RELEASE BLITZ, 4 1/2 STAR REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Blended (Redemption #1) by Sasha Brümmer

Title: Blended
A Redemption Novel
Author: Sasha Brümmer
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 19, 2016

Clichéd sentiments of love are not my thing. Instead, I give into raw temptation and thrive on the physical aspects of what men have to offer. Unemotional, carnal connections are what I live for, and they seem to keep me in a blissfully naïve state.

I’ve gone years with a different man in a different bed each night, but one glance from a ruminating stranger as he lifts my panties to his nose narrows my attraction from multiple men to only one.

I’m not entirely sure how to process the thoughts and passions battling in my mind until he gives me no other choice…until I’m thrust into an unstable emotional high that I cannot seem to resist.

His objective is to break me in and savor me as if I’m his favorite bottle of single malt whiskey.

I’m well aware of my sensual dependencies. He’s unaware that his still exist.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wade and Hadley meet in an elevator at a Vegas casino. She has just left her boss' apartment after sleeping with him and when she gets into an elevator and drops her panties, Wade picks them up. The two of them have this moment that I can only describe as crazy electric and then they part ways. They come face to face again later that day in the casino where Hadley works and their interaction is once again quite sexual.

Fast forward a week or so and Hadley is now in Chicago. She has lost her job and is living with her best friend Lola. She has started hooking up a guy that lives in the building and getting back to her old ways. One night she goes to the new whiskey library in her neighborhood and she sees a familiar face. And the rest, as they say, is history.
“You should apply to be a member then. I’ll have the fees waived for the application as well as the annual membership.”
“There’s no need for that,” I say as I get up onto one of the barstools and pocket my card that the librarian left on the bar top.
“Maybe not, but I want you to be part of something that I own,” he says as he moves between the chair adjacent to mine and me, and stands there, looking down at me. My blood heats at his proximity.
“What do you want out of it, Mr. Brass?”
“I’d like to take you on a date.”
“A date? You mean that you just want another pair of my panties because you’ve already worn out the first.”
“No,” he says firmly, “I’d like to take you out and possibly enjoy a drink or two in neutral territory.”
I pause and watch him for a while before I give him my answer. This is possibly the worst idea I have ever had, but something about the way he’s looking at me makes me want to oblige. “All right, when and where?”
He pulls out his phone and glances at it for a few seconds before looking up into my eyes. “Tomorrow evening at eight. Leave the where up to me.”
“I think—”
“No, don’t think,” he interrupts. “Give me your number and I’ll text you the details.” He slides his phone into my hand and after a moment of consideration, I give in and dial my number into his phone. I call myself and wait to hear my phone go off before I hang up and save my contact details under Whiskey and Rye instead of my first name.
He takes his phone back and pockets it without looking at the screen. He moves his hand to my knee, and my eyes shift from his face to where his hand is scorching my skin as if a frozen static has stung me. His long fingers trace the seam of my leggings, and I’m entranced with watching his hands move before I’m able to look away.
“Are we going to fuck now?” My voice is too soft and needy; it’s not my own, and I’m sure that he notices because I swear I just felt his entire body stiffen even though he’s inches away from me.
“Not yet. I have rules, remember?”
“Oh? You don’t sleep with someone on the first date?”
“No. I don’t date women in Chicago at all.”
Confusion becomes me, and I raise my brow at him. “Then why are you taking me out?”
“I’m asking myself that exact same thing right now, and if we don’t get out of here, then I’m going to regret taking advantage of you.”
“I like being taken advantage of.”
Hadley and Wade are certainly an intense couple. Actually pretty much everything about their relationship is intense. Neither of them usually do relationships so the fact that they are in one is quite the feat. Their relationship gets off to a rocky start and the two of them find themselves breaking all of their rules (that is the subject of conversation quite often). They the rules exist for a reason, but they just break them over and over again. They can't help it.

The road to happily ever after is a tough one. Both Hadley and Wade had their own issues going into their relationship and unfortunately at times, those issues got in the way. But despite everything, I loved them, especially Wade. That guy is just...WOW. He constantly goes out of his way to show Hadley just how much he loves her and wants to make things work. Again, breaking all of his rules!

I was fan of Sasha's work with her co-writer Jess Epps and I am definitely a fan of her as a solo author. While still reading this one, I found myself trying to figure out who would be paired up in the next two books. I loved the secondary characters and got attached to them very quickly. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
