My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Corey! Finally. Gah! I’ve been patiently waiting for his book and now he is here!

Constance only knows life as a member of Ash Harris’ community. When the time comes for her to get married, Ash chooses the worse possible man and Constance knows she has to get away. A plan is made and she is told that someone will meet her in the other side of the fence. They probably didn't mean Corey Campbell, but he is the first person Constance happens to see.

I have loved Corey from the very beginning of this series. He’s sweet, loyal, loves fiercely and always wants to do what’s right. So when Constance shows up on his land and clearly needs a place to go, he doesn’t hesitate to take her in. Her clothes automatically give her away as a member of the community next door. The same one that the police have been investigating and using Corey’s land to do so. And since he finds her wandering during the night, during a massive rain storm, he realizes that her escape was probably not well planned and will need a place to go. So of course Corey opens his home to her. It doesn’t take long for Constance to become a part of Corey’s life and he quickly realizes he will do whatever it takes for it to stay that way.

This book is definitely my favorite of the series. Corey is just THE BEST. At first glance he may seem like a scary dude, but underneath it all he is just a giant teddy bear. When Constance first starts to live with him, she is a bit timid and slightly worried that she will be discovered. Corey reassures her numerous times that he will protect her no matter what. The two start off as friends, but as they get to know each other, they realize that they are perfect for each other. Corey worries that their age difference and the fact that Constance has never seen the world will come between them, but she realizes that Corey and his family is all she needs.

In true Campbell family fashion, they accept Constance as one of their own right from the start. Corey has always been a bit of a loner and one glimpse of him and Constance together shows them that he has finally met the one. There is plenty of Campbell brother bonding so we get to check in with the rest of the family. I always enjoy how Wendy gives us the secondary story line in her books. This time it is a touching and emotional one that had me reaching for the tissues. And I can’t wait for the next book I this series. James is holding on to a big secret and I’m dying to know what it is!

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

God, I love me a Campbell boy. With every book, they just keep getting better and better!

Owen is the player of the family. He goes from woman to woman and the last thing he wants to do is settle down. But his life gets turned upside down when he meets a woman and responds to a car accident all within a couple hours. Life as he knows it changes and all for the better.

God I loved Owen so much. He was just the sweetest! A player with a heart of gold. From the minute he sees Ginny at his brother's wedding, Owen knows that she is special. He finds himself wanting to know her. Sure, he wants to do other stuff too, but he knows Ginny is different. He knows that unlike the women in his past, he could have more with her. Then a little girl enters his life that makes him realize he's been doing life the wrong way. And while this revelation should have rocked him to his core, he takes it in stride and finds himself with a ready to move forward.

I appreciated Ginny's apprehension to go all in with Owen. He got a lot dumped on his plate all at once and he really did need to come to some conclusions on his own. But she stuck by him the whole time, giving him the support he needed. And they were just wonderful together. And don't even get me started on little Ava. She was the CUTEST!

This book is a great addition to the series. As always we get the little secondary story that was also great. I ljust ove that we get a bit more of the couples from the previous books. Now bring on Corey!

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Drew Campbell. He is smart, kind, cute, but also very sexy and a freaking doctor. COME ON! The only bad thing about him is that, in the beginning, he has questionable taste in women. When he discovers, his current girlfriend in a compromising position, Drew thinks it's a perfect time go home and visit the family. Plus Lily is about to give birth so it's the perfect time for a visit.

The last thing Drew expects is to meet someone back home, but that is exactly what happens. When Lily's midwife Hayley immediately catches his eye, He tries to make a good first impression, but it doesn't go to well. During the birth of Adam and Lily's child, Drew tries to help, but is really just an adorable nuisance. But despite the fact that Drew gets on Hayley's nerves he apologizes and they two spend the night together.

That night is the start of something pretty awesome. Their relationship, which progresses very quickly, has it difficulties, the worst being the distance. But they are both determined to make the long distance thing work as it is the only option. Luckily they are both willing to do what they need to do to make it work.

In this book, we also get a glimpse into how Adam and Lily are doing. While they got their happily ever after in the previous book, Adam is still dealing with demons from his past. I loved watching the two of them work on their relationship, which is solid, but at the same time they both have to learn to lean on one another.

I can't wait for the rest of this series! Both Owen and Corey play important roles in this book and that made me like them even more. I can't wait to read their stories.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Lily wakes up one morning ready to marry the boy she loves and by the end of the day, both their hearts have been shattered into a million pieces. Adam, thinking Lily doesn't want him anymore leaves the country and doesn't return for twelve years. What prompts his return is a phone call from one of his brother's regarding the health of his mother. Returning home is the last thing he wants to do, but Adam knows that it is time.

It isn't long after he returns that Adam runs into Lily. Their meeting is surprising and drama free, but it does set off a chain of events that allows for Adam to be involved in Lily's life again. It was wonderful to watch them not only get a second chance, but to also watch them get to know each other again. A LOT has happened in the years they were apart and there is still a lot that they don't know.

It was obvious that Lily and Adam are still very much in love. Once they are able to clear the air and confront the demons from their past, it was easy to see why and how they still loved each other. I absolutely loved Lily and Adam together. Adam was a giant sweetheart and Lily was one strong woman. Once Adam realized what he really wanted, he did nothing but try to convince a hesitant Lily that they belonged together. He used his words and most importantly, his actions, to show her that he wasn't going anywhere.

Adam returning home not only has him repairing his relationship with Lily, but also with his brothers. While he was away, the contact he had with them was sparse and not all of his brothers were happy with his return. But I loved his brothers. I loved that even his his absence, Adam's brothers stuck around to help Lily out. She was about as stubborn as they come when it came to accepting help from others, but she let them and eventually Adam provide the help she so badly needed. I love those Campbell boys and I can't wait to learn more about them in the upcoming books.

The author has stated multiple times how this book is so different from the books that she as written as Ariadne Wayne and that's not a bad thing. It's definitely an emotional ready and I found myself getting choked up more than once. liked the use of flashbacks to fill in the gaps of what happened during the twelve years they were apart. Those were probably the hardest parts to read, but it showed that there was much more to the story than meets the eye. And there are a few surprises along the way that help keep the story fresh. And yes, this story is a bit darker than what people may be used to, but don't let that stop you from reading it. It is a wonderful second chance romance that will leave you wanting more.
