RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Tagging Up (Callahan Family #5) by Carrie Aarons

All Anna Callahan wants is her independence.

Being the youngest member of her immediate family, and massive network of cousins, she’s always been sheltered. That ends now. After graduating with her masters in nursing, she’s ready to move out of her parents’ house, whether they support that decision or not. While wallowing in the guilt of that choice at the local bar, she bumps into the one guy she shouldn’t go near.

A player for her family’s team and her cousin’s best friend, Clark should come with a warning label. Not only because he’s the league’s number one playboy, but because he’s significantly older than her.

Unfortunately, they can’t seem to keep their hands off of each other. That initial night together leads to scorching glances across public parties, secret hookups in hidden places, and way more than either of their hearts bargained for.

But being with Clark means lying to those closest to them. When their secret is finally discovered, it sends the already skittish bad boy running for the hills. And although she claimed to want freedom with no strings, Anna can’t help but feel the sharp pull to be with him forever.

Clark Nyle swore a long time ago he’d never be committed to anyone.

After watching his mother ruin his father through adultery and abandonment, he knows that love is for masochists and he certainly isn’t one. Baseball and living life like every day’s a party are his only two passions.

Then his father dies, and he’s forced to question everything. It leads to a barstool, too many drinks, and into the backseat of his car with the one woman he should never have touched.

Now that he’s gotten a taste of Anna, he can’t stay away. Even if their secret affair comes with way too many consequences. Her family owns the team he plays for, not to mention his best friend would cut off his balls if he knew what they were up to. Plus, he doesn’t want anything long-term, and eventually he’s going to break her heart.

But the more time he spends with her, the more he seems to want a different future than the one he always planned on. Until they’re found out, and he’s forced to choose between his demons and the disapproval of his closest friends … or her.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

I love a well written age gap romance and this is exactly what this book is!

Anna and Clark have known each other for a while, but it isn't until they find themselves at their usual hangout, alone, nursing their current woes, that they act on any attraction they may have felt in the past. They agree that them being together is a terrible idea, but they just can't help themselves. Despite their difference in age, they enjoy each other's company and connect in a way that they've never experienced.

I loved Clark! I know Anna is close to her family and they are (mostly) supportive, but throughout this book I saw Clark as Anna's biggest supporter. Anna finds herself at a crossroads in her life and she may not have realized it, but she was looking for someone to give her the push she needed. She is done living at her parent's house and with Clark's encouragement, she's able to do the thing she had been trying so hard to do. And as a couple these two have wonderful chemistry and they made sense.

This book brings an end to the Callahan family series and I am sad to see it go. Just like the rest of the series, we see the various family members and their significant others/offspring throughout the book. They are there to give advice and/or help the other person get their head out of their booty or provide some much needed comic relief.

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW: Kiss and Don't Tell by Meghan Quinn

From USA Today bestselling author and the author of The Highland Fling, comes a brand new hockey romance about a wayward traveler falling in love with her ex-boyfriend's half-brother. Steamy and unapologetically witty.

Five hockey players, a cabin in the woods . . . and little old me, Winnie Berlin.

Sounds like the start of a fantasy, right? But it's not. It's my reality.

It all started when I got lost in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. A wicked thunderstorm sent my car mud sliding into a ditch and for a girl whose survival skills involve finding the nearest Starbucks, I was in deep trouble.

Forced to abandon my car in search of help, I stumbled upon a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Soaking wet, irritated, and in desperate need of a hot shower, I knocked on the door for help only to be greeted by five boisterous, burly, and insanely attractive men.

Not just men.

Professional hockey players.

I hit the motherload of fantasies, right? Wrong.

Because as it turns out, one of them is my ex-boyfriend's half-brother. And when I end up crashing in their spare bedroom for the night, things take a very unexpected turn.

I'm not sure any amount of survival skills can protect my heart from Vancouver Agitators star goalie, Pacey Lawes. But as long as we kiss and don’t tell, maybe everything will be okay . . .

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Okay. I really loved this book. I know Meghan doesn't officially writes series, but this book introduces to a whole new batch of guys and I LOVE THEM ALL. Ugh. One in particular, who we meet pretty much right away, stole my heart and I REALLY hope that Meghan writes his story.

But back to this book.....Pacey and Winnie! I loved them! The premise of Winnie walking into this house full of hockey players made me laugh and the lengths they go to prove who they are made me laugh even more. I probably would have been wary of them too, but it turns out they are just a bunch of good guys.

Pacey and Winnie are attracted to each other from the start. Of course she thinks she is leaving so there is no point in getting to know him. Or any of the guys. But then when she gets stuck there, it's kind of the perfect situation. They both go back and forth about whether getting involved is the smart thing to do, but they connect on a level that surprises both of them. And I just loved them together.

This book is full of the signature Meghan Quinn humor. There are plenty of hilarious moments and you will fall in love with the men of the Vancouver Agitators. There are even a few mentions of some of our old favorites. Go and grab this book...you will not be disappointed!

"Leave me with this book, the characters and the bees and I’ll be one happy reader - probably forever." - The Chatty Romance Reader

When the devil comes to town, you have to meet him head on.

Which is exactly what I did when Grant Stone rolled into our small Texas town, driving a sports car I could fit in the bed of my truck, wearing a suit as black as his soul. He’s here to acquire mineral rights to half a dozen farms in town.

And there’s no way he’s getting mine.

I don’t make deals with the devil.

So when he challenges me to show him the small town ropes, my motivation is the prospect of seeing him make a fool of himself. He might have an angle, but if he thinks he can finagle me into endangering my bee farm, he’s got another thing coming.

Until the line in the sand is washed away.

My farm in danger. A town in upheaval. A man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

And me in the middle.

When the devil comes to town, you have to meet him head on.

And when he sneaks into your heart, he’ll only break it.

My Review

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

This book had me laughing from the first chapter.  The egg throwing incident set the tone for a back and forth between Grant and Jo that I really enjoyed. It's start off a bit hostile since Grant is looking to buy Jo's family land, but it slowly turned into something else.

Jo's plan to drive Grant away by trying to humiliate him as much as possible is not even remotely successful. All it did was allow Jo to see him as an actual person and not the devil she assumed he was. Meanwhile Grant, who originally is very out of place in the small Texas town, slowly starts to fit in and even wins some people over.

I loved this book. It's sweet and funny and even downright sexy at times. Jo and Grant had fantastic chemistry and I loved how their relationship progressed. There were these brief moments when I wasn't sure where they stood with each other, but then something would happen that reassured me. Of course Grant wasn't the big bad wolf that he appeared to be and I loved discovering the person he really was. Winnie played a big part in that and I appreciated that she really did stick to her guns the whole time. She may have had a few moments where she wavered a bit, but honestly, who wouldn't?

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
