Yes! We finally get Sawyer's story! And it's a friends to lovers one that made me all warm and fuzzy inside. 

Sawyer and Gabi were best friends in college and while she was very much in love with him, he only saw her as a friend. So when Gabi got the opportunity to leave town (and Sawyer), she did. But now it is five years later and Gabi is back. She had no intention of reaching out to Sawyer, but fate had other plans. 

Sawyer truly had no idea why Gabi left town without a word, but he's very happy that she's back. Sawyer is very insistent that they start hanging out again and against her better judgement, Gabi agrees. Things are going great, actually better than great, between them and then relationship turns into a friends with benefits arrangement. Of course that means things get way more complicated and confusing than they originally planned and that just makes everyone involved emotional and confused.

I just loved Gabi and Sawyer! Friends to lovers is my own personal form of catnip, so I devoured this book. I loved their friendship and I loved their quasi-romantic relationship even more. That doesn't mean I didn't want to smack both of them upside the head though. As with a lot of friends to lovers romances, I found myself thinking, "OH MY GOD JUST REALIZE THAT YOU ACTUALLY LOVE EACH OTHER". But if they did, then we wouldn't have the awesome grovel (I love a good grovel) scene that melted my ice cold heart. 

Next we have Hayley and Dante's story and I don't want to get ahead of myself and say that Katie has saved the best for last, but I do know that I have been waiting for these two since book #1. I CANNOT WAIT. I love me a cranky hero and Dante is really freaking cranky. I just want to know his story and see how these two finally get together!

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review. 

Liam knows exactly what he wants in a woman. He has a list of requirements and only goes out with woman who check those boxes. Juliet is a retired (way too early) ballet dancer who is looking to shake up her life. One night she finds herself at Rascals and her path collides with Liam's. The two share a dance and then a hot kiss in an alley, which throws both of their lives off balance. 

Thanks to an unclosed bar tab, a forgotten credit card and a need for another bartender at Rascals, Juliet and Liam's paths collide again, but this time it's as employee and employer. Liam knows that Juliet doesn't check all the boxes, but he can't help but be attracted to her. When they are together, they have fun and Liam forgets to be the uptight business man he is most of the time. 

I really enjoyed this book and I just loved Juliet. Now that she is no longer a dancer, she is able to do things that she never could before. Like eat pizza. Ya know, it's the little things. She's starting a whole new chapter in her life, and she has Liam (as well as the rest of the Rascals crew) there with her. She was an extremely likable character and I loved that she was able to bring Liam out of his shell. Because I gotta tell you, that dude really needed it. 

I such a fan of this series. I love when a series focuses on a group of friends because with each book you don't just get a story with the main characters, you get the whole group. And with this series, the author has been teasing a couple that I am DYING to read about. Of course it will be the last book in the series, but I cannot wait to read it!

Kelsey has been crushing on her boss for a long time, but he sees her as his employee. But Kelsey thinks that it is time to change that. The problem is she can't flirt to save her life. She enlists help from Chase, her friend and resident manwhore. Kelsey is positive that Chase can give her the tips she needs to finally get her boss to date her. What she gets is that and a whole lot more.

Eek! I love these two so freaking much!! Kelsey and Chase were so good together. I'm such a fan of friends to lover stories and there was something about these two that just clicked for me. They got along so well and their move into the fling category was so easy for them. And they had amazing chemistry which made the sexy times really hot!

And Chase. Chase! He's ridiculously charming and knows it. I loved that he was hesitant to help Kelsey and not because he thought she didn't need help, she definitely did, but because he thought the she was perfect the way she was. He didn't think that she should have to "turn it on" to get the guy. And he went to bat for Kelsey when her ridiculous mother made me want to reach into the book and punch her in the throat. I. LOVED. HIM. 

This is a great addition to the series. It's a fun read that you will not want to end. I need more Kelsey and Chase! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Jax and Penny made a promise to each other when they were twelve years old: If they weren’t married by a certain age, they would marry each other. Now it's fifteen years later and the two reconnect after Jax saves Penny from a terrible date. She's grateful for the save, but Penny doesn't realize that the reappearance of Jax in her life will change everything. 

Jax grew up in a house where his parents didn’t love each other anymore and thanks to that, he thinks the only way a marriage can be successful is if, above all else, the couple are friends. Looking to land a lead role in an upcoming movie, Jax proposes that Penny act as his girlfriend to help get rid of his playboy reputation. He sees it as the perfect plan. They still get along like a house on fire and according to way he thinks, a friendship is all they need to succeed. And that's what they have.

I absolutely loved that they knew each other when they were young. They both had very different upbringings, but were able to find common ground, forming a bond that would last over the years. Penny has lived a safe life. She's never taken any risks and when Jax presents her with a life that is basically the opposite of what she has now, she ends up taking what may be the biggest risk of all.

Once I picked this book up, I couldn’t put it down. I was so invested in Jax & Penny's relationship and hoping that they could make it work. The slow burn between them was so delicious and the pay off was absolutely amazing. These two were made for each other and watching them come to that realization was so enjoyable. 



I enjoy Katie’s books so much! They are always so much fun and pretty drama free. Go 1-click this book!
