ReasonableDoubt1

My cock has an appetite.

A huge and very particular appetite: Blonde, curvy, and preferably not a fucking liar…(Although, that’s a story for another day.)

As a high profile lawyer, I don’t have time to waste on relationships, so I fulfill my needs by anonymously chatting and sleeping with women I meet online.

My rules are simple: One dinner. One night. No repeats.

This is only casual sex. Nothing more. Nothing less.

At least it was , until “Alyssa”… She was supposed to be a 27 year old lawyer, a book hoarder, and completely unattractive.

She was supposed to be someone I shared law advice with late at night, someone I could trust with details of my weekly escapades.

But then she came into my firm for an interview–a college-intern interview, and everything fucking changed…

Reasonable Doubt Volume #1
Prologue

Andrew

New York City is nothing more than a shit-filled wasteland, a dump where failures are forced to drop all their broken dreams and leave them far behind. The flashing lights that shined brightly years ago have lost their luster, and that fresh feeling that once permeated the air—that hopefulness, is long gone.

Every person I once considered a friend is now an enemy, and the word “trust” has been ripped from my vocabulary. My name and reputation are tarnished thanks to the press, and after reading the headline that The New York Times ran this morning, I’ve decided that tonight will be the last night I ever spend here.

I can’t deal with the cold sweats and nightmares that jerk me out of my sleep anymore, and as hard as I try to pretend like my heart hasn’t been obliterated, I doubt that the agonizing ache in my chest will ever go away.

To properly say goodbye, I’ve ordered the best entrées from all my favorite restaurants, watched Death of a Salesman on Broadway, and smoked a Cuban cigar on the Brooklyn Bridge. I’ve also booked the penthouse suite at the Waldorf Astoria, where I’m now leaning back on the bed and threading my fingers through a woman’s hair—groaning as she slides her mouth over my cock.

Teasingly darting her tongue around my tip, she whispers, “Do you like this?” as she looks up at me.

I don’t answer. I push her head down and exhale as she presses her lips against my balls, as she covers my cock with her hands and moves them up and down.

Over the past two hours, I’ve fucked her against the wall, forced her to bend over a chair, and pinned her legs to the mattress while I devoured her pussy.

It’s been quite fulfilling—fun, but I know this feeling will only last for so long; it never stays. In less than a week, I’ll have to find someone else.

As she takes me deeper and deeper into her mouth, I tightly tug her hair—tensing as she bobs her head up and down. Pleasure begins to course its way through me, and the muscles in my legs stiffen—forcing me to let go and warn her to pull away.

She ignores me.

She grips my knees and sucks faster, letting my cock touch the back of her throat. I give her one last chance to move away, but since her lips remain wrapped around me, she leaves me no choice but to cum in her mouth.

And then she swallows.

Every. Last. Drop.

Impressive…

Finally pulling away, she licks her lips and leans back against the floor.

“That was my first time swallowing,” she says. “I did that just for you.”

“You shouldn’t have.” I stand and zip my pants. “You should’ve saved it for someone else.”

“Right. Well, um…Do you want to order some dinner? Maybe we could eat it over HBO and go at it again afterwards?”

I raise my eyebrow, confused.

This is always the most annoying part, the part when the woman who previously agreed to “One dinner. One night. No repeats.” wants to establish some type of imaginary connection. For whatever reason, she feels like there needs to be some type of closure conversation, some bland reassurance that’ll confirm that what just happened was ‘more than sex,’ and we’ll become friends.

But it was just sex, and I’m not in need of any friends. Not now, not ever.

“No, thank you.” I walk over to the mirror on the other side of the room. “I have someplace to be.”

“At three in the morning? I mean, if you just want to skip the HBO and go for another round instead, I can…”

I tune out her irritating voice and begin to button my shirt. I’ve never spent the night with a woman I met online, and she isn’t going to be the first.

As I adjust my tie, I look down and spot a tattered pink wallet on the dresser. Picking it up, I flip it open and run my fingers across the name that’s printed onto her license: Sarah Tate.

Even though I’ve only known this woman for a week, she’s always answered to “Samantha.” She’s also told me—repeatedly, that she works as a nurse at Grace Hospital. Judging by the Wal-Mart employee card that’s hiding behind her license, I’m assuming that part isn’t true either.

I look over my shoulder, where she’s now sprawled across the bed’s silk sheets. Her creamy colored skin is unmarred and smooth; her bow shaped lips are slightly swollen and puffy.

Her green eyes meet mine and she slowly sits up, spreading her legs further apart, whispering, “You know you want to stay. Stay…”

My cock starts to harden—it’s definitely up for another round, but seeing her real name has ruined any chance of that for me. I can’t stand to be around anyone who’s lied to me, even if she does have double D tits and a mouth from heaven.

I toss the wallet into her lap. “You told me your name was Samantha.”

“Okay. And?”

“Your name is Sarah.”

“So what?” She shrugs, beckoning me with her hand. “I never give my real name to men I meet on the internet.”

“You just fuck them in five star hotel suites?”

“Why do you suddenly care about my real name?”

“I don’t.” I glance at my watch. “Are you spending the night in this room or do I need to give you cab money to get home?”

“What?”

“Was my question unclear?”

“Wow…Just, wow…” She shakes her head. “How much longer do you think you’ll be able to keep doing this?”

“Keep doing what?”

“Chatting someone up for a week, fucking her, and moving on to the next. How much longer?”

“Until my dick stops working.” I put on my jacket. “Do you need cab fare or are you staying? Check out is at noon.”

“Do you know that men like you—relationship avoiders, are the type that typically fall the hardest?”

“Did they teach you that at Wal-Mart?”

“Just because someone from your past hurt you doesn’t mean that every woman after her will.” She purses her lips. “That’s probably why you are the way you are. Maybe if you tried to actually date someone you’d be a lot happier. You should take her out for dinner and actually listen, see her to her door without expecting an invitation inside, and maybe bypass the whole ‘let’s go fuck’ in the hotel suite thing at the end.”

Where are my keys? I need to go. Now.

“I can see it now…” She can’t seem to shut up. “You’re going to want more than sex one day, and the person you want it from is going to be someone you least expect. Someone who will force you to give in.”

I pull my keys from underneath her crumpled dress and sigh. “Do you need cab money?”

“I have my own car, dick-face.” She rolls her eyes. “Are you really this incapable of having a regular conversation? Would it kill you to talk to me for a few minutes after sex?”

“We have nothing more to discuss.” I put my room key on the nightstand and walk toward the door. “It was very nice meeting you, Samantha, Sarah. Whatever the hell your name is. Have a great night.”

“Screw you!”

“Three times was more than enough. No, thank you.”

“Things are going to catch up to you one day, asshole!” She yells as I step into the hallway. “Karma is one hell of a bitch!”

“I know.” I toss back. “I fucked her two weeks ago…”

An Evening Between the Sheets Signing - 7/31/15

I was super excited about this event the minute it was announced. These are the authors that I LOVE. The ones whose books I pimp out to everyone I know. So the fact that I was going to meet them made me absolutely giddy!! It was a wonderful event and I am so glad that I went.

So in no particular order, these are the authors I met:

Rebecca Yarros

So I've been threatening Rebecca that I was going to hug the crap out of her when we finally met and I did! Her books are awesome and she is just an amazing human being. I had the chance to hang around and chat with her toward the end of the night and it was lovely. She's just the best!

Mandi Beck

If you haven't read Love Hurts yet you are missing out! Mandi wrote an awesome friends to lovers book that will leave you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book to come out! I need me some more Deacon!

Claire Contreras

I absolutely LOVED Kaleidoscope Hearts so it was great to see her in person. I told her a friend of mine randomly picked up her book after I gave it 5 stars and ended up loving it just as much as I did. If you haven't read it, click the link below and 1-click that book!

Whitney G

Whitney was a absolute sweetheart and as you can see below, she really takes the time to sign her books. It was a pleasure to meet her in person. Sincerely, Carter is a fantastic friends to lovers story and the Reasonable Doubt series is SUPER sexy. That Andrew Hamilton will melt your panties off!

Corinne Michaels

Corinne loves to torture us with her cliffhangers and I love her for that. Her books are these intense, emotional reads that will leave you exhausted at the end, BUT you will be so happy that you read them. Not to mention Corinne writes amazing Alpha males that us ladies are constantly fighting over....instant book boyfriend material.

Elisabeth Grace

I had actually met Elisabeth very briefly the previous week at RWA, so it was an absolute treat to see her again. She's the sweetest and I absolutely adore her!! If you haven't read her Indiscretion series, you should. It is one of my favorites and Max is up at the top of my book boyfriend list.

Linda Russell

Linda, who works for  Sassy Savvy Fabulous PR & Marketing, was sitting with Rebecca Yarros. We interact online all the time, so it was wonderful to finally to meet her. Especially since I didn't realize that she would be there!! Surprise!!  :-)

Lauren Rosa

Lauren is a fellow blogger (http://www.cherryredsreads.com/) and the one person that I have seen at all 3 signings I've been to this year! It's always nice to see a friendly face at these things. Lauren is the nicest and if you don't follow her on all social media, then you are doing it wrong.  ;-)

I had such a wonderful time at this signing and it's hard to believe that in the short time I have been doing this, I have been able to meet most of my favorite authors! Thank god for living in a big city!

On to the next event!

Review: Sincerely, Carter by Whitney G

Just friends.
We’re just friends.
No, really. She’s just my best friend...

Arizona Turner has been my best friend since fourth grade, even when we “hated” each other. We’ve been there for one another through first kisses, first “times,” and we’ve been each other’s constant when good relationships turned bad. (We even went to colleges that were minutes away from each other…)

Throughout the years, and despite what anyone says, we’ve never crossed the line.

Never thought about it.
Never wanted to.

Until one night changed everything.
At least, it should’ve ...

Just friends.
We’re just friends.
I’m only saying this until I figure out if she’s still “just” my best friend…

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed Whitney's Reasonable Doubt series, so when I heard she was releasing a friends to lovers book, I knew I had to read it. This trope is my weakness and this book was sweet, funny, sexy, emotional....I LOVED it!

Arizona, Ari for short, and Carter have been best friends since the 4th or 5th grade. (It changes depending on who you ask.) They live their separate lives, but at the end of the day they always end up together, hanging out or going to their favorite diner. The two of them are so close that most people can't believe that they are JUST friends. The two of them go about relationships very differently. Carter is a bit of a manwhore and while Ari dates, she doesn't sleep with just anyone. She actually has a spreadsheet (I love Ari!) that contains characteristics she likes her boyfriends to have...if they can meet her criteria, she will sleep with them. Like I said, VERY different.

The two of them getting together starts off (kind of) innocently. One night at a house party (yes, alcohol was involved) that Carter and his roommate throw, Ari and Carter end up dancing and at a moment when the lights go out, the two of them kiss. And an innocent kiss it was not. They kiss in a way that made me think "Oooooh they are so gonna do it." It doesn't happen that night, but they do eventually have sex. And it's awesome. They fall into a pseudo relationship, but they are determined to not let the sex get in the way of their amazing friendship. But of course that is always easier said than done.

What I LOVED about this book are the little glimpses into Ari & Carter's friendship over the years. Especially, when they were much younger. My favorite moment comes when they are in the 5th grade and they are preparing for their first kiss. With other people. They sneak into the janitor's closet to talk about and it is ADORABLE. We also get to see their friendship mature over the years and how they really have been their for each other through everything.

Of course Carter ends up being a big bonehead and things between them go south. I won't say any more than that, but I will share a conversation he has with his cousin.
One,” he said, counting off on his fingers. “In sixth grade, she threw a birthday party and you were the only one who came.”
“So?”
“So, for your birthday party, you only invited her to get back at all the people who dissed her the year before. You even gave her the invitation in front of everyone at school, including your ‘first-kiss’ girlfriend.”
“I was just being a good friend.”
“Two, you can’t last in any relationship because you subconsciously compare every woman you date to Ari, even when you know you’ll never be completely open with them if they do measure up.”
“I have an unfortunate tendency to pick bat-shit crazy women. I never compare them to Ari.”
“Three, if she calls you, you answer immediately and then you go running to wherever she is if she asks you to.”
“Any best friend would do that.”
“In the middle of a date? Or right after sex with his girlfriend?” He crossed his arms. “I don’t think so.”
I said nothing.
“That’s what I thought. Now that you’re somewhat accepting of the truth, do you want the most obvious fucking reason that you’re in love with Arizona and always have been?”
“Not really.
”He grabbed my arm and pointed to the small state of Arizona-shaped tattoo. “Any reason why you’ve never covered that or etched over it like any of your other ones? There’s no sign or remnant of those old ‘Carter and Jane’or ‘Rose forever’tattoos anymore... ”
“It’s become a drunken memory. It makes for a good story.”
“For who, Carter? No future wife or girlfriend is going to think that’s a good story and you fucking know it.
”I shrugged. “None of my previous girlfriends have ever complained to me about it before.”
“That’s because none of your previous girlfriends were ever smart enough to know all the states that make up America. They’d probably be shocked to know that there was one called Arizona in the first place.”
I tried to think of a rebuttal, but I couldn’t find one.
“You know what? Let’s get out of here...” He actually sounded sympathetic. “You’ve got it bad, and I’m going to need a better wingman while I’m on this trip. Pussy whipped and love sick Carter is not going to help me at all...
Carter's friend and roommate Josh was my favorite secondary character. Ari and Josh has a love/hate relationship that had me laughing out loud multiple times. He was fascinated by Carter and Ari's friendship and at one point convinces Carter to go out with him so he can find a girl to just be his friend. It doesn't go well. Maybe Josh will get his own book?  Pretty please?  **fingers crossed**

RELEASE DAY BLITZ: Mid Life Love Box Set by Whitney G.

Title: Mid Life Love Boxed Set
Author: Whitney G.
 Publication Date: January 29, 2015
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Buy it today: Amazon

Synopsis

**BOOK 1: Mid Life Love

If you'd asked me what love was two years ago, I probably would've said, 'It's this amazing feeling that obsesses and possesses you; it's what me and my husband currently have.' If you ask me that same question today, I'll say, 'Please get the hell out of my face.’

Claire Gracen's life is picture perfect. Her career as a marketing director is on the brink of being legendary, and her marriage to her high school sweetheart has never been stronger. No, wait. It has. It used to be amazing and fulfilling, but one day Claire realizes that she's been living a lie and her best friend and husband have committed the ultimate betrayal.

Broken and depressed, Claire is in need of something new—new city, new job, new friends.

When she happens to attract the interest of the sexiest man she's ever met, a man significantly younger than her, she immediately turns him down—only to later discover that this man is Jonathan Statham, self-made billionaire and CEO of Statham Industries. Her boss.

Jonathan Statham is unlike any man she's met before. He's used to getting whatever he wants—whenever he wants, and he isn't about to take no for an answer.

Sexy, unpredictable, and charmingly clever, Mid Life Love is a story that will captivate you, entertain you, and force you to fall deeply in love with the characters.

**BOOK 2: Mid Life Love: At Last

If you ask me if Jonathan Statham makes me happy, I’ll say ‘Absolutely. He’s the man of my dreams and I can’t wait to marry him.’ If you ask me why my ex-husband Ryan is currently one inch away from me—staring into my eyes and pressing his hand against my cheek, I’ll say, ‘I have no fucking idea…’

Claire Gracen finally has the life she’s always wanted: A career she loves, a man who’s willing to do any and everything for her, and friends that show her the true meaning of the word ‘friendship.’

As she and Jonathan prepare to make the ultimate commitment to one another and plan the wedding of her dreams, she quickly realizes that the hurtful past she left behind in Pittsburgh is a lot closer than she thought.

Sexy, unpredictable, and as charmingly clever as Mid Life Love, ‘At Last’ will captivate you from the first page and never let you go.
