REVIEW TOUR, 5 STAR REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Stroked by Meghan Quinn

We're celebrating the release of STROKED by Meghan Quinn!

STROKED by Meghan Quinn
Scheduled to release: July 20, 2016
NA Romantic Comedy

Reese King: Olympic medalist, underwear model, Greek god.

His body is chiseled from rock, sculpted by the weight room, and refined by water.

On a daily basis his skin is completely bare for everyone to see, tan and defined, only covered up by a minuscule piece of spandex. There is no denying his sex appeal.

I hate to admit it, but I’m head over heels infatuated with him.

There is one HUGE problem though. His achingly gorgeous abs, inked up arm, and cocky swagger belong to my boss, the high-profile, reality star bitch from hell and certified heinous human being, Bellini Chambers.

What I think is going to be an easy job assisting a glorified wench turns into a cluster f*ck of epic proportions.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Let's just say that when the Olympics rolls around next month I will be watching the swimmers/divers very closely. And casting this series. Haha.

Paisley needs a job, but thanks to a minor slip up that resulted in colorful language being broadcasted on live television, the only production job she can get is being an assistant to one of the absolute worst human beings on the planet, reality star Bellini Chambers. But she really needs the job, so she takes it. While the job is awful and it's the last place she wants to be, Paisley takes it like a champ and is quite good at it. The only problem is that Bellini's boyfriend is ridiculously hot and Paisley is extremely attracted to him.

Reese King is a swimmer who has won pretty much everything EXCEPT a gold medal. When he first meets Paisley he is immediately drawn to her. She's not only gorgeous, but she knows how to handle the infantile Bellini. Since Paisley is technically his assistant and well, he starts to put Paisley in situations where the just two of them spend time together. Yes, he wants to get physical with her, but he also wants to get to know her as a person. She is unlike anyone he has met before and he is intrigued by her. As they get to know each other they form a  friendship that quickly borders on the inappropriate.

I absolutely loved them. Early in the book Reese invites Paisley to his house for lunch and as they are prepping the food they talk about the various tattoos she has.
“These are all words that have touched your soul?” he asks, running his finger along the tattoo on my right forearm.
“Yes, in one way or another, these words have helped me through my life; they’ve inspired me to be a better person, to strive for more.”
He nods and steps back, giving me some space, space I don’t want. “I can relate. I have a saying I carry around with me everywhere I go and tape it to my locker before each swim meet.”
“Really?” I ask, curious to find out we are similar in a way. “What does it say?”
Without skipping a beat, he answers, “Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up.”
“Rocky Balboa,” I say, holding up my right arm and pulling up the sleeve of my cover-up, so he can see the small saying etched on my inner bicep.
His hands automatically go to my arm, and he reads his saying that is scrawled across my skin, his fingers carefully caressing the ink. “No fucking way.” He laughs. “Damn, I think my heart just skipped a beat.”
His heart just skipped a beat? How about mine is about to pound right out of my chest from the light caress of his fingers along my arm.
There is a fire in his eyes, a passionate fire, full of heat, yearning . . . wanting. The feeling is mutual. An addictive pulsing runs through my body, settling in my core. Beat after beat, our silence surrounds us. His chest falls in rhythm with mine, our breathing syncing as one as his hazel eyes continue to bore down on mine, looking for answers as to what this burning sensation is flowing between us.
I clear my throat and take the first look away. His gaze is too strong; I’m bound to do something stupid. “So, these peppers need to be chopped, huh?”
Gah!  These two. The sexual tension is quite intense and when things do finally happen (don't worry...there's no cheating!) the payoff is totally worth it! Reese is the biggest sweetheart and basically the perfect book boyfriend. Paisley was an awesome, headstrong woman and was all in with Reese, but unfortunately her employment situation forces to make some choices that were out of her control and put their relationship in jeopardy.

And Bellini. Holy crap she is just the absolute worst. I found myself rolling my eyes at the absurdity of it all, but that is what made it so fun (and frustrating). The first time one of her chapters popped up I did get a little worried that we were going to get too much of her, but I thought Meghan gave us just enough. Besides I think we are going to be seeing her throughout the whole series and there is a thing as too much Bellini. I just can't wait to see her get what is coming to her.

I cannot wait for the next book. Meghan has given us some great secondary characters...some who will be getting their own books! Yay! I mean I already have heart eyes for Bodi and Ruby so I am super excited about their book. And the 3rd book....well let's just that I am excited about that couple too!

GIVEAWAY

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if "It's Raining Men" starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing... enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
