4 Star Review: To Fall for Winter (Kinney Brothers, #2) by Kelsey Kingsley

You think I'm ready to ruin you forever?"
"Oh, Ireland... You've already ruined me forever."

I’ve been called the Black Sheep. Troublemaker. And probably a dozen other words that are nowhere near that nice. My past is checkered. Full of questionable choices and even worse outcomes. But I’ve put it behind me. I’m on the straight and narrow now.

For two years, I've towed the line. Stayed out of trouble. Kept my head above water. And have not made even one reckless decision.

But then Snow came to River Canyon on the first day of winter.

Inked, pierced, and unafraid of speaking her mind, and going after what she wants, she made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Together, I knew we would make a mess.

I just couldn't keep myself from getting dirty.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Ryan is the black sheep of the family. After a series of personal missteps and with the help of his family, Ryan has managed to get his life in order. Then Snow walks into his life. She's this sassy, tattooed, very forward beautiful girl who lets it known very quickly that if Ryan wants her, he can have her. Ryan knows that bringing Snow into his life is probably a bad idea, but he does it anyway.

Snow is unlike anyone Ryan has met before. She quickly becomes a fixture around his apartment and the two find themselves spending a lot of time together. She refuses to label their relationship and Ryan is okay with that until he isn’t. Their relationship progresses quite quickly and they reach that point where their relationship is going to sink or swim.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a different feel than anything else I have read lately. Ryan and Snow didn’t have a conventional relationship, but they are also not conventional people. They accept each other for who they are and they don’t want to change anything about the other person and that is what is most important.

I've become such a fan of Kelsey's writing and I look forward to reading about the third Kinney brother, Ryan’s twin, Sean.

When I was a wee lassie, I was told by my preschool teachers that I was a natural at storytelling. When I was just a little older than that, an old friend's mother said to me, "Kelsey, one day your books are going to be on the shelves at the library."

Well, Diane, I don't know if my books are ever going to be on the shelves of libraries, but I'm sure as hell going to try.

When I'm not writing stories destined to be bestsellers, I enjoy devouring TV shows, listening to every type of music there is and going to concerts, reading pretty much anything (with a soft spot for romance and certain books located in 18th century Scotland), obsessing over makeup, and pretending to workout.

I also have a fondness for cats, my family, tattoos, and a really good French fry.
