A spin-off from the #1 Amazon bestsellers, A Not So Meet Cute and So Not Meant To Be, USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn brings you a heart-warming, yet hilarious full-length novel on what life is like after the happily ever after.

Ryot Bisley is my husband.

Yes, the former third baseman for the Chicago Bobbies and absolute heart throb of the Windy City. That Ryot Bisley.

The first time I ran into him, he was grumpy, a horrific host, and left me on his sofa with nothing but a nylon baseball flag to use as a blanket.

The second time, he reluctantly bought me dinner, stared at my chest the entire night, and still sported that permanent frown.

The third time . . . well, that was a game changer. His smile captured me, his teasing charmed me, and his touches excited me.

So when he was called up to the majors that didn’t stop us from knocking it out of the park and all the way down the aisle.

Eleven years later…I’d love to say we’re happy as ever but the man who sent me dirty text messages every day is long gone and Mr. Frowny Face is back.

He’s so focused on trying to build a life after baseball that he doesn’t see the life we’ve already created together. . .so I make the hard decision and serve him divorce papers.

Problem is…my husband refuses to accept those papers. Instead, he has a new game plan that makes untying the knot of our marriage a little tricky. And just when I thought I wanted to be traded . . . he's slowly, tantalizingly roping me back in.

Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter narrate this sexy romance in duet and bring Ryot and Myla to life! You won't want to miss this audiobook and all the heat and emotions they bring to it. One-click your copy and get your newest eargasm today!

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

The marriage in trouble trope is not my favorite. If I had to put it in a top ten list of my favorite tropes, it would definitely be at the bottom. Having said that, I didn't dislike this book, but I also didn't love it.

I didn't just like Ryot, I freaking LOVED him. The book is told in the past and present so we get to see how their relationship developed and how they got to where they are today. Their first meeting was actually quite terrible and they go through periods of time where they are apart and not even communicating besides creeping on each other's Instagram accounts. (That made me laugh because that is definitely something people do.) But then they do reconnect and Myla does not want a relationship so they decide to be friends. Yup. Friends. Ryot has to play the long game and he did it masterfully!

To say that Ryot is blindsided when Myla serves him with divorce papers is putting it lightly. He doesn't understand why, but that doesn't stop him from declaring that he isn't going to give her up without a fight. Yes, he and Myla had a few rocky months in their marriage, but once he realized where he went wrong, he went all out to prove to her that he not only still loved her, but he wanted to make their marriage work. Cue the swoon behavior.

I had a love/hate relationship with Myla. She has a super complicated past, so that colored a lot of her decision making, and I understood that, but at the same time I couldn't help but dislike how she handled things.

And what is it with this author writing side characters that I dislike? Some of her recent books have some unlikable characters in them. I really wanted to like Myla's best friend Nicole, but she got on my nerves so much. I know she was just trying to be a friend, but I felt as though she overstepped multiple times when it came to Myla and Ryot's relationship.

I did enjoy the crossover characters from the author's previous books. My only problem is I have the memory of a goldfish and it takes me a bit to put all the pieces together. But I always love to revisit characters and see how they are doing.
