4 Star Review: The Billionaire Bride (Brides of Holland Springs #1) by Marquita Valentine

It’s not easy being the woman most likely to be married to a fortune hunter, but Kate Von Lichtenstein has a plan to deter even the most determined gold digger. She’ll take a page right out of her favorite historical romance novel - with her own unique spin. She’ll marry a man of her choosing before the public gets wind of how much money she actually inherited from her grandparents. And who fits the bill better than the sexy and charming American businessman, Noah Sawyer?

After selling his share of the successful tech company, Noah Sawyer lost everything when an unscrupulous realtor stole the money he intended to use to purchase a huge swath of land worth millions. So, when a chance meeting at a mutual friend’s wedding with a hot brunette turns into a mutually beneficial business arrangement, Noah jumps at the chance to salvage his business.

However, the sexy land developer has no intention of his marriage to Kate being in name only…

My Review

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Finally a book where the billionaire is....wait for it...A WOMAN! Kate has inherited billions from her grandparents. She knows that she will eventually have to get married and it will probably someone she doesn't really care for...someone her parents will set her up with. But Kate wants to get married on her own terms.

Kate runs into an old acquaintance while she is at a wedding. It has been a few years since she has seen Noah (I'm guessing this happens in the Holland Springs book Just Desserts, which I haven't read yet), but his appearance comes a very good time. The wedding Kate is attending is that of her friend Sebastian...the man that she has been pining after for years. Noah sees that Kate is upset and the two of them leave to go to dinner.

On the way to dinner Kate comes up with a great idea and she asks Noah to marry her. She lays out her plan during dinner and Noah isn't so sure that this is a good idea. But after a run in with the paparazzi, he agrees.

I liked Noah and Kate as a couple. It is very obvious that the two are attracted to each other and what starts as a business transaction quickly turns into something more. The two of them share some sexy moments on their honeymoon and things seem to be going really well, but then Kate's family gets wind of the marriage. They try to undermine her plan and she even starts to agree with their objections. Luckily for her, Noah really wants their relationship to work and he will do whatever he has to to make that happen.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series. The only objection I have is that the stories are all going to be too short and I know I will finish each book wanting more. Thank god I have still have to read all of Marquita's back catalog.
