“I’m face-down in forty glorious inches of well-endowed
cake, seriously reassessing my life choices, when suddenly I hear it. The voice
that launched a thousand teenage boy-band dreams. My #1 crush, Drew Delaney
himself.”
Ten years ago, Drew was boy-band royalty: the subject of a
million teenage fantasies - and the guy next door. He was so far out of my
league, I couldn’t see him for stars, but now I’m back in town for our
high-school reunion, guess who I run into but Mr. Right-Now himself…
Older. Hotter. And still sexy enough to make me forget about
the glittery white frosting currently smeared across my chest.
Sparks are flying, and so are my panties, and soon, our trip
down memory lane has taken a detour to ‘oh my god, don’t stop!’. Population:
me.
But can I turn Mr. Right-Now into Mr. Forever? Or will
crazed fans, vicious yoga moms, and three dozen c#ck-sicles (don’t ask) doom
our romance to the ‘Where are they now?’ section of MTV’s greatest hits?
You’ll be begging for a taste of Lila Monroe’s new sexy, laugh-out-loud
summer romance!

My Review
I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.
Maggie is going through a rough patch. Her bakery has gone under and she is now living at home with her parents. Not idea for a late 20 something who is used to being on her own. And then she runs into her old crush Drew. And this isn't just a normal crush. Oh no. He is the brother of her ex best friend who also happens to be an ex pop star. Yes, pop star. Think of your favorite boy band member (Hey JT!), times that by a hundred, and you have Drew.
When they were younger, Drew was always kind to Maggie and they had a nice friendship. But it's been years since they have seen each other and even though a lot has changed, Drew is still a good person and he wants nothing more than to spend time with Maggie.
This book is such a great read. I just LOVED the story. You have the best friend's brother trope (yes please!) that was amped up a little by their circumstances. Maggie always had a crush on Drew, but then he became famous and she had pictures of him on her wall! This was not your average teenage crush! The way that Maggie and Drew meet again is hilarious. She could have been embarrassed, but she put on a brave face and just went with it. Their relationship was a lot of fun. They were comfortable with each other from the start and they let the chips fall where they may. There were also a few laugh out loud moments that had me doing just that...in public.
