COVER REVEAL: Bet the Farm by Staci Hart

Staci Hart has a brand new rom-com standalone coming January 23rd! Bet the Farm is a heartfelt, flirty story of opposites attract and I cannot WAIT to read it! Mark your calendars and pre-order your copy today!

Olivia Brent has one summer to save the dairy farm she just inherited.

But there's one problem, and it's not her lactose intolerance.
Jake Milovic.

The brooding farmhand has inherited exactly fifty percent of Brent Farm, and he's so convinced the city girl can't work the land, he bets she can't save it in a summer.

Determined to prove him wrong, Olivia accepts what might be the dumbest wager of her life.

His strategy to win seems simple: follow her around, shirtlessly distracting her between bouts of relentless taunting. And it's effective-if his dark eyes and rare smiles aren't enough to sidetrack her, the sweaty, rolling topography of the manbeast's body would do the trick.

What they don't know: they'll have to weather more than each other.

Mysterious circumstances throw the farm into disarray, and with the dairy farm in danger, Olivia and Jake have to work together. But when they do, there's more to fear than either of them imagined.

Because now their hearts are on the line, and the farm won't be the only casualty if they fail.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

RELEASE BLITZ & 5 STAR REVIEW: Possession by T.K. Leigh (Redemption, #3)

Sometimes the right path isn’t the easiest one.

Weston Bradford entered my world in a whirlwind.

Or, more accurately, during a torrential downpour.

After our brief encounter, I didn’t think I’d ever see the attractive man with mesmerizing blue eyes again. Not in a city the size of Atlanta.

Until I agree to take on a historic home renovation and learn the owner is none other than the same Weston Bradford who I met in the rain.

We’re as opposite as two people can be, but there’s no denying the spark, the connection, the invisible tether pulling us toward one another.

But my past has left me broken and scarred, forcing me to erect walls around myself. That doesn’t seem to deter Wes, though. He’s more than happy to scale those walls to possess the one thing I swore I’d never give another person again — my heart.

When the past collides with my present in an unexpected way, will he stand by my side and weather the storm threatening to destroy everything? Or will he abandon me like everyone else in my life?

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

If you read the previous books in this series, you will remember Wes. (And if you didn't read the previous books, that is okay too! You will be able to enjoy this book with no problem. ) To be honest, I didn't necessarily need Wes' story, but I am so glad that T.K. decided to give it to us!

I absolutely LOVED this book. Wes and Londyn are an interesting couple. They are both broken hearted and carrying baggage from previous relationships, Londyn a bit more than Wes. They meet when Wes saves her from getting hit by a car and then again when their paths cross unexpectedly. It's a little too good to be be true, but Wes doesn't want to let her slip through his fingers.

Londyn is a tough nut to crack at first and for good reason. She is already wary of starting a new relationship and then add in the fact that it was would be an interracial relationship in the South, and she has even more reservations. But thankfully Wes is an understanding guy and he gives her the time she needs. And let's just say that if I could find my own Wes, I'd be a very happy lady.

T.K. knows how to write a good cliffhanger. I've been almost throwing my ereader at the wall since her Beautiful Mess series. Seriously...she's that good! So I'll just be here, patiently waiting for the next book to come out.

CW: racism, emotional abuse, talk of a death of a loved one, talk of a past sexual assailt, physical assault

RELEASE BLITZ & 4 STAR REVIEW: Pride and Papercuts by Staci Hart

The Austen series is coming to an end. The final book in the series is LIVE! I'm so excited to read Pride & Papercuts, a modern love story inspired by Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice! Have you grabbed your copy yet?

Hate is a strong word.

Depending on the company, loathe is a good substitute. Abhor might be a little fancy, but it gets the job done. But the word that really sums up how I feel about Liam Darcy is, without question, hate.

He doesn’t seem to think much of me either. The second he lays his fault-seeking eyes on me, he sets out to oppose me. Everything about him is imposing, as if he consumes the nearby air to power the rise and fall of his broad chest, and it’s clear he resents my presence on his advertising team. Every idea I have is shot down. Every olive branch I offer is set on fire by nothing more than the blistering coals he calls eyes.

In return, I light him up with my words.

It’s not as if he can dismiss me, since I work for his client, Wasted Words. Instead, he’s forced to tolerate me, which seems the closest we’ll ever be to friends. Fine by me.

I can be civil and still hate Liam Darcy.

But if there’s more to him than his exterior shows, I won’t be able to hate him at all. I might stumble over that line between love and hate and fall right into his arms.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Liam and Laney! Laney and Liam! They really had that "love to hate you" thing going on and it REALLY worked for them. Their initial meeting was kind of the worst and it took a while for the two of them to be in the same room without one of them storming out of the room. I mean they spend most of the book at each other's throats with the occasional moments of "Oh I definitely have feelings for him/her." It was all great and I couldn't wait to see how it would all play out.

I enjoyed this book! Staci really leaned into the horrible, older lady characters in this series, because we get another one in this book! And it turns out she is best friends with the woman in the last book so it all makes a lot of sense. So like...full circle!

There was also the secondary storyline with Laney's brother Jett. It was all very Romeo and Juliet and I loved it. I actually wish that we had more of their side of the story. Maybe a novella or something? Pleeeeeeeeeeeease?

Before I end this review, I have a confession to make: I've never read any of the classics. I know. I know. But I went from reading Baby Sitter's Club books straight to Danielle Steel. And when I was in high school I almost never read the books I was supposed to read, so here we are! So when the author says that a book is a retelling of an Austen novel...right over my head. Whew. I just had to let that out.

What to expect:
  • Modern Mafia/Romantic Suspense storyline
  • New York City setting
  • Heart pounding action scenes
  • A love story that will leave you breathless

Get ready for the thrill of a lifetime in this SEXY, HOT, and ADDICTIVE Romantic Suspense. This story has a SWOON-WORTHY HERO with bravery, heart, and an intensity that will give you ALL. THE. FEELS!

BLURB:

In the dark, winding hills overlooking the New York Harbor lay the city's most exclusive club. A mansion that offered a glimpse back to the days when the mob had ruled New York.

I took my seat at the bar and flirted with the man behind it-the one who made me weak in the knees yet kept his personal life a veiled secret.

It started off like any other, except, that night, Jesse Grant and I shared a moment.

And then all hell broke loose.

As gunfire rained down, I fell to the floor in fear, only to be shielded by a man who was risking his own life to save mine.

Jesse led me away from danger that night. While traipsing through the underground tunnels of the city, I learned my family wasn't who I'd thought they were and no one could be trusted … including Jesse.

He devoured my body and stole my heart. Then, he left in the shadows of the night, leaving me to wonder if he was really who he had said he was.

Discovering dark secrets, intense attraction, and a plot where everyone's life was on the line … my once-boring life morphed into that of a crime drama.

And there was only one man I was willing to give my trust to. I just prayed that he was worth the risk.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

On the surface, Amelia and Jesse are a couple that could never work. She is the daughter of a successful businessman and Jesse is a bartender at the club her family frequently dines at. He always seems to be working when she's there, but Amelia doesn't mind. He's handsome and pays attention to her. They make small talk and maybe even flirt a little. And it's all very innocent until it isn't.

After that night Amelia finds herself thrust into situations that she never thought she'd be in. And Jesse is there pretty much the whole way. He's not only her support system, but it turns out he is one of the few people she can actually trust.

I really enjoyed this book! Throughout the whole thing, there were these moments where I felt like I could easily be watching a movie. It was suspenseful, but it also had a wonderful romance story line. This genre is different from what the author usually writes and I hope she writes more! There's a secondary character in this book that I loved and I would LOVE to get her story!
