REVIEW BLITZ & 4 1/2 STAR REVIEW: Drunk On You (Hope Town #4) by Harper Sloan

It was supposed to be fun.
A mutual use of each other's bodies.
To be a ruse to the world around us.
I wanted to be free from my ex, and he wanted to escape his.

One drunken night turned a joke into a life-changing moment.
He warned me not to fall for him, and I should've listened.

He intoxicated me.
He made me crave him.
He ruined me.
In the end, I'll never be the same.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Shane is part owner of Dirty Dog with Nate and Nikki is Ember's best friend. They've know each other for a while, but they were always in a relationship with other people. Well now they are single and they both have ex problems. After one ridiculously steamy kiss, Nikki gets an idea. If they pretend to be in a relationship, both their exes will leave them alone. Neither of them want a real relationship, so a fake relationship is born. And yeah I thought I knew exactly where this was headed and I didn't care one bit. And while I wasn't wrong about how it ended, the path to that end sure did surprise me a few times.

Before starting this book I really didn't remember Shane or Nikki. But let me tell you...they are a couple I will not be forgetting any time soon!  WOW. Shane. <insert shocked face emoji> Holy crap. That dude is an ovary explosion inducing Alpha male with a side of "Mr. Kingston will see you now" sexiness. And Nikki is more than willing to take part in whatever sexy games he wants to play.

While Shane and Nikki's relationship is crazy hot, they both have a side to them that allowed for some really sweet moments. Moments that showed that their relationship was far from fake. But it was also far from perfect. Shane had some serious baggage from his not only his upbringing, but also his most recent relationship. He is the way he is for a reason. And those reasons make him a bit blind and lot stupid when I comes to Nikki.

I just loved this book and if you are a fun of the Hope Town series, this is a must read. She ups the heat level in this one and it was just so good. And that cover! I'm not one of those readers who feels the need to picture the cover model while reading a book. And I don't if the cover model pick was an intentional one (I'd like to think it was) but OH MY GOD. I don't think Harper could have picked a better one. FOR REASONS. Just read the book.
