was a sassy (I love when the female characters are sassy), independent, strong willed woman who could not only take what Finn gave her, but also dish it out.
“How about selling sperm?”
Coughing, I splutter, “Pardon me?”
“Sperm. Jizz. Semen. Protein shakes. Love juice. Pecker spit. Face crea—”
“Harlow.”
“What? You said everything.”
“Why . . .” I start, and shake my head. “Wait, were you starting to say face cream?”

I definitely laughed out loud at that.

This book definitely brought the sexy times.  I often found myself on the subway reading this book and I’m pretty sure that people around me were probably thinking “Why is that girl blushing so much?”  Well here’s an example why:
“Harlow’s little gasps are still too loud, and so I reach near her hip for her panties, ball them up in my fist, and, after I kiss her on the lips, I stuff them into her mouth. Her eyes close like she’s grateful, and she moans around it—and it’s enough that I nearly come.
“I said quiet, Ginger Snap.” I spread her legs even more. I tilt her hips in a way that my pelvis doesn’t rub against her clit while I fuck her.
And again, she moans, a deep, desperate sound that makes me fuck into her harder, wanting to make her do it again.”

I MEAN COME ON!!   I needed multiple cold showers while reading this book.
