RELEASE BLITZ & 5 STAR REVIEW: Player by Staci Hart

I should have known it was only a game.
I should have known he was too good to be true.
He’s nothing but a player...

Player, an all-new sexy, standalone romantic comedy from Staci Hart, is LIVE!

He’s a player.

He plays the bass with expert fingers. He plays women with intoxicating charm. And he’ll play me with the ease of a virtuoso.

Who better to teach me to play than the master himself?

I’m his model student, front row, pencil sharp. Pick up lines? I’ve got them. Free drinks? By the dozen. Kissing? Let me grab my chapstick.

But the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that there’s so much I don’t know. Like why his touch sets off a chain reaction straight to my nethers. Or how I’m certain each kiss is the best I’ll ever have, until the moment his lips take mine again.

There’s so much I don’t know.

Like the fact that I’m only a bet.

But we are what we are. He’s a player, through and through.

And I’m the fool who fell in love with him.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Listen y'all. I have yet to read a Staci Hart book that I didn't like. And while I am sure that it will eventually happen, today is not that day. And I'm not sure I can express just how much I loved this book, but I am going to try.

Let's start with Val. I absolutely adored her! She plays in the orchestra of the Broadway production of Wicked and has a crush on one of her fellow musicians, Sam. She is constantly embarrassing herself in front of him and thinks that is the only reason he acknowledges her. But little does she know that Sam knows exactly who she is and may even have a little crush on her himself. When his "friend" Ian (I HATE that guy!) decides to put Val in the middle of a ridiculous bet, Sam's protective instincts kick in. The result of that is Val and Sam spending A LOT of time together and me melting in a big pile of goo because OH MY GOD I JUST LOVED THEM TOGETHER.

Yes, Val and Sam are thrown together thanks to a ridiculous, juvenile bet, but I quickly forgot that. And as far as I was concerned, once he got to know Val, Sam forgot as well. Val is one of those girls who is awkward at first, but then once she warms up to you, she is funny and sassy as hell. I found that super relatable and if I had to describe myself, that is what I would say!

I just loved Sam! Did I like why he started hanging out with Val? Of course not, but he had his reasons and I honestly didn't blame him. He's a genuinely nice guy and Val knows she is lucky just to call him a friend. One theme in this book that is brought up over and over again is Val's lack of self esteem. She's a gorgeous, curvy woman who developed at a young age and was shamed because of it. She's carried that shame with her basically her whole life and because of it she thinks there is no way that Sam could ever like a girl like her. And I loved how much Sam did to prove her wrong. And boy did he prove her wrong!

To go back to the whole "Val developing at an early age" thing. I was one of those girls. And while I didn't get shamed as bad Val, I definitely got picked on, so I related to her. I found myself crying at these moments that probably seemed insignificant to most people but I couldn't help but think "Yes! I know how that feels! I feel seen!"

Before I go I want to say one more thing. There's a scene in the book where Sam is giving Val a blowjob lesson and I swear to you, I broke down while reading it. And I was on Amtrak. There is just something about Staci's writing that tugs at my heart strings. Maybe it was the fact that Sam was so patient and the absolute sweetest to Val or maybe it was because that was the moment that Val realized that she was sexy as hell. All I know is that whole scene was ridiculously sexy and extremely romantic scenes in the whole dang book. And that's taking into consideration Sam's excellent grovelling scene and the amazing epilogue.

Thank you Staci for giving us Val and Sam. And for once again making me cry on public transportation. While reading a blowjob scene.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey.

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

RELEASE BLITZ: Love Sincerely Yours by Sara Ney & Meghan Quinn

Dear Mister...**strike out** no, too formal.

Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.

To whom it may concern,

Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free.

I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?

So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide.

I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this letter.

I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me. The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets.

For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees.

And as long as we're being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss.

Love,

Sincerely,

Yours.

EXCERPT

Like a goddamn ray of sunshine, light streaming behind her from the window, a halo shining above her pretty head.

Her lying, beautiful head.

Dark hair, wavy and glossy, down around her shoulders, the rich color picking up red from the sun.

She’s holding a glass—it’s poised at her lips and she’s about to take a sip—when our eyes meet. She lowers it, her mouth parts, and her smile spreads.

Until I scowl. Then, her face morphs from happy to concerned in a second. Damn right she should be concerned.

I nod.

She nods.

My eyes trail down the front of her and I note her dress—it’s baby blue, wrapped and tied at the waist, and shows off her curves while highlighting her legs in those sexy-as-shit heels.

Stop thinking about her curves and legs. You’re not here to admire her.

The pile of gifts in the corner pisses me off, bringing me back into the present, back to my rage, and has me lifting my arm; crooking my finger.

Peyton’s brows go up at the same time her head cocks and she pokes a finger into her own chest. “Me?”

“Yeah. You.” I know she can’t hear me, but I say it anyway—and if she’s any good at reading lips, she’ll haul her ass over here right quick.

Her cup is passed. Skirt gets smoothed out. Chin tilts high.

She heads over.

Good girl.

“Follow me,” I order her when we’re on the outskirts of the room. When we’re clear across the office common area, I pivot to face her.

She’s shorter, even in heels, so I have to dip my head to glare at her. “Want to tell me exactly what the fuck is going on in there?”

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

COVER REVEAL: The Wrong Game by Kandi Steiner

The Wrong Game by Kandi Steiner
Release Date: October 18, 2018
Genre: New Adult

From the bestselling author of A Love Letter to Whiskey and the What He Doesn't Know Duet comes an angsty, emotional, and fun sports romance.

Two season tickets. One genius idea.

Zero interest in a relationship.

The plan is simple: a brand new, hot, preferably funny, definitely single male will fill one of those seats for every Bears game at Soldier Field. And I’ll fill the other.

I can’t think of a better way to use the season passes I’d bought for my ex-husband. I am a woman of plans, and this one’s foolproof.

Until Zach Bowen offers to be my practice round.

He’s infuriating. Presumptuous and overbearing. And absolutely, undeniably gorgeous. Any woman with a heartbeat would be attracted to him, and mine picks up speed every time he speaks.

But as I said, I’m a woman of plans — and I’m not backing down on this one.

One night. One game. And then, his time’s up.

He can try to change the rules, but here’s the truth: he can’t win if he’s playing the wrong game.

Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.

An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. She started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.” She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a diehard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs.

When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys live music, traveling, anything heavy in carbs, beach days, movie marathons, craft beer and sweet wine — not necessarily in that order.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Jules is about to turn the big four-oh and is newly separated from her husband. But that is what happens when you catch him with another woman. So she's packed her and her daughter up up and moved back in with her parents.

But things are already looking up! She's just landed a new account and will be working alongside Lenny Ward. He is a very distracting gentleman that has the potential to flip her world upside down and that is exactly what he does. And he doesn't waste any time doing it.

Jules was such a likable character and you couldn't help but cheer her on. I also really liked her daughter, Sophia. She could have very easily been the bratty teenager who was mad at the world, so it was refreshing that she had a good head on her shoulders. And Sophia was also Team Lenny!

Lenny was such a good guy. He had a bad rep when it came to the ladies, but he really was a nice Southern gentleman and had the best intentions when it came to Jules. Of course Jules was hesitant to start anything up with him, but he didn't give up. And he wasn't annoying about it, which is important.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a lightheartedness that I found myself liking a lot and I just kept reading because I really wanted Jules to get her happily ever after. I admit that this was my first A.M. Willard book and I will definitely be looking at her backlist to see what books I can enjoy next.

RELEASE BLITZ & 5 STAR REVIEW: Not Until You by Corinne Michaels

Not Until You by Corinne Michaels

Publication Date: October 1st, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance

I have two rules in life:
1. No relationships, falling in love or attachments.
2. No sleeping with clients of my interior design firm.

Since the last guy turned out to be married, they’ve been easy to follow.

Until him.

Callum Huxley is a ridiculously sexy Brit, and the connection we have the moment our eyes lock scares the ever-loving hell out of me. Thank God I came to my senses before going back to his hotel where I would’ve ended up naked, panting, and unable to forget him.

Thinking I walked away from that night unscathed was stupid. Sure enough, at the biggest meeting of my career waits the CEO of Dovetail Enterprises—him. It might be the most embarrassing moment of my professional life. And breaking my no-client rule might just be the hottest moment of my personal life.

Learning to trust has never felt so good, but falling has never hurt so bad.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Nicole has a very strict policy of not mixing business with pleasure. And for very good reason. So when she finds herself working for Callum Huxley, she has her work cut out for herself. That man is funny, down to earth, gorgeous and BRITISH. I mean...helloooooooooo sexy!

I freaking looooooooooooooved Callum. Maybe it's because I have a thing for Brits, but this dude. Wow. He's the whole package. And I loved that he was persistent with Nicole, but not in an annoying way. He knew what he wanted and he went after it. Callum and Nicole had ridiculous chemistry and once Nicole gives into her attraction to him, these two practically melted my ereader.

Nicole was a hoot! She had no filter and wasn't afraid to tell people like it was. More than once her actions and her words had me laughing out loud. I wanted to hang out with her and the rest of the ladies because they are not only super entertaining, but they are also the definition of true friendship. They always have each other's backs and are there for each other in the worst of times. Every female should have friendships like Nichole and her crew.

If you are a fan of Corinne, this is definitely a 1-click. This book is smart, funny, sexy, and even a little sad because let's be honest, Corinne wrote it.

Corinne Michaels is the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestseller author. She’s an emotional, witty, sarcastic, and fun-loving mom of two beautiful children. Corinne is happily married to the man of her dreams and is a former Navy wife.
