Whew! This duet has taken us on a JOURNEY. A journey that I would gladly take again for the first time. Seriously y'all...Kennedy has outdone herself with these books.
I'm not even sure what to start with Lennix and Maxim. I freaking loved them so much! Their story is an epic one. So much happens in this book and once I started reading, I could not stop. I dropped everything that I was doing that day, set up shop on my couch, and read the whole darn thing.
Just like the first book, Kennedy gives us more than just a love story. The plot is complicated and full of twists and turns that made me yell out loud and then message a fellow reader to be like "OH MY GOD ARE YOU READING THE REBEL KING?" But I also laughed and I even cried a few times.
By the end I was a mess or emotions and all I wanted to do was go back in time to read it again for the first time.

Her words break on a sob, and the elegant line of her shoulders trembles. “No one like you.”
