5 Star Review: Dating Games by TK Leigh

Note to self: When your boyfriend dumps you on your thirtieth birthday, it’s probably not the smartest idea to drink so much that you wake up in the same bed as the mysterious hottie wearing the gorgeous suit who you noticed sitting across the bar.

The only silver lining in my obvious lack of judgment is the promise of never seeing Mr. Suit again, not in a city the size of New York.

Or so I thought, until a story I’m working on about the country’s most sought-after and elusive escort lands me in the same café as Mr. Suit. So I do what any self-respecting woman of my age would do in my shoes… Try to ignore him.

But he won’t let me.

Instead, he makes a proposition that leaves me questioning whether I need to have my ears checked. Be his fake girlfriend for a summer of wealth and excess in the Hamptons. In return, he’ll help me win back my boyfriend’s heart.

Juvenile? You bet.
Effective? Could be.
Bad idea? Most likely.

But what do I have to lose?
Apparently, a lot more than I originally bargained for.

Let the games begin...

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Evie cannot believe that she is getting dumped on her birthday. Especially by a guy she thought she would marry. Next thing she knows, she is sneaking out of her one night stand's apartment and then pretending to be his girlfriend. Of course there is a lot that happens in between those two things and it is all very entertaining.

Which is just one word I could use to describe this book: entertaining. I loved Evie and Julian. He's a complicated guy, but also sweet as hell, and a true gentleman. He also has these moments of extreme sexiness that had me swooning all over the place. Evie was very funny and the only thing I didn't like about her was that she was determined to get her d-bag ex boyfriend back. Well, at least in the beginning she wanted to get him back. Once she gets involved with Julian she starts to question what she really wants and he helps her open her eyes to the fabulous woman she is.

This relationship between Evie and Julian is a slow burn. If it is written well, the "will they?/won't they?" aspect of the story will keep you on the edge of your seat. You'll actually feel the anticipation between them. That is exactly what TK was able to do. I could not wait for Evie and Julian give in to their attraction to each other and the result was fantastic. I enjoyed every minute of it.

There was a secondary story line that involved Evie's job that I was so intrigued by and to be honest, that could be a book all on it's own.

TK knocked it out of the park with this one. Go 1-click now!
