Reality bites. Hard.
The last time Raven did “real” was sixteen months ago, when she spent one unforgettable night with the tattooed, impossible sexy Nico, and then he disappeared the next day. Since then, she’s kept her guard up and her feelings to herself. She doesn’t have time for relationship drama when she’s busy searching for her long lost sister.
Nico hasn’t stopped thinking about Raven—her sultry curves, inked skin, or the fact that he ditched her after their night together. Now that they’re living in the same city, he knows this is his chance to make things right. What better way to prove to Raven he’s for real than helping her find her sister? But when the lines between right and wrong start to blur, putting his job on the line, Nico has to decide if the risk is worth the ultimate reward.

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.
I feel like I have been waiting for Nico and Raven's story for forever! I've been dying to get their version of what actually went down in Aspen. And now that the two of them are living in the came city and will most likely be around each other often, they will have to at least be civil to one another. And talk about what happened in Aspen.
There first few face to face meetings were a bit rough, but they are able to come to an understanding. And while they are able to reconcile and start over, there are things getting in the way. Raven wants to find and reconcile with her long lost sister, Rose. She is holding on to a lot of guilt as to why Rose ran away and want to make things right. And Nico is trying to keep his brother Josh out of jail. Josh is facing some serious drug charges and the case against him is strong. And Raven's allegiance to her sister and the lengths she is willing to go to keep her around as well as Nico struggling with walking that thin line between good cop and bad cop put their relationship to the test.
Putting aside all the stressful stuff, there are some amazing moments between Nico and Raven. Nico is one to fall hard and Raven is no exception. They have all these super sweet moments and they go on some adventures (Nico in a Hawaiian shirt, anyone?) together. And now that the whole gang is all living in one place, we get lots of awesome scenes involving everyone. Shay & Kolton are happily cohabiting and Lily is still wearing Sawyer's ring around her neck. (BTW there is an ADORABLE scene involving Lily and Sawyer that made me cry all the happy tears!) The four of them are extremely happy and now it's time for Raven and Nico to find their own brand of happiness, with all of their help of course. And there is a epilogue (well, the last chapter) of sorts that basically sums up the group friendship. It's hilarious and ties everything together so well.
I press my face into his neck and cringe; our friends will never let us live this down. I should care. I really should. But they can suck it.
My abdomen clenches, and Nico shudders. He nips my shoulder. “To be continued. Shower now.”
He does caveman well.
Twenty minutes later we stride out, long underwear on, humming to ourselves. We planned this group vacation a while back—our three-year Aspenniversary—as a way to have fun and celebrate how we all met. The chalet we’ve rented has soaring ceilings, Navajo rugs, and a spectacular view of the mountains. Shay and Kolton are cuddled on one end of the living room couch, his face lowered to Shay’s still-flat belly, talking to his unborn kid. Lily and Sawyer are at the dining room table, his mouth wide open as she flicks Lucky Charms at his face. He catches most of them and chews happily.
Thankfully our friends don’t say boo. Don’t even look our way. Maybe the walls are thicker than I thought. Nico pours us each a coffee while I search out bowls and milk.
“What time do you guys want to head out?” I ask.
“Not sure,” Sawyer says. “Maybe nine oh, oh, oh, ooooooh clock.” His high-pitched orgasm impersonation stops me cold.
“Really?” Kolton deepens his baritone. “I just ohfuck ohfuck don’t know. Might be too soon.”
Shay joins in with “Oh, baby. Yes, yes, yes. Nine is ohGodyes perfect.”
They get louder and more dramatic, tossing out random exclamations of rapture. Lily face-plants on the table, laughing hysterically, and I can’t even be annoyed. Not with the way she and Shay are cackling while Sawyer and Kolton kiss and fondle the air like pornographic mimes.
Nico’s cheekbones glow, matching the color of the hickey on his neck. We trade looks. We shrug. Then we high-five each other.
“Be jealous,” is all my man says.
The last 20% of this book is what really sealed the 5 star rating for me. There are a few moments in that last part of the book that made me burst into tears because they were just so beautiful. As I told Kelly when I finished reading, "I just love your brain." I'm sad to see the series end, but can't wait to see what she will give us next.
A small-town girl at heart, Kelly Siskind moved from the city to open a cheese shop with her husband in Northern Ontario, Canada. When she’s not neck deep in cheese or out hiking, you can find her, notepad in hand, scribbling down one of the many plot bunnies bouncing around in her head.
She laughs at her own jokes and has been known to eat her feelings—Gummy Bears heal all. She’s also an incurable romantic, devouring romance novels into the wee hours of the morning.
