RELEASE BLITZ & 5 STAR REVIEW: Van (Cold Fury #9) by Sawyer Bennett

Van (Cold Fury, Book #9)
by Sawyer Bennett

Release Date: November 28, 2017

Score one for the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team as a stone-cold badass melts for a woman who makes his blood run hot.

As one of the league’s toughest enforcers, Van Turner is ruthless on the ice. He plays hard because it’s the only way to channel the rage boiling inside, and a reputation as an A-hole is better than everyone knowing the truth. Van has spent his entire life running from a secret that’s kept him from getting involved in relationships—or accepting lucrative deals with East Coast teams. Then the Carolina Cold Fury makes him an offer he can’t refuse . . . and Van meets a woman he can’t resist.

Simone Fournier is the stubborn one in her family—and that’s saying something, considering her brothers are two of the Cold Fury’s biggest stars. Simone gets what she wants, and what she wants is Van. Still, there’s a part of him Simone can’t reach, no matter how hard she tries. In private, he’s all fire and passion. In public, he freezes her out. Van may want to push her away, but Simone won’t let him go that easily. Because this time, she’s playing for keeps.

Sawyer Bennett’s New York Times bestselling Carolina Cold Fury series can be read together or separately.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I love myself a cranky Alpha. And Van is the crankiest of all the Cold Fury men. We got a taste of his crankiness in the previous book, Lucas and the start of just how much Simone got on his nerves. But that was from Lucas’ viewpoint and now we get the good stuff...Van and Simone’s viewpoint.

Van’s crankiness is bad enough to scare most people away, but not Simone. I just LOVED her. She has no problem poking the bear, until Van did the only thing he knew to stop her...he gave into his own feelings. And talk about perseverance. Little by little Simone managed to implant herself not only into Van’s life, but also his heart. Van gave people a certain version of himself, but Simone knew there was more to it. Sure, she was extremely attracted to Van, but she didn't just want his body (even thought it started out that way). She wanted all of him.

I loved these two so much. They had plenty of heartwarming and sweet moments but these two also practically melted my ereader. Holy crap. Talk about hot. Van had a side to him that he wanted to keep hidden from not only Simone, but to the rest of the world. And much to his surprise, she not only embraced it, she helped him realize that it was okay if people knew. Before Simone he didn’t have much faith in people, but after her, he had faith in everything.

I don't know how Sawyer does it, but the books (and the men!) in the Cold Fury series just keeps getting better and better!
