RELEASE BLAST & 5 STAR REVIEW: All We Are (The Ex-Factor #2) by Elisabeth Grace & Michelle Lynn

Coming face-to-face with my past changes EVERYTHING.

I’m at the top of my game. All my struggles have finally paid off. Life should be great.

I mean, life is great.

Except for the fact that I can’t stop thinking of her. The woman who mangled my heart into a bloody pulp and never looked back.

If I could free myself of our shared memories, my future would be golden.

There’s only one way to move on—I have to confront the past, so I can move into the next chapter of my life in peace. Which means confronting her for the final time.

I had no idea that knocking on her door that day would turn my life upside down.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

After reading All We Were, I was left in a semi state of shock. I couldn't believe how things ended and I immediately wanted the next book. Once I had this book on my Kindle, I knew what I wanted to happen, but I was nervous as to how everything was going to play out.

This book picks up 6 years after All We Were. One of the big questions I had was answered right away, but there was much more I needed to know.

I'm not going to go into any detail because I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that while this book didn't play out the way I thought it would, I loved everything about it. Lilah and Jimmy have such a storied past and even though a lot of it is not great, they have reason to put all of that behind them.

This book killed me in the best way possible. I laughed a little. I cried a little. And by the end I was grinning from ear to ear. It was absolutely perfect!

Will I ever stop hurting the one person who’s never hurt me?

I’ve done things I can never undo.

No matter how much I wish I could, sometimes the wounds I inflict are too deep, too catastrophic, too septic to heal.

As I look into the eyes of the only man I’ve ever loved I know I’ve gone too far. I’ve finally crossed the line.

Even if he knew my reason for doing this, he’d never forgive me.

He always puts my needs before his own.

Now it’s my turn to protect him.

None of that matters though because the betrayal and disgust in his eyes comes from deep within his soul. There’s no coming back from this.

He will forever be tormented by what he’s seen, and he will never forgive me.

The last fragment of my heart to hold out hope that we’d share a future, withers and dies.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Lilah and Jimmy have known each since they were little kids. They both had terrible childhoods and if it wasn't for Jimmy, Lilah probably would not be alive. He was all Lilah had and vice versa. At their first chance, they left home and went to Los Angeles. Jimmy became an actor and Lilah a model. And an addict.

To say that their relationship is complicated is an understatement. Jimmy wants the real thing with Lilah, but she wants them to stay in the "friends with benefits" category. Jimmy also wants her to get clean, but Lilah feels that she needs the drugs and alcohol to get by. But he has been putting up with it for a long time and he is getting increasingly frustrated by her antics and I didn't blame him.

There are plenty of sweet moments between Lilah and Jimmy, but at this stage in their life there seems to be more explosive ones than sweet. I kept waiting for the the "big thing" to happen. There was so much drama I felt that it could happen at any moment. Plus I knew this was book one of a duet and figured that it would end with some sort of bombshell, but I was not expecting the one I got. WOW.

I am so curious as to what path this story will take in the next book. I'm already coming up with ideas in my head, but I am sure that whatever I come up with won't be nearly as good as what it will actually be.

COVER REVEAL: Love Surfaced by Michelle Lynn

Love Surfaced
Synopsis:

The equations are simple.

Piper Ashby + Brad Ashby = Twin Siblings
Brad Ashby + Tanner McCain = Best Friends
Piper Ashby + Tanner McCain = Off limits

Tanner and I abided by the rules. We stayed on our designated sides of the relationship circle.

Ignoring swarming butterflies.
Brushing off skipped heartbeats.
Settling on lingering stares.

Here’s the secret … a hand extended over that invisible line once, exponentially changing the equation. I was convinced we could make our relationship work until Tanner broke the trust he embedded in me from the age of seven.

One deceit of mega proportions and the relationship we built for that short month vanished. I swore never to speak to him again and it’s worked. Until now—two years later, when my brother’s wedding places me face-to-face with the best man—Tanner McCain.

Leaving one equation to be solved. Can love surface twice?

AUTHOR BIO:

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids.  She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write.   With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends.  But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.
