I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.
I feel like I have been reading a lot of second chance romance stories lately, but that's okay because I love them! In this case Sydney and Declan have a HISTORY. We learned a little about them in the first book of this series, but of course in this one, we get all the missing information. And it's a lot.
Sydney and Declan have a lot to work through. Once upon a time, they were in love, but then he left Sydney and never looked back. And he only came back to town because his (dead) father made him. It's obvious that they still have feelings for the other person, but it's a matter of working through the past in order for them to even be around each other.
When I read one of Corinne's books, I know that at some point I will be crying. Whether it's my eyes welling up or I'm sobbing, I know I will cry. And at one point during this book i was outright ugly crying. Whew. Talk about emotional. Corinne really goes for the jugular in this one and that's all I will say about that.
I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. It's a friends to lovers story and that's another trope that I love. Bring it on!
