Synopsis

Everly wasn’t excited over her impending meeting with the enigmatic Prince Sage. Being one of only four women from whom the Prince gets to choose in marriage was never something she valued. Her goal was to politely and elegantly remove herself from a forced wedding due to long standing traditions. Handsome Prince or not, she won’t marry for anything but love.

Once Sage proceeds to the next candidate, Everly finally feels she can move forward with her life. On her own terms. That is, until she receives a mysterious request, asking her to solve a riddle, taking her on a night she’ll never forget.

A fervent adventure ensues, and attraction builds as the excitement of the night unfolds. Sparks fly in more ways than one just as she finds out who’s stealing her heart.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

It’s time for Sage to get married and prepare take his place as the King of Canterbury. While he thinks that he should be able to marry anyone he like, his father thinks otherwise. He has a list of approved women who can become his bride. Luckily for sage and Everly is one of those women. She is everything that the others on the list are not and
all it takes is one meeting for Sage to make that realization. Meanwhile, Everly only takes the first meeting to please her mother. She has some preconceived notions as to who Sage is and what will happen if she marries him.

After he meets Everly, Sage cannot stop thinking about her. Turns out he already "knows" her (you'll get that once your read the book) and wants nothing more than to see her again. Everly tries to avoid another meeting, but Sage enlists the help of his friends to show her that she is wrong about who Sage really is. His plan does work, but then they have to deal with Sage's cranky father, who now doesn't see Everly as a viable candidate. Them trying to prove him wrong was the best part of the book for me.

Everly and Sage were extremely likable characters and I couldn't help but cheer for them. They were just two people who wanted to do more than the required photo ops and and appearing as though they were helping people. They actually wanted to make a difference in the kingdom and make things better for those less fortunate. This story was something straight out of a Hallmark movie and I really enjoyed it! It was an easy read that I was able to finish in one sitting.
