RELEASE BLITZ & 4 STAR REVIEW: Run For Your Honey by Staci Hart

Twelve years ago, my first and only love left town and never came back.

How dare he show up now, looking like that.

And? He’s running against me for mayor.

It’s unfair, him standing there, too tall and handsome for his own good. It’s audacious that his clothes accentuate every lean, strong curve of his body. It’s universal BS that his smile makes my heart flipflop, and it’s patently un-freaking-believable that my body would betray me when he turns that gorgeous smile on me.

I’ll do whatever it takes to win, and he knows it.

But when he kisses me, all bets are off.

If I win, he leaves.

If he wins, I lose.

And either way, he breaks my heart.

But for reals, grab it ASAP! mybook.to/RunForYourHoney

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

This book is an A+ enemies to lover story. Poppy and Duke were the high school sweethearts who everyone thought would get married. Then he went away to college and never came back. But now Duke is back in town and he is after the job that Poppy wants.

From the moment Duke and Poppy lay eyes on each other again, it is very clear that there is a lot of unfinished business between them. And how they work through that business was them jumping each other any chance they got. Whatever works, right?

This is a sweet book and I adored Poppy and Duke. The way they chose to work out their differences may have not been the greatest idea, but in the end it helped them realize what they really wanted.

I really do love the Blum family. They are such a tight knit group and are always there for one another. And then there is the town who are mostly in Poppy's corner. We know from previous books how they can come together to help one of their own and this book is no different. I'll definitely miss this small Texas town and their quickly characters.

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Trial by Fire (Florida Glaze Hockey #2) by M.E. Carter

Chemistry this explosive can’t stay hidden for long…

Prestyn Caine doesn’t want to be known as a “hotel princess.” She wants to be recognized by the men in her family for who she is - a strong and confident business woman. Instead, she finds herself banging on the glass ceiling her great-grandfather put in place long ago. As if that wasn’t enough, her one foray into dating ended with her accidentally being the “other woman.” Needless to say, her faith in men is dwindling quickly.

Nick Williams hates wearing the title of Tampa’s Bachelor of the Year. He shies from any additional publicity of being a professional hockey player. Even dating without being hounded by the media doesn’t seem like a possibility. It doesn’t help to discover the untoward way his sister’s marriage fell apart. Any ability he had to trust others is quickly evaporating.

Still, despite the tumultuous way their paths cross, Prestyn and Nick have an undeniable attraction. With their busy careers and mutual disdain for the spotlight, a no-strings attached non-relationship is an ideal setup for both of them.

As long as they can keep their feelings in check, it doesn’t matter how much things heat up… right?

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I love when "let's fake date to scratch an itch" is paired with "I definitely won't develop feelings for you". You know going in that the itch will not be scratched and there will be feelings developed. It's just so lovely to watch unfold.

Nick and Prestyn were both very likable characters. I loved him because he wasn't your stereotypical athlete. He was pretty sensitive and loved poetry. Prestyn was the only woman in the family business, trying to prove herself. She was a badass who knew what she wanted and went after it. And when these two get together their chemistry was off the charts.

Thanks to Nick's sister, Nick and Prestyn meet in a very unconventional way. And there is a little bit of rocky start to their arrangement, but thankfully they are able to work through their issues. Overall there was very little drama throughout the book and that just added to my enjoyment of this story.

Since Nick plays for the Florida Glaze we get characters that we met in the previous book as well as the enjoyable shenanigans they get up to. You don't need to read the previous book to enjoy this one, but you should definitely go back and read it if you haven't

Author Bio

My name is ME Carter and I have no idea how I ended writing books. I'm more of a story teller (the more exaggerated the better) and I happen to know people who helped me get those stories on paper.

I love reading (read almost 300 books last year), hate working out (but I do it anyway because my trainer makes me), love food (but hate what it does to my butt) and love traveling to non-touristy places most people never see.

I live in Houston with my four kids, Mary, Elizabeth, Carter and Bug, who was just a twinkle in my eye when I came up with my pen name. Yeah, I'll probably have to pay for his therapy someday for being left out.
