Quinn has been learning Italian as a way to get in touch with his family’s heritage. Up until now his teacher has been an older gentleman, so he’s very surprised when the beautiful and very young Alessandra shows up to one of his lessons. Alessandra is only weeks away from fulfilling her dream of moving to Italy and she picks up the additional tutoring session as a way to make some extra money before she leaves.

From the moment Quinn meets Alessandra, he is intrigued by her. And while there is a sixteen year age difference, you would never know it. She is very mature for her age and when they are together, the conversation flows easily and it’s almost like they have known each other for forever. Quinn realizes that Alessandra is a special woman and woos her big time. *sigh* I loved Quinn. 

As Quinn and Alessandra spend time together, their feelings start to grow into a lot more than either of them expected. They both know that there is expiration date on their relationship and that date is very soon. Even Quinn’s brothers pick up on the fact that there is a lot more going on and that both delights and worries them. But neither Quinn or Alessandra care that much. They’d just know they want to spend as much time together as possible because who knows when they will have the chance again.

This book is definitely my favorite of the series. As soon as I heard “older man/younger woman” I was intrigued. With this trope there is always the threat of it being creepy, but luckily that never happens. Maybe it’s because Alessandra seemed much older than her twenty two years. Or maybe it was because Quinn was always gentleman. Who knows. All I know is that I loved these two and I wanted nothing more than for them to live happily ever after.

After the first two books in this series, I was so excited for Cooper to get his happily ever after. I absolutely loved him. He was sweet. Sexy. Sensitive. Caring. But by the end of the second book he was a broken man and all I wanted was for him to be happy. 

Cooper has taken a break from the family business. He needed to get away and heal, but now it is time for him to come back. Upon his return, he meets his new assistant Corinne and that is when the real healing begins. 

I think I shot myself in the foot with this book. I absolutely LOVED Cooper and was so excited to get his story, but I think I may have built it up a bit too much in my head. And then when I started reading, something happened, which had never happened before. I let current events color my view of something that happened in this book. I won't say what it was exactly, but I started reading this book soon after a giant news story broke. And then Cooper did something that made me think of that news story and it me so angry that I had to put the book down and take a little break. 

But while I was initially taken aback, I did end up finishing it and enjoying Cooper's story. Meeting Corinne and starting up a relationship with her helped him put things into perspective and make him realize what is really important. 

And now I can't wait for Quinn's story! It's an older man/younger woman story! Yayyyyyyyyy!

My Review

We were left with a decent sized cliffhanger at the end of Dirty Little Secret. I knew that there was more to the story and I couldn't wait to find out what it was. Gavin finds himself in a situation that he's never been in before and he's not quite sure what to do. Luckily that was resolved kind of quickly, although there are some related residual issues that come up and threaten Emma and Gavin's happiness. 

Emma and Gavin's story is one of love, heartache and learning to follow your heart. Emma really impressed me in this book. She had to really thinking about what she wanted and make a choice that decided what path to happiness she took. One path seemed like the easy route while the other, while not necessarily terrible, was the rougher one. But when it's true love, it's true love. 

The next book in this series is about Cooper and I cannot wait! Kendall was able to do that thing where as much as I loved Gavin and Emma, I was more drawn to Cooper and his story. He's the good guy. The one that you should want. The last we saw him he was away from home, taking up lots of room on the bitter bus, and nursing a broken heart. It seems as though he will be returning home sooner than he thought. I can't wait to see how he handles everything and I am curious as to the woman who will help him get back to the sweet guy he once was.

I live in NYC and when it comes to my morning commute, I'm a creature of habit. I take the same route. I often see the same people. So when Emma sees the same gorgeous man in a coffee shop almost every day, for a year, I totally get why she would be curious about him. Then one day he drops his business card in the tip jar and Emma jumps at her chance to find out more about him.

Turns out Gavin Kingsley is quite the guy. He and his two brothers run a high end escort service and they are VERY successful. Emma's curiosity gets the best of her and she makes an appointment to be seen at his office. Not because she wants to be an escort, but because she just has to see him. But her trip to his office turns out to be a lot more interesting than she originally thought. She meets with both Gavin and his brother Cooper and before she knows it, an agreement is made. Emma will work for them, but exclusively with them. She will accompany Gavin and his brother to events when needed. No strings attached. Sounds good right? What could go wrong?

That's where things really got interesting. Cooper was extremely laid back and had a knack for immediately putting Emma at ease. While Gavin was a very intense and it her took a little bit to feel comfortable, especially at first. And to make things a little more complicated, it's clear that both men are attracted to Emma. Deep down Cooper knows that Emma and Gavin want each other, but that doesn't stop him from showing her what kind of man he is. But once Emma and Gavin spend some time together and go on a few dates, it's clear that these two are on the road to a relationship. It's a hot and steamy one with a little sweet thrown in and I really enjoyed it. But the road to happily ever after is a bumpy one and we are left with a bit of a cliffhanger that puts everything in jeopardy.

I know this book was about Gavin and Emma, but I really loved Cooper. He becomes a good friend to Emma and the person she can lean on when things get tough. And he also had no problem giving his brother a little kick in the ass to make him see things clearly. At times he may even crossed the line just a teeny tiny bit, but he definitely knew what he was doing. 

I cannot wait for the next one. I need to know how everything plays out!
