I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
In this book Meghan Quinn attempts to answer the age old question, Can you write a romance novel if you are a virgin? That is an age old question isn't it?
I LOVED ROSIE. She grew up being homeschooled, so saying she lived a sheltered life would be an understatement. Then she went to college, met her best friends and current roommates Henry (who I love and actually want to be a real person) and Delaney (I'm still not sure if I like her...she just rubbed me the wrong way at times), and started to experience all the stuff she missed growing up. Well, almost all the stuff...she is twenty-three year old virgin.
Rosie currently works at a cat magazine and hates her job. The cats that live in the office are a nuisance and one of them actually torments her (and it is REALLY FUNNY). She always wanted to write a romance novel, so one day she starts to write. Unfortunately for Rosie, her sexual inexperience hinders her writing, so she decides that in order to write a book she is going to lose her virginity.
What ensues is nothing short of HILARIOUS. I won't give specifics because you need experience reading what happens for the first time yourself, but I will say that I laughed out loud A LOT. And in public. Like I am a on a crowded subway car and I'm laughing out loud, public. Her friends try to help her out along the way, but Rosie manages to not lose her virginity in numerous hilarious ways.
While this is a funny story about a girl trying to lose her virginity, there is also a love story. When she does eventually lose it, it actually means something. I won't tell you who the lucky guy is, but I will say that I was extremely happy with the direction the book went.
Here is a little excerpt that actually made me cry (luckily I wasn't in public) when I read it:

Chills flew over my body as my stomach flipped upside down and Virginia started flapping in excitement.
“I know I was an ass, and I know I haven’t been the easiest person to be around lately, but I blame you,” he smiled. “You turned my life upside down the minute you decided you wanted to date. I couldn’t take the thought of you with anyone else, because I knew deep down in my soul you belonged with me. Rosie, I’m sorry for everything, the way I treated you, for bringing Tasha into this; I was just…lost. I thought you wanted to go out with that Atticus guy, right after we shared one of the most amazing moments of my life.”
“One of the most amazing?” I asked, while tears streamed down my face.
“Yes, the most amazing was when I met you.”
I chuckled and wiped a tear away from face. “That was so corny.”
“Yes, but true.” Looking me in the eyes, he asked, “Do you feel the same, Rosie?”
His eyes pleaded with me, begged me to say yes, and that’s when I realized the man truly adored me. He wasn’t playing with me, he wasn’t trying to just be kind, no, this man sitting next to me, searching my eyes for an answer, undoubtedly loved me with every inch of his being. The revelation was intense, heartwarming, and so damn overwhelming that the only thing I could think of was to throw my body at him and kiss those lips that I’d been dreaming of for the past week.
Sweet right? Meghan Quinn is a freaking genius. She made me laugh, cry, swoon, get angry, frustrated and cheer. This book has EVERYTHING and it is a wonderful read. Now go 1-click this book!!!

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
