5 STAR REVIEW: Desperate Measures (Wicked Villains #1) by Katee Robert

My Savior… Or My Ruin?

One night, and my entire life went up in flames. All because of him. Jafar. As my world burned down around me, he offered me a choice. Walk away with nothing but my freedom… Or rise to his challenge and win my fortune back.

I bargained.

I lost.

Now Jafar owns me, and even as my mind rails against his rules, my body loves the punishments he deals out when I break them.

But a gilded cage is still a prison, I’ll do anything to obtain my freedom.

Even betray the man I’m falling for.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Ever wonder what would have happened if Jasmine wanted Jafar and not Ali? To be honest, I never did, but then the new Aladdin cast was announced and "Sexy Jafar" was born. Then some ideas were planted into Katee's mind and here we are!

At the beginning of the story all Jasmine wants is to live her own life, but understands that in order to get it, she will have to give up the only life she'd ever known. Then her circumstances change and she's thrust into yet another world that makes her feel even less in control. But by the end she is in complete control of her own destiny and I was yelling out a cliche "Yaaaaaaasssssss! You go girl!"

Then there are the sexy times. So much sexy times! I won't say more than that because I don't want to ruin anything, but dear lord this book will have you changing your panties and taking a cold shower.

When Katie announced this series I was totally on board, but now that I have read the first book I am like, "OH MY GOD GIVE ME THE REST OF THE SERIES NOW." We are introduced to some of the future book characters in the most sexy was possible and I can't wait to read more!

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Katee Robert learned to tell her stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her 2015 title, The Marriage Contract, was a RITA finalist, and RT Book Reviews named it 'a compulsively readable book with just the right amount of suspense and tension." When not writing sexy contemporary and romantic suspense, she spends her time playing imaginary games with her children, driving her husband batty with what-if questions, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
