BLOG TOUR & 4 STAR REVIEW: Wicked Ride (Wicked Horse #4) by Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Ride (The Wicked Horse Series Book #4)
by Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: June 28, 2016

I think this woman may be the death of me. A dire prediction, but probably true.

Probably true because she’s not mine to have and I’ll probably take her, even at the risk to my own safety. So many men slobbering to get a taste of her and only one, sweet, virginal girl to go around.

That’s right.

She’s a virgin.

Looking like a porcelain china doll that would break if not handled carefully. But I also know she’s stronger than she looks.

She’s a contradiction.

She’s most likely my downfall.

Like I said, she’ll probably be the death of me, but it’s a risk

I’m willing to take.

**Warning: this book has sex in it. Lots of sex. Dirty sex. The Wicked Horse Series is a bit different than what Sawyer Bennett normally writes. While you’ll still enjoy fabulous characters, a suspenseful story, some witty banter and an epic romance, there’s just… a lot of sex. You’ve been warned.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This series continues to be so freaking good! After reading the last book and him playing the part that he did (holy threesome hotness Batman!) I was curious as to how his story would unfold.

When Logan sees Auralie for the first time he is immediately drawn to her. When he learns that Auralie's virginity will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, he knows there is no way he will be that bidder. Auralie notices Logan as well and feels the same connection He feels. They find that they can communicate by just looking at the other person. Unfortunately for Logan, he has to watch Auralie with other men (no sex of course) while he just stands by and does nothing.

But their luck changes when Auralie's handler has to go out of town. The two run into each other and end up spending some time together. Logan learns why she is auctioning off her virginity and he also discovers that she is also carrying around some heavy burdens. Burdens he wants to help carry. But of course Auralie is hesitant to take his or anyone else's help.
“Okay,” he says softly. “I won’t ask you why you’re doing this, but just know…if you want to try to figure another way out, I’m ready to help you do it.”
I know I just shut him down tight a second ago, but I can’t help it when my mouth opens, my vocal chords engage, and a single whispered and needful word comes out, “Why?”
Logan finally picks up his coffee, blows across the top, and takes a sip while looking at me over the rim. When he sets it back down, he says, “Because we’re tethered.”
Excuse me?” I ask, not in a tart, offended way, but in an I’m-completely-confused way.
“From the moment you and I first locked eyes on each other, there was an understanding of sorts between us. I don’t know the how or the why something like that happens between two people, and fuck…we spent three days communicating through looks and body language, but you can’t deny it, Auralie…you and I have something that ties us together, and I’m not sure what it is. But it was absolutely confirmed after the way we consumed each other last night.”
God, and I know it too. I felt it from the very first time we beheld each other. Call it metaphysical or just a product of my underused imagination, but there is a connection there that I’ve never experienced with another human being in my life.
“You with me?” Logan asks quietly.
I nod, getting ready to speak the words back to him, but the waitress arrives with our food. The intimate connection is broken as we both lean back a bit so she can set the plates down. After she leaves, Logan picks up his utensils. While he busies himself pulling his eggs over onto his hash browns and cutting them all up together—same as I like to do—he says casually, “I’ve got a fishing trip this afternoon, but I’ll pick you up at six tonight. I’m taking you out to dinner.”
I loved Logan and Auralie's relationship. Like I mentioned earlier (and in the above excerpt) they had deep connection that they were both baffled by. They were intrigued by the other person and their relationship wasn't just about sex (because it couldn't be). Logan was so darn sweet and genuinely wanted to know the real Auralie and help her. But he struggled with the fact that she wasn't willing to accept his help. But Auralie had her reasons for auctioning off her virginity and even though she fell for Logan HARD, she didn't want to get him involved.

This series continues to be so freaking good! After reading the last book and seeing Logan play the part that he did (holy threesome hotness Batman!) I was curious as to how his story would unfold and I wasn't disappointed.

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am for the next book....BRIDGER'S BOOK!! Yay! Ever since we met him in the first book I have been intrigued by him. And the little glimpse we get at the end of this book...OMG. So excited!
