RELEASE BLITZ & 4 STAR REVIEW: Kiss Me, Stupid by Gia Riley

Kiss Me, Stupid, an all-new standalone romance by Gia Riley is NOW LIVE!

Thirty-five thousand feet in the air, I impulsively planted my lips on a stranger.

To say it was out of character was the understatement of the century.

But I wasn’t worried.

It’s not like I’d ever see him again.

Or so I thought.

When I least expected it, there he was. And he looked so much better than I remembered.

It was only supposed to be one kiss—a drunken lip-lock to ring in a new year.

But sometimes, history repeats itself.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

This Wirth has just broken up with his girlfriend and by doing so has put a stop to his Nashville music career. He hops a flight back to NYC and he finds himself sitting next to the most interesting woman. Chandler hates to fly and as she is going through her pre take off rituals, she realizes that she is being watched.

Despite the fact that Wirth thinks Chandler is a bit quirky, he finds himself drawn to her. Not only is she gorgeous, but she is quite funny and just what he needed to get through his flight. The two share a kiss at midnight and arrive in NYC thinking they will never see each other again. But of course that is not the case and before they know it they find each other again.

I really enjoyed this book! Chandler and Wirth were adorable together and I loved them together from the moment they met. That whole scene when they meet was so good that I read it multiple times because it made me laugh and then swoon. Two of my favorite things! The rest of the book is fantastic as well. We meet Wirth's friend Hollis who is also a giant sweetheart and Wirth's sister Maisie. All I will say about them is that I hope we meet them again soon.

For me, this book was a quick read. I was definitely sucked into the story and I found myself laughing out loud a bunch of times, which is something I definitely didn't do with the author's last release. I love when authors can go back and forth between making us cry and laugh!

RELEASE BLITZ & 5 STAR REVIEW: Until We Are Gone by Gia Riley

Until We Are Gone, an all-new Standalone Emotional Romance by Gia Riley is NOW LIVE!!

I wanted a family with Cash.

We had dreams –building a house, kids, a dog, and, yes, even the white picket fence.

Or so I’m told.

I don’t remember anything about my husband. Not the wedding or the vows we shared.

The past ten years were erased and with time, they’re supposed to come back.

But this isn’t your typical case of amnesia

What if I’m not supposed to remember?

What if I was meant to forget?

Maybe I don’t want my old life back.

Because if the accident hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have uncovered the truth.

Losing my memory wasn’t tragic.

Losing my memory was fate.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Meadow has been in an accident that has taken her memory. She doesn’t know her husband, Cash, and only remembers her family that is no longer around. Cash is determined to get back to the life they had before the accident, but Meadow just cannot remember. And once Meadow returns to a life she doesn't know, both their lives turn into a living nightmare. Meadow's journey to discover who she is a tough one and things aren’t always what they appear to be.

This story is hard to read at times and for many different reasons. Maybe you will feel for Cash and his struggles to help Meadow remember. Or maybe your heart will break for Meadow because her attempts to remember result in absolutely nothing. I certainly couldn’t relate to what they were going through, but my heart absolutely broke for both of them.

I can't recommend this book enough. I found myself crying more than once and I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how everything played out. The author gives us plenty of twists and turns to keep you thinking and if you are like me, you may come up with your own theories as to what is going on. You'll also meet some  of secondary characters that add a lot of depth to the story
. By the time I finished, I was emotionally exhausted and very happy with the ending.

EXCERPT

The man grabs my hand and laces his fingers with mine, careful not to jostle the IV. Nothing about his hand is familiar, and I’m left wondering if it’s okay to be touching at all.

“Who are you?” I ask him, wondering why he still hasn’t told me his name. If he’s someone who saved me, then I want to know. I need to know. “Are you the pilot?”

He sucks in a breath, and the tears flow harder down his cheeks. There’s a long, uncomfortable pause, and he barely blinks.

A few seconds later, he clears his throat and says, “Cash. I’m Cash. Your husband.”

I search his face for anything familiar. A dimple. A wrinkle. Maybe a freckle. But nothing about him triggers a single memory. I should feel more than this. I should have love for the man I married. I’m not sure how long ago, but we exchanged vows. Vows I don’t remember. And I’m sure I wore a white dress, probably my dream dress, and I don’t even know if it was made of lace or satin. My first Holy Communion dress was an expensive chiffon, and I hated that itchy material, so I’m sure it couldn’t have been chiffon.

Cash brushes his finger down the side of my face, chasing away a tear. I didn’t realize I was crying.

“I think I want to be alone,” I whisper.

He pauses and then lets go of me.

I wait for him to say something, but he just tucks closed fists into his pockets and stares at the floor.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

This book picks up right where we let off in Wrong Side of Heaven. The shit has hit the fan and I can honestly say that I had no idea how it was all going to play out. There were a few possibilities and while some seemed out the realm of possibility, I still wasn’t sure which way things would go. And it's a good thing I have easy access to the author because I definitely sent her messages  because I just couldn't help myself!

Winnie has gone through some terrible stuff in her life and things are about to get even harder. What she had of a support system starts to slowly break down and she comes to the conclusion that she can only really rely on herself. She made some tough choices that absolutely broke my heart and I just wanted to go into the book and make everything better. I needed her to get out of the world she lived in and find that happily ever after. To get away from everything, but not necessarily everyone. I definitely had thoughts as to who I wanted her to end up with and I just kept my fingers crossed as I read.

Did you know that Gia Riley is an evil genius? Because she is. There were a couple twists and turns that made me gasp and basically stop my heart. There were even times when this book was little hard to read , but only because it hurt my heart. NO BIG DEAL. It's fine. But seriously, I cried my way through the last couple chapters. Sad tears. Happy tears. I was exhausted by the time I finished and completely satisfied with how everything played out.

And I'm not saying that at some point Gia should do like a 10 year check in with some of the characters in this book, but THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I AM SAYING. I just need to know that everyone is okay. And I have a feeling that I'm not the only one who feels this way.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Winnie has had a rough life. Her father is gone and she now lives with a drug addicted stepmother who hates her. Every night Winnie goes to sleep not knowing what will happen during the night. Will her stepmother Tess come home drunk? High? Will anyone try to enter her room? It's a never ending cycle of fear. She's learned to make herself invisible so people will just leave her alone.

But that changes when she has to go to work at the local bar/strip club and finds a fellow classmate working there. Jasper is a nice boy. He's intrigued by Winnie and wants to be her friend even though Winnie makes it very clear that she doesn't have friends. He becomes someone that Winnie finds herself leaning on even though she doesn't want to. The only other good person in her life is Trey, a friend of her father's, and he comes and goes as his job allows.

This book is an emotional read. Winnie's life sucks. She deals with things that no seventeen year old should have to deal with. At this point in her life, loss is all she knows. Over a very short period of time Jasper becomes another person she can count on. And the thought of Winnie losing that is too much to take on. She also to make decisions that not only change the course of her life, but also the people around her.

I was emotionally exhausted by the time I finished this book. And (SPOILER) it ends on a cliffhanger so that made me shake my fist and immediately want to read the next book.

EXCERPT

I’ve become a prisoner in my own body, held captive by my thoughts. Without a TV, there’s not much to do besides write, draw, and think. When I run out of paper, I get antsy, and I talk to Dad, praying he’s watching over me. Because, no matter how hard I try to block out the noise, the inside of my brain feels like a cluttered junk drawer full of odds and ends that don’t matter. A bunch of trash that’s stuck in a small space with no purpose.

Sometimes, the voices are so loud, I pace in circles until the ratty carpet fibers stop laughing at me. If I don’t, I’ll end up in the bathroom with the blade against my thigh. On days when I can’t get the chatter to stop, I run the smooth metal over my skin and watch the blood seep out.

Blood—the lifeline that unites a family.

All my family is dead or gone.

God, I hate the sight of blood. The smell. The consistency. The way it smears and stains everything it touches. But, once the blade touches my skin, I forget about Tess and how little I have. Suddenly, that little cut is all I can think about, and I love the way it silences the screaming inside my head.

For those few seconds of peace, I forget that Dad’s not coming back, that Trey is gone, and how Tess isn’t ever going to be the mother I need her to be. I’m no longer lonely and afraid. I’m the girl who looks in the mirror and likes what she sees.

I am me. Nobody else.

Excerpt

One thunderstorm fades into another, and I keep my eyes on the stars, praying this one isn’t as bad as the last. It’s tornado season in Kansas—the only other force besides Tess that threatens me on a daily basis.

The crack of thunder is sharp, and the flashes of lightning so close together, I know it’s almost time to get in the closet. There’s no basement. No shelter to run to with a secret door to the underground. It’s just creaky floorboards, dust, and a protective layer of cotton pillows I bought at the dollar store.

If the storm were to pull the roof off the trailer, there’s not much else inside my room for the wind to whip around. The only other piece of furniture I own is a dresser. But I learned, whatever I put in there, Tess will take, so I keep my clothes in the trunk in the closet. The little bit of money I have is kept in a secret compartment in the floor. It’s not much, but I save every penny I earn from babysitting jobs around the trailer park.

Over the summer months, I try to pick up as many nights as I can because, without school, I spend too much time in the trailer. Too much time with Tess leads to problems.

Last night, we argued about my chest. She said my boobs were getting too big and that my mother probably had a matching set, just like all the other whores in town. If I knew anything about my mom, I’d disagree, but Tess could be right, so I didn’t bother trying to convince her otherwise.

As much as I hate Tess, she’s all I have. When my dad died, Tess decided to keep me. She said something about the money from the government helping to pay the bills. I’m not stupid. I know all that money goes up her nose and feeds her habit.

Sometimes, when Tess is exceptionally bitchy, I almost wish I had gone into the foster system. At least then I’d have had a chance at happiness. Because living in Carillon is nothing but hell. A hell I can’t escape until I turn eighteen and graduate high school.

Three hundred sixty-four days separate me and freedom.

I am me. Alone and by myself.

RELEASE BLITZ, REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: I'll Make You Mine by Gia Riley

Cover Design: MG Cover
Release Date: September 13, 2017

A girl who’s ready to love.
A guy who only wants one girl.
Sounds like a match made in heaven, right?

Wrong.

With a twin sister encouraging her to hook up with all the wrong people, Zoe’s being pulled in a million different directions.

Dylan Tuner can’t stand by and watch it happen. He’s tired of loving Zoe Allen from a distance, and he’s more determined than ever to escape the friend zone.

Can Dylan get his best friend to fall for him before they graduate college? Or does Zoe already have a plan of her own?

Two best friends.
Two polar opposites.
One final chance.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

When the book opens, Dylan is about to get it on with Keely. You're probably thinking "Well what's wrong with that?" Under normal circumstances the answer is nothing, but when the girl Dylan really wants is Keely's twin Zoe, that's a problem. And yes, I know that sounds a little creepy but trust me when I say the creep factor is basically zero.

But let's go back a little. Dylan and Zoe meet in the gym's equipment closet their freshman year of high school. She gets caught up in some volleyball netting and Dylan helps her out. Turns out they are both very aware of the other person and before Zoe knows it, she has a date for the upcoming Sweetheart Dance and also a new best friend. Now it's seven years later and they have assumed that they've friendzoned each other. But Dylan desperately wants to change that. When the opportunity for Dylan and Zoe to become roommates arises, he thinks he's concocted he perfect plan. Essentially they will live together and she will see that she can't live without him. BOOM. Problem solved. (Of course there is more to it than that, but you will just have to read for yourself.)

Dylan. Wow. That guy is romance on two legs. I lost count of how many times I found myself swooning over the romantic things he said to Zoe. And he had a lot to say. I mean he basically stockpiled his feelings for seven years. But the thing I loved most about Dylan was his persistence in trying to win Zoe's heart. Or maybe I should say get her to realize that she had already given him her heart. Zoe didn't make it easy on him but he never gave up on her. He just loved her too much and wasn't about to let her get away.

I LOVED ZOE. She is so freaking awkward at times and is always finding herself in some of the funniest situations. Seriously y'all, this girl made me LOL more than once with her antics. Then at one point in the book she says this:

"Because I don't feel sexy, Dylan. When I look in the mirror, I see an average girl. A girl who doesn't spend hours on her hair because she sucks at using the curling iron. A girl who can't stand a lot of makeup on her face, even though it's make me prettier. My clothes aren't designer, they come from sales racks because I'm already knee deep in school loans. I'm nothing special."
I finished reading that and immediately thought "Oh my god that's me!" I could relate to Zoe, and I don't mean me as a college student. I could relate to her as current me, a grown ass woman. And I just loved how Dylan made a point to tell/show her just how wrong she was about herself. He just wanted Zoe to see herself through his eyes. If that's not love, then I don't what is.

This books is full of friends to lovers, NA goodness. You will definitely laugh a lot and maybe even shed a tear or two. So do yourself a favor and 1-click this book!
