Melissa is a bit of a hot mess. She has shared custody of her kids and is part owner of a successful business, but her personal life is not great. Melissa is recently divorced and trying to get her life back on track. Her ex has moved on and it's time for her to move on as well. She meets William in one of the more interesting meet cutes I've read in a while. I knew from the start that I would enjoy this book and I was not disappointed. 

For me, this book was all about William. At the beginning of the book his personal life is a bit of a mess too, but from the moment he meets Melissa, it's obvious there is an an attraction and connection. William was sweet, considerate, sexy and a VERY patient man. Being in a relationship with Melissa wasn't easy, but he was willing to do what he needed to do to make it work.

Three cheers for a grumpy hero! Three more cheers for a grumpy hero with an adorable child who he loves more than anything! This has become one of my favorite tropes. Give me more please. 

Sophie is looking to leave her life behind, even if it's just for a little while. When her family and career falls apart, she needs a change. South Carolina wasn't the plan, but when she stops for lunch, things just fall into place. And before she knows it, she has a place to stay and a job. She has a rough go of it at first and having Grumpy Grant as a boss wasn't ideal, but Sophie eventually finds her way. 

Grant and Sophie were an excellent couple. I really enjoyed when they didn't get along. They had great banter and the back and forth just added to the tension between them. And when they finally give in to their attraction to each other, it's so good!

This book is sweet and quite heartwarming, with a little bit of sexy thrown in. And it was a quick read with little drama. There are a few excellent side characters who I really enjoyed as well.

On the surface, Amelia and Jesse are a couple that could never work. She is the daughter of a successful businessman and Jesse is a bartender at the club her family frequently dines at. He always seems to be working when she's there, but Amelia doesn't mind. He's handsome and pays attention to her. They make small talk and maybe even flirt a little. And it's all very innocent until it isn't.

After that night Amelia finds herself thrust into situations that she never thought she'd be in. And Jesse is there pretty much the whole way. He's not only her support system, but it turns out he is one of the few people she can actually trust.

I really enjoyed this book! Throughout the whole thing, there were these moments where I felt like I could easily be watching a movie. It was suspenseful, but it also had a wonderful romance story line. This genre is different from what the author usually writes and I hope she writes more! There's a secondary character in this book that I loved and I would LOVE to get her story!
