RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Under Fire by (Florida Glaze Hockey #1) M.E. Carter

Tempers are about to flare and sparks are about to fly…

Tucker Hayes is holding a grudge. After being unexpectedly traded from his beloved professional hockey team in San Antonio, he’s still trying to mesh with his new teammates in Tampa. It’s going fine, but that’s just it… fine.

Lacy Hawkins is holding a grudge of her own. She blames the man who left her alone five years ago and caused her dreams to die a slow and painful death. Now it takes all her energy everyday just to stay afloat.

When their paths unexpectedly cross again, drinks are thrown and anger becomes the norm. But Tucker and Lacy have to find a way to stop fanning the flames if they want to come out unscathed.

Because when you’re under fire, the innocent can get burned…

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I love the start of a new series! I have read the author's previous books, so I was already familiar with Tucker, but there is also a short story called Playing with Fire that came out before this essentially sets up this story. You don't have to read it before reading this one, but it is worth the read.

The thing I love about books by this author is that there is drama, but I never feel like it's too much drama. Don't get me wrong, I love a drama filled book, but I don't always want one or feel like the story warrants one.

Gah! Tucker is such a sweetheart. I just adored him. He had no problem stepping up and taking responsibility. And I really did enjoy Tucker and Lacy as a couple. I did get a little frustrated with Lacy and her doubts, but I understood why she had them. I just wish she had gotten over things a little earlier in the book. Because of those doubts, this book is a slow burn, which I liked, but I wanted a little more steam from them.

This book is sweet and a little sexy at times with a side of humor brought to you by some adorable children. A few familiar faces make cameos in this book and I always enjoy that. I look forward to the next book in this series!
