In Kelly's two previous books, we followed Rachel and Ainsley on their path to having their birthday wishes realized. And now it’s Gwen’s turn. Her wish is to finally discover the identity of her father and with the recent passing of her mother, it’s now or never. She has 36 hours to solve the mystery and she is determined to do it.
The other part to this story is Gwen reconnecting with the first and only guy she has ever loved. Gwen has loved August for almost as long as she has known him. But nine years ago she betrayed him in one of the worst ways possible and is convinced that there is no way back from that. So when he appears out of nowhere and agrees to help Gwen find her father, it all seems too good to be true. And maybe it is.
Over the course of 36 hours, Gwen and August are able to solve the mystery of Gwen’s father, but they also uncover much more than either of them ever expected. And not just about Gwen’s lineage. They never talk about what happened nine years ago and now is as good a time as any. Especially since they don’t know what will happen after the weekend is over.
I loved this story. It's sweet, a bit angsty, with a some sexy throw in. (I did love the sexy times!) The author has given us a second chance romance with a little mystery thrown in and kudos to Kelly for keeping my attention on both fronts. I found myself making my own guesses as to how everything would work out, but everything was not as it seemed and the twists and turns kept my attention the whole time. Another fantastic book by Kelly Siskind!
