5 Star Review: Tangled Games (Dating Games #5) by T.K. Leigh

Every girl dreams of becoming a princess.
But this is no fairy tale.

When I met Anderson North, I fell in love with the man, not the title. With his heart, not the crown.

But as I step foot in the Nation of Belmont for the first time as the Crown Prince’s fiancĂ©e, I’m reminded of exactly who he is outside of the bubble we built around ourselves.

I’m reminded of exactly who I’ll need to become if I’m to survive this tangled web of antiquated rules, constant media attention, and negative publicity from a country that hates the idea of an American marrying their future king.

This may be a life of privilege and excess, but I soon learn that with notoriety comes jealousy.
With fame comes enemies.
With a crown comes a gilded cage.

I’ve always dreamed of finding my happily ever after. I didn’t realize ours would come at a price.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I love everything about Anderson and Nora. I love how they met and fell in love. I love how they took a chance to be with the other person despite all the obstacles they faced in the first book. And now that Anderson has returned home, with Nora by his side, they are about to face even more obstacles.

I will say that I found some things in this book to be a bit predictable, but I found it so well written and I was so invested in making sure that it all worked out that I just didn't care. Anderson and Nora may have had people around them that didn't approve of their relationship, but they had plenty who had their back (aka lots of familiar faces). And that is what makes the difference.

I had read quite a few books since I read Royal Games and I absolutely forgot some key plot points from that book. So imagine my surprise when these things came up and I was like "Oh that's right!!" I also went to bed one night thinking "I'll just read a few chapters" and then it was a couple hours later (aka way past my bedtime) and I had finished it. I just couldn't put it down. That's how good it is.

4 STAR REVIEW: Royal Games T.K. Leigh

I was his biggest regret. He was my greatest adventure...

Every girl dreams of falling in love with a prince.

When I met Jeremy, I thought he was my prince.

Caring. Compassionate. Sensitive.

And, unfortunately for me, not attracted to women.

So here I am, thirty years old and divorced when most of my friends are just getting married. In desperate need of a restart, I set off on a road trip to learn how to love myself again.

The last thing I expected was to meet him.

Anderson North.

Mysterious. Enigmatic. Incredibly handsome.

And, after a malfunction with my rental car, my new road companion.

Can I give this man a piece of my heart after having it broken?
Can I learn to trust again after having that trust betrayed?
When he reveals his deepest secret, can I look beyond the lies and toward the only thing that matters?

I've always dreamed of finding my very own Prince Charming.

Maybe my prince is Anderson North.

Royal Games is a standalone angsty road trip romance with a royal twist.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I love a good road trip story! I've read a few over the years and they are always so entertaining. And this book was no different. Nora has her reasons for driving Route 66. And they are very good reasons. But so does Anderson. The last thing either of them are looking for is a road trip companion, but after they find themselves running into each other multiple times and Nora has car trouble, that is exactly what they get.

Whew! What a ride this book was! There were plenty of lighthearted moments to keep the story upbeat, but what stayed with me was the angst. A LOT of angst. I will admit that I figured out part of the plot early on, but then it went one step further and knocked me on my butt! I could not believe what I was reading and I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall! (I do that a lot with TK's books!)

The relationship between these  is a wonderful slow burn that drove me crazy in the best way possible. Nora wants to take things slow and has very good reasons for it, but OMG it was torturous to read. I definitely didn't yell "JUST DO IT ALREADY!" while I was reading. Nope! (Thank god I was quarantining by myself while reading this!)

And I am so happy that Nora & Anderson's story isn't finished. This book was just the beginning of their story and I feel as though there is so much more to tell!!! I can't wait!
